Antler Serpent's Poisonous Trick

12/19/2025

Everyone present knew exactly who Grace Lawrence's Quincentennial Snow Ginseng was meant for.

Besides, Grace Wan wasn't even sick! She had no need for it at all.

Clearly, they were just here to snatch it...

Grace Lawrence thought it over. With her father absent, it was better to keep the peace, so she said, "Alright, I'm not getting into a fight about who gets to be the Emperor's mother-in-law! The Quincentennial Snow Ginseng has to be processed whole, or else its effects will be greatly diminished. I'll have someone prepare it, then cut half for Aunt Wan. Sound good?"

"Half? As if your mom's going to get better with any medicine! Why waste such a top-tier magical item?" Cynthia Zhu sneered, clearly wishing Grace's mom would just kick the bucket. "Hand it over, now!"

Grace's gaze darkened as she shot back, "What if I don't hand it over?"

"You don't get a say today!" Kevin Zhuo snapped. "Cynthia, let's go search the place!"

"Whatever." The siblings barged straight into the room.

As soon as they entered, Cynthia Zhu spotted an Antler Serpent on the table in the inner chamber.

Cynthia jumped in fright, screamed "Ah!" and hid behind her brother.

"Don't be scared, it's just an Antler Serpent," said Kevin Zhuo. "It's a low-level spirit beast, it can't hurt us."

Cynthia Zhu nodded and immediately started rummaging around.

She searched the obvious places first, then opened the wardrobe.

Kevin Zhuo opened the drawer of her vanity table and started turning things upside down.

Grace Lawrence followed them inside and stood by the door, watching as they tossed her clothes all over the floor and made a mess of her jewelry. Her gaze was calm and indifferent.

The Quincentennial Snow Ginseng was still in her spatial realm, untouched and unprocessed.

If they want it so badly... fine, let them have it!

Grace Lawrence glanced at the spot, then walked over to where the Antler Serpent was by the low table. She stuffed the box holding the Snow Ginseng into the small drawer underneath.

After she finished, she noticed the Antler Serpent had lifted its head and was looking at her sideways.

Grace Lawrence made a "shh!" gesture at it, pretending to be totally nonchalant as she walked away.

Soon, Kevin Zhuo finished searching the vanity and came over to the low table.

He opened the drawer underneath the table, and his eyes lit up. "Found it!" he exclaimed.

Cynthia Zhu hurried over to take a look too.

"You'd better not touch it!" Grace Lawrence said coolly. "That box was on the table earlier, and the Antler Serpent peed on it. It's poisonous!"

Evan Xiao glanced at Grace Lawrence.

You're so crude!

Who peed?

You're the poisonous one!

"Idiot!" Kevin Zhuo sneered, shooting the Antler Serpent a look. "Antler Serpents aren't poisonous at all! If you're going to scare people, at least get your facts straight!"

Almost every spiritualist has hunted in Eastwood Forest before.

They're all pretty familiar with common spirit beasts.

And as the lowest-level spirit beast in Eastwood Forest, Kevin Zhuo knew all about Antler Serpents.

They're not poisonous!

They're delicious!

Its skin and antlers are used to make magical items.

He knew everything about Antler Serpents!

Grace Lawrence, that idiot, actually tried to scare him with an Antler Serpent!

"It really is poisonous," Grace Lawrence warned again. "You'd better not touch it—"

Before she could finish, Kevin Zhuo had already taken out the box and was ready to leave with it.

As soon as he picked it up, he realized the weight was off.

He opened the box and saw—it was empty!

"It's an empty box!" Kevin Zhuo shouted angrily. "Where's the Snow Ginseng? Where did you hide it?"

Grace Lawrence looked at his hand and said, "You're poisoned!"
