Luna’s True Face

"Evan, just who are you really? You have so many secrets, it’s honestly unbelievable. Being your woman makes me proud!" Jenny Sima murmured to herself after Evan Chu left.

Evan Chu was already familiar with the location of Stellar Chamber One and arrived in no time. He took out the chamber key and entered directly.

After pulling out a pile of low-grade Starstones from his storage ring and placing them into the altar’s slots, Evan Chu began refining the Nine Yin Qi he’d absorbed from Jenny Sima’s body.

Inside the chamber, starlight from the Big Dipper projection poured down in a steady stream, but Evan Chu ignored it. His top priority was slowly fusing the Nine Yin Qi with his Pure Yang Qi.

After circulating his power with Jenny Sima for three cycles, he’d only refined a tiny bit of Nine Yin Qi. Evan Chu sat down, cleared his mind, and devoted himself fully to the process.

When he opened his eyes, five days had already passed. He hadn’t expected this round of refinement to take so long, but the results were amazing.

At this moment, all the Pure Yang Qi in his body had vanished without a trace. In his dantian, he could clearly see hazy mist swirling around the Earth Star Pellet, which was slowly absorbing it.

Evan Chu knew this mist was the Chaos Qi he’d previously exhausted. Now, this miraculous energy had returned to his body, and his power had risen another level.

He circulated the Earth Star Pellet, and to his surprise, the amount of stellar force inside was more than double what it used to be. "Did I already break through to the second level of the Earth Martial Realm?"

"You’re already at the peak of the second level, and you didn’t even notice your breakthrough. You really are one of a kind!" Luna’s voice rang out just then.

"Breaking through is way too easy. I thought it’d take a while longer," Evan Chu said, unimpressed.

"If it were anyone else, they’d probably be at fifth or even sixth-level Earth Martial by now. You only broke through to the second level and you’re still proud? The first few levels are always easy. You should know that with every breakthrough, you need several times more stellar force than before."

Even that little brat Jenny Sima is already at fourth-level Earth Martial. Think about why that is!"

Luna’s words finally made Evan Chu take the issue seriously. The higher the realm, the harder the breakthrough. "Why is that? Don’t tell me it’s because you’re absorbing my power?"

"Absorbing your power? My ass! You’ve got a Pure Yang Constitution and Dragon Clan bloodline. That means your breakthroughs are slower than others, but your strength is something ordinary cultivators at the same level can’t even compare to.

Put it this way: you’re at second-level Earth Martial, but your real combat power is already on par with fourth-level Earth Martial. Fighting above your realm is normal for you." Luna was a bit speechless—sometimes Evan Chu could really drive her crazy.

"Oh, I’ve known that for ages! Haha! Just look at who my ancestor is—the Divine Dragon!" Evan Chu laughed loudly.

At that moment, his stomach growled with hunger. "Going days without food really sucks!"

Seeing there were still plenty of Starstones left on the altar, Evan Chu pulled out a bottle of pills from his storage ring. The label clearly read: Anti-Hunger Pill.

Without even thinking, he dumped several pills into his mouth and swallowed them all. Within a few breaths, the hunger vanished—only to be replaced by a painfully bloated feeling, like he’d overeaten.

"Damn it! Did I eat too many?" Evan Chu clutched his stomach, feeling like his gut was about to burst, and kept burping nonstop.

He picked up the pill bottle and checked the back, where he saw a line of tiny text: Anti-Hunger Pill, third-grade. One pill keeps you from feeling hungry for five days. Overdosing causes stomach bloating for one hour!

"One hour? Are you kidding me! Who the hell invented this Anti-Hunger Pill? Someday I’m going to settle the score with them!" Evan Chu roared, clutching his belly.

"Serves you right! That’s what you get for not reading the instructions before stuffing your face. Consider it a lesson—if it’d been poison, you’d be screwed!" Luna laughed loudly.

An hour later, Evan Chu was sitting on the floor, drenched in sweat and panting. "That was torture—worse than breaking through to the second level of the Starforge Body!"

"Evan, take out the Soul Snow Grass. I need to absorb it, but don’t you dare peek while I’m doing it!" Luna instructed.

"Got it, I won’t look, promise. I’d better focus on absorbing more stellar force to break through to third-level Earth Martial." With a thought, a delicate box appeared in Evan Chu’s hand.

A faint glow shimmered on the box’s surface as Evan Chu slowly opened it. Inside lay a snow-white little herb, as if it were made of pure snowflakes.

"Put the Soul Snow Grass on the ground and turn around. Remember, no peeking!" Luna repeated her warning.

After setting down the box, Evan Chu turned away, closed his eyes, and began absorbing the stellar force streaming down from the Big Dipper. But Luna’s repeated warnings just made him even more curious.

Suddenly, he felt a jolt in his mind, and a sword-shaped beam of light shot out from Evan Chu’s brow, spinning a few times in the air before landing next to the box.

Even with his eyes closed, Evan Chu could clearly sense what was happening. This was Luna leaving his body. He forced himself to keep absorbing stellar force, but his ears stayed alert for any movement.

After Luna landed beside the Soul Snow Grass, the sword-shaped light grew brighter and brighter, lighting up the entire Stellar Chamber like daylight. Even with his eyes closed, Evan Chu felt like he was staring into the sun.

Suddenly, a six-pointed star formation appeared behind Evan Chu, and countless runes and characters whirled through the air. If he’d seen it, he would’ve been so shocked his jaw would hit the floor.

This was Luna unlocking the seals on her own soul. The six-pointed star flashed nonstop, while the Soul Snow Grass in the box slowly faded away. After about fifteen minutes, the entire herb had disappeared.

A sweet, melodious laugh sounded behind him. Hearing it, Evan Chu couldn’t hold back anymore—he spun around in a rush.

The six-pointed star and floating runes had vanished. What Evan Chu saw was a young girl standing there, completely unclothed.

Her whole figure was shrouded in a hazy light, but her shape and face were unmistakably beautiful—more stunning than Jenny Sima or Roxanne Lin. Evan Chu was at a total loss for words.

Maybe this was what a true immortal looked like. Evan Chu was completely dazed—this was Luna’s real face, half-concealed and impossibly enchanting.

"Have you seen enough?" Luna’s familiar voice came from the lips of the ethereal beauty before him.

"Not yet!" Evan Chu blurted out instinctively.

"Ah! No, wait! Sister Luna, I was wrong!" Evan Chu suddenly felt a wave of pain shoot through his ear...
