Have a Drink

Shortly after sitting down.

Lynn, you don't know—our class monitor is now a full-fledged rich kid. Did you see that orange Lamborghini parked outside when you came?

One of the girls, unable to hold back, said eagerly to Lynn Chen, "That car was just bought by our class monitor a few days ago. I heard it's worth over four million!"

That's right, and you don't know—before you arrived, our class monitor kept talking about you.

Everyone chimed in, and their words were full of praise for Zane Liu.

Zane Liu clearly enjoyed all the compliments.

"It's alright, just a little business."

Zane Liu said cheerfully.

His gaze lingered on Lynn Chen, sizing her up without bothering to hide it.

He had liked Lynn Chen since junior high, but she always ignored him. To him, she seemed almost like a little goddess, and with Yolanda Fang protecting her, Zane never really had a chance.

But now, things are different.

After being tempered by society, Zane Liu understood that his greatest charm now was his wealth.

With money comes confidence and courage.

"Lynn, I only just heard you came to Beijing. I had no idea before."

"Otherwise, I would've looked for you much earlier."

Zane Liu put on a friendly face.

"Why would you look for me?" Lynn asked, confused, looking at him.

"Of course, to hang out with you."

On the other side, Maggie Sun pulled Lynn Chen over to the seat next to Zane Liu, trying to make her sit beside him.

But when Lynn Chen sat down, she deliberately switched seats with Maggie Sun, so Maggie ended up sitting next to Zane Liu instead.

Maggie Sun glanced at Zane Liu and said, "Right, class monitor, you promised—since I brought Lynn here, you should bring over Manager Li from Starlit Tang Entertainment."

"Where's Manager Li? Don't tell me he isn't coming?"

Maggie spoke with a hint of playful whining.

Lynn Chen's face changed when she heard this—she realized she was being treated like some bargaining chip.

"Don't worry, Manager Li is already on his way. I've already mentioned your drama contract to him."

"Manager Li has praised you a lot in private. Whether you get the role depends on your performance."

Zane Liu grinned, pleased with himself.

Just as he finished speaking, the door to Pavilion Nine Box swung open again.

Outside the door.

A young man in his twenties walked in, dressed in a suit.

He held a cigar, and as soon as he entered, his eyes locked onto Maggie Sun and Lynn Chen.

"Nice arrangement tonight, Liu," he said.

Manager Li made no effort to hide his intentions as he walked in.

His family owned Starlit Tang Entertainment. The company wasn't as famous as Imperial Star, which launched Serena Tong, but compared to other firms, Starlit Tang had real clout.

"You're too kind, Manager Li," Zane Liu said. "Come on, let me introduce everyone."

Zane Liu clapped his hands. "This is Manager Li from Starlit Tang Entertainment."

"And these are my junior-high classmates. We're just having a little reunion today."

After Zane Liu finished, Maggie Sun and the others echoed him, smiling.

Lynn Chen alone sat there, frowning, already thinking about leaving.

Suddenly, Zane Liu looked at Lynn Chen. "Lynn, stand up and greet Manager Li."

"There's wine on the table—keep Manager Li company and have a drink with him."
