Supernatural Incident at Sham Shui Po Police Station

12/2/2025

"Here's what happened—after I graduated from the PTU headquarters in Fanling, it hadn't even been two years. Just a couple of months ago, before I transferred to Mong Kok, I was still stationed at Sham Shui Po Police Station in Kowloon, Hong Kong. That's where I encountered something truly bone-chilling! I... I even thought about quitting the force for the first time because of it!" Sergeant Mandy Chung recalled the incident, her gaze still distant, hugging her arms tightly and nervously glancing around as if a demon might tear through the air to hunt her. Her body trembled slightly, showing just how deeply that event had shaken her.

"Oh! Don't be nervous, I'm here with you. Just take your time and tell me." Shawn Young noticed her tense expression and, with a careful glance, saw a strange hint of black energy between her brows. He was startled, realizing that whatever she'd experienced was definitely bad news! Quickly, he opened his arms to comfort her, gently holding her by the arms.

"Um—could you, could you not do that? I'm... I'm still not used to it. Besides, don't forget, you still owe me!" Mandy Chung frowned and spoke coldly, startled by Shawn Young's seemingly natural intimacy, and suddenly remembering the "deep hurt" he'd caused her.

"Uh—okay! I just saw a trace of sinister energy between your brows, so I wanted to use my pure Yang body and true qi to help dispel it. But if you don't like it, I'll stop." Shawn Young spread his hands helplessly.

"Do I really have that kind of curse or whatever you just mentioned on me?" Mandy Chung was startled and quickly pressed for an answer.

"Yes, that's right. The energy on you is the 'Fifth Yellow Curse.' It's a fierce type of malignant energy, very rare among ordinary people. But you're a police officer, and if you deal with ruthless criminals long enough, you might pick it up! There's also a special reason why some people are more likely to attract this kind of curse." Shawn Young explained.

"A special reason? What do you mean?" Mandy Chung quickly asked.

"If I'm not mistaken, the day you encountered that supernatural incident was a day of bad luck on the lunar calendar. If you're born in the year of the Snake or Dragon, and you happened to be on your period that day, that's why you saw things that most people can't—and that's why you were affected by it!" Shawn Young said clearly.

"Oh my god—how did you know all that?! I was born in the year of the Snake, and my period had just started two days before—it definitely wasn't over yet!" Mandy Chung's eyes widened in shock.

"Uh—between heaven and earth, there are all kinds of 'qi.' Some 'qi' can't be seen with the naked eye, but it's definitely there. You need special training to perceive it. Observing the natural qi of the world and a person's aura, and analyzing the secrets within—that's just one part of Taoist cultivation. So of course I have my ways to know these basic things!" Shawn explained.

"Oh, so that's how it works! Chinese Taoist arts really are profound! With your help, I think my doubts can finally be cleared up!" Mandy nodded, impressed.

"Mm, tell me what exactly happened. Don't worry, if it's within my abilities, I'll do my best to help you!"

"Well, here's what happened—That night, I was working the night shift outside the detention cell at Sham Shui Po Police Station. It was about half past midnight when I suddenly saw the corpse of a naked woman with long, messy hair appear silently right in front of me! I screamed on the spot—you know, what I saw was so real, I could even feel the corpse floating and moving, and the cold, damp air coming off her body!

The woman's corpse just stood right in front of me, her long hair covering her shoulders. I couldn't see her face clearly, but from her body, I could tell she was very young! Her mouth was open, like she wanted to say something. That night, besides me, there were a few male officers around, but strangely, none of them saw the woman's corpse—they just thought I was overreacting. I know these things can't be explained, but after that, I had nightmares for two whole months. Every night, I'd dream of that woman's corpse appearing, her mouth open as if wanting to speak, but no sound coming out. I was about to lose my mind. I asked my cousin for help and got transferred out of Sham Shui Po Police Station, but even now, I keep having the same nightmare, and I can't stop thinking about that night! It was terrifying—" Mandy's face turned pale again as she spoke, her body shaking uncontrollably.

"Oh—it looks like you really did run into something evil! Was there any strange murder case in Sham Shui Po around that time? Something involving a young woman?" Shawn thought for a moment and asked.

"Uh—not that I know of! I worked at Sham Shui Po Police Station for over a year. There were some big cases, but they were all about human smuggling, jewelry store robberies, and shootouts with criminals. No one reported a case about a young woman being killed!" Mandy replied after thinking carefully.

"Hmm—just because no one reported it doesn't mean nothing happened! Maybe the killer covered it up, or destroyed the evidence!" Shawn reminded her.

"Uh—now that you mention it, I do remember—A week before that young woman's corpse appeared at Sham Shui Po Police Station, a middle-aged woman from Yen Chow Street in West Kowloon came to report her eighteen-year-old daughter missing. She hadn't been seen for a week, and no one could reach her by phone! That was the only missing person case recorded at the time. Her family and the police still haven't found her! If it's related to a missing girl, then that eighteen-year-old is the only possible candidate!" Mandy recalled.

"Oh—what's the missing girl's name? What's her background?" Shawn immediately asked.

"The girl's name is Wen Xiaoli. She's a high school student, but her family situation is complicated. Her parents divorced years ago, and her mother remarried a man who runs a mahjong parlor on Yen Chow Street in West Kowloon. She moved in with her mother, but because of her parents' divorce, she's pretty rebellious. She often argues with her stepfather, and their relationship is terrible, so she skips school a lot. She's basically a troubled teen!" Mandy explained.

Shawn nodded after hearing her description. "Alright, then we'll start our investigation with this missing girl, Wen Xiaoli. I'll find us some clues!"

"Uh—are you saying that the young woman's corpse was Wen Xiaoli's?" Mandy asked urgently.

"Not necessarily! But she's the most likely candidate. So we'll start our investigation with her." Shawn replied.

"Alright! Since it's work hours, I'll check in with my colleagues at Sham Shui Po, and we'll head over together right away!" Mandy said quickly.

"Uh—right now?" Shawn was surprised by her urgency.

"Of course! Because of all this, I've been tormented for over two months—can't sleep, always in a terrible mood, and I keep coming to my cousin just to feel a bit safer! I never thought that this morning, you would—" Mandy glanced at Shawn, her face flushed.
