Chapter 701: The Sixty-First Sabbath - Lesson

As expected, those lifelike illusions didn’t move at all. The Stone Golem passed straight through the body of a Reaper, but in the next instant, Leon lost contact with it.

Everyone could see the Stone Golem’s body sliced cleanly in half—a barely perceptible black fissure appearing right where it stood.

“Damn it, a spatial rift!”

Anderson let out a terrified cry.

The Dark Elves, already pale, turned an even ghastlier shade—every single one of them scared witless...

Cold sweat broke out on Leon’s forehead. This place was just too bizarre—so eerily quiet it made his skin crawl, and now, these insidious, twisted traps.

First, a horde of illusions appeared—Dark Elves, then wave after wave of magical beasts, and finally, the Reapers.

To be honest, given Leon and his party’s strength, when the Dark Elves first showed up, their first instinct wouldn’t have been to run—it would’ve been to charge in and fight.

If the Stone Golems hadn’t been scouting ahead, triggering the illusion first, by the time Leon’s group arrived, the Frostbone Dragon’s illusion would’ve already been unleashed.

After summoning dozens of Stone Golems, Leon made sure every inch of ground was checked; every spatial rift was found before he turned to the Dark Elves.

Jeremy immediately cut in, "You go first."

Leon sneered, curling his lip in disdain.

Anderson bared his teeth and cursed, "If I wanted you dead, I wouldn’t need cheap tricks like this!"

Leon carefully led everyone through the trap-filled zone.

Once across, Leon felt cold sweat soaking his back. He seemed to hear faint mocking laughter, as if the illusions themselves were silently ridiculing them, making Leon’s skin crawl.

After Leon’s group crossed, Elsa led the Dark Elves along the safe path. Jeremy, sweating and uneasy, regretted letting Leon go first, fearing Leon might have set a trap.

After nervously crossing, Jeremy collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath, his eyes unfocused.

Leon ignored Jeremy’s scheming, turning his gaze to the open area ahead—deep within Nightfall Gorge.

The narrow gorge ahead was pitch black, impossible to see clearly. Even a Wizard’s Eye would lose contact after flying a few hundred meters, as if swallowed by the gloom.
