General, May This Little Maiden Dance for You
The wedding was so rushed that Ian Song didn't even send out formal invitations.
Still, plenty of guests came to offer their congratulations—there were two hundred banquet tables, and even that wasn't enough for everyone to sit.
After making the rounds and drinking with the guests, Ian staggered drunkenly toward the back courtyard.
Inside the bridal chamber, Lila Quinn wasn't sitting obediently with her red wedding veil, waiting for Ian to arrive.
Instead, she was quietly talking with Rina.
Suddenly, Lila's ear twitched. She whispered, "He's coming. Get ready."
"Okay, Senior Sister!" Rina's eyes flashed with excitement.
Sure enough, Ian soon pushed the door open. He nearly stumbled from all the wine, and Rina hurried over to steady him, saying sweetly, "Careful, Grand General."
"Get lost, you ugly freak! Don't touch me!"
Ian rudely shoved Rina aside and, with a lecherous grin, walked straight to Lila at the table. "Wife, come let your husband hold you."
Rina, pushed aside, glared at Ian's back with hatred. But thinking about what was coming, she couldn't help but smirk. "Bastard, enjoy yourself while you can—once I drain your cultivation, I'll take my time dealing with you!"
Lila slipped away with a subtle movement, dodging Ian's bear hug.
She picked up two cups of wine from the table and handed one to Ian, coaxing sweetly, "Grand General, don't be impatient—let's finish this cup first!"
"Alright, if my wife says drink, I drink!"
Ian, not suspecting a thing, took the cup and said to Lila, "Wife, let's toast."
"Alright, cheers."
Clink!
Their cups collided in midair, and both drank their wine.
"Huh? Why do I see two wives? My head... it's spinning!"
With a thud, Ian collapsed to the floor.
Seeing Ian collapse, a faint mocking smile appeared at the corner of Lila's lips. She looked at Rina and said, "The rest is up to you!"
"Thank you, Senior Sister, for giving me this chance!"
Rina quickly stepped forward, picked up the 'unconscious' Ian, and carried him to the bed.
"Ian Song, you dared to kill my sister. Tonight, I'm going to drain all your cultivation and turn you into a cripple!" As she spoke, Rina laid Ian on the bed and started to undress him.
Seeing this, Lila was about to leave the room, but suddenly felt her head spin and collapsed to the floor with a thud.
"What... what's happening?"
Just before passing out, Lila was completely baffled.
"Senior Sister, what's wrong?"
Hearing the commotion, Rina spun around in shock, saw Lila unconscious, and rushed over. But just then, Ian—who had only been pretending—suddenly opened his eyes, reached out, and tapped a key acupoint on Rina's back, freezing her in place. He calmly finished dressing and walked over to face her.
"You... How are you awake?"
Seeing Ian, Rina was utterly stunned.
"What do you think?" Ian said playfully.
Suddenly, Rina's face changed drastically. Thinking of Lila's collapse, she cried out, "You saw through our plan!"
"What do you think?"
Ian smiled faintly, reached out, and tapped Rina's forehead, activating Puppet Mastery Divine Art.
In no time, Rina was completely enslaved and told Ian everything she knew, without holding anything back.
"You can leave now." Ian released Rina's acupoint.
"Yes, Master!"
Rina nodded and quickly left the room.
Ian strolled over to Lila, sneering, "Alright, drop the act—I know you're already awake!"
Lila flipped herself upright and stared at Ian with a complicated expression. "How did you switch my wine cup?"
"Smart! You figured out so quickly that I swapped your cup!"
Ian clapped and laughed. The moment he took Lila's cup, he activated Spatial Stasis and quickly swapped their cups. So Lila ended up drinking the drugged wine herself.
But Lila was naturally cautious and had taken an antidote ahead of time. So after a brief blackout, she woke up.
She happened to overhear Rina spilling her whole plan, which shocked her. Thinking fast, she chose to keep pretending to be unconscious, planning to ambush Ian at the perfect moment—but Ian saw through her act.
After a moment of silence, Lila looked at Ian. "When did you figure it out?"
Ian smiled. "A long time ago—when your Mountain-Sea Divine Palace sent Lance Ji to assassinate me. He failed, and ended up telling me everything he knew, including your identity. So from the moment you appeared, I knew you weren't here with good intentions."
Hearing this, Lila looked very unwilling. Her cultivation was higher than Rina and Longlong's, but because of her technique, her combat power wasn't much stronger than theirs.
But Ian could kill Longlong with a single palm—his fighting strength was on a whole other level. So brute force wasn't a realistic way out.
Suddenly, inspiration struck Lila. She stared at Ian. "Do you also know how to use charm arts?"
Just now, Rina obeyed Ian's every word and revealed everything about Mountain-Sea Divine Palace. Ian hadn't threatened or bribed her, yet Rina didn't hide anything—there was only one explanation: Ian had used a charm art to control her mind.
That would also explain why Ian wasn't affected by Lila's own charm—he was a master of such arts himself.
Hearing Lila's question, Ian nodded. "Sort of."
"Just as I thought!"
Lila took a deep breath, then said to Ian, "Grand General, would you dare to compete with me?"
"How would we compete?" Ian asked, clearly interested.
"Since we both know charm arts, why not have a contest? If you win, I'll leave Mountain-Sea Divine Palace, wash your clothes, cook for you, and be your pampered wife. If I win, you let Rina and me go free."
"Sure! What are the rules?" Ian nodded.
Lila grew serious. "I'll unleash my full charm art on you once. If I can't bewilder you within half a quarter of an hour, I lose!"
Charm arts can confuse the mind, but they have a fatal flaw—if you go all out and still can't charm the target, you'll suffer backlash and your mind may fall completely under the opponent's control.
"Alright! Go ahead!" Ian shrugged, unconcerned. To him, charm arts were just another type of mental attack. His spiritual strength was 900 points, far above ordinary Innate Ninth-Layer cultivators, so he wasn't worried about Lila's enchantment.
"Before we begin, Grand General, may I dance for you first?" A smile returned to Lila's stunning face.
"Of course! Seeing Lady Pear Blossom dance is a rare blessing." Ian nodded, deliberately ignoring her true intent.
"Then I'll do my best!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Lila began to dance gracefully. There was no music, no accompaniment, but her dance was breathtakingly beautiful. For a moment, Ian deliberately let a dazed, entranced look appear on his face.
Seeing this, a barely perceptible cold smile flickered in Lila's eyes.
