Leaving Crescent Moon Sect

Seeing the black-clothed man plummet from the sky, Evan Chu immediately dashed downward. If this man ended up dying from the fall instead of being slain by Evan’s own hand, Evan would regret it so much he’d want to bang his head against the wall.

Of course, Evan’s speed was far greater than the rate at which the black-clothed man was falling. Once he hit the ground, Evan used Chaos Dragon Force to catch him from a distance, then gently lowered him down.

At this moment, the expression on the black-clothed man’s face was absolutely terrifying. Evan didn’t know exactly what it felt like to be struck by Soul Rend, but he’d experienced soul separation and signed soul contracts with the Golden Demon Vulture before—the stabbing pain was indescribable.

“Luna, it’s up to you now!” Evan saw that the man wouldn’t die right away, so he immediately called out to the Sword Spirit.

As soon as Evan finished speaking, a white light flashed across his forehead. A silver-white miniature sword shot out from the spot between his brows and instantly vanished into the man’s body.

Evan was very familiar with Luna’s methods; right now, all he could do was wait for her to bring back some useful information.

Once Luna entered the black-clothed man’s body, the man suffered even greater torment, rolling on the ground as if wracked by agony. The muscles on his face twisted together, making him look utterly ferocious.

His mouth kept releasing painful howls, sending chills down Evan’s spine. This was clearly related to Luna searching through the man’s memories.

After a while, a white light emerged from the black-clothed man’s body. The miniature sword flew out, circled in the air a few times, then returned to Evan’s brow. At that moment, the man stopped moving, as if he were dead.

“Luna, how did it go? Why isn’t he moving—is he dead?” Evan immediately asked.

"He’s not dead yet, but he’s become a complete idiot. You’d better destroy his body and get out of here fast. I didn’t expect there’d be a restriction planted in his mind ahead of time—I barely got any information out of him. This was beyond anything I’d anticipated," Luna said.

Evan didn’t rush to ask Luna for details; he knew he had plenty of time. From Luna’s tone, he could tell that the dark organization probably already knew something had happened to their man—and they might already be making moves.

With a thought, a fireball appeared in his hand. The color wasn’t the usual fiery red—it had started to darken, tinged with black. This signified his flame growing even stronger; once it turned fully black, it would become karmic flame, even more terrifying than Flarefire.

Even Saint Martial experts would avoid this kind of flame at all costs. The fire instantly landed on the black-clothed man, and within a few breaths, he was reduced to ashes.

Evan then teleported away from the scene, reappearing inside Crescent Moon Sect. By now, Master Shaw had basically finished slaughtering all the black-clothed invaders who had entered Crescent Moon Sect.

Meanwhile, in a dark palace, a red wooden name tag atop a ritual altar suddenly shattered. The two completely shrouded figures inside the palace paused in surprise.

“Number Three actually died. Looks like he ran into trouble at Crescent Moon Sect. Maybe we were too careless—after all, Crescent Moon Sect’s master is a Saint Martial expert. If he wasn’t poisoned, our entire strike force might have been wiped out,” one of them said.

“You’re right, Second Brother. This time we really met someone prepared. Just now, my soul power flickered—someone actually used a soul-searching technique on Number Three. That’s honestly unbelievable; it’s an ancient-era skill, and back then, hardly anyone in the world knew how to use it.

I’d left a soul mark in Number Three’s mind, and it was attacked just now. The attack was weak, but I still felt it—the opponent’s soul power is at least equal to mine. What’s more terrifying is that they knew I’d set a mark and somehow broke it, gaining some clues,” the other person said in shock.

“How is that possible? If the soul mark was broken, Number Three would die instantly—the other side shouldn’t have gotten any information. From what you’re saying, things are serious. If someone really has that kind of skill, apart from those ancient ‘old undyings,’ no one else could do it. Are you telling me those old monsters have come back to life?” Second Brother asked.

"It’s entirely possible. Don’t forget, Lord Frostbane has already reincarnated and returned to Frostbane Sect. I really don’t get why our master doesn’t just attack Frostbane Sect and eliminate Frostbane—the most dangerous threat—instead of going after these weaker sects," the other person said.

"We’d better not try to guess the master’s intentions. When the time comes, he’ll act against Frostbane Sect for sure. Remember, he said if he wants to return to his original world, he’ll have to rely on Lord Frostbane. Maybe it’s because Frostbane’s strength is still too weak right now. Looks like we’ll need to redeploy," the first person replied.

At that moment, Evan Chu glanced at Master Shaw and asked, "Sect Master, did you finish off all the dark organization’s men?"

"I did not fail you. All those villains have been slain. If not for Sect Master Chu, Crescent Moon Sect might have become just another casualty of the dark organization’s extermination campaign," Master Shaw said.

"You’re too kind, Sect Master. Anyone would step in if they saw something like this. Crescent Moon Sect survived thanks to your luck, but your disciple’s Heaven-Silkworm Gu poison may be very difficult to purge," Evan said.

"Heaven-Silkworm Gu is one of the top three gu poisons in the world, but it’s not too hard for me—especially since I now have the mother parasite. As long as I can lure out the spawn parasites from his body and use spirit herbs to gradually restore his health, he should be fine," Master Shaw said.

Evan knew only a little about gu poisons, but since Master Shaw spoke with such confidence, he didn’t press further. "Since everything here is settled, I’ll take my leave. I hope we meet again!"

"Sect Master Chu, why are you leaving so soon? I was hoping we could share a few drinks! Surely you won’t refuse me?" Master Shaw said.

Evan looked at him and replied, "I have urgent business. If you want to drink, that’s easy—next month I’ll be holding my wedding at Frostbane Sect. If you don’t mind, you’re welcome to come and celebrate, and I’ll be sure to drink with you then."

Since Evan had said so, Master Shaw didn’t press further and smiled, "I’ll definitely come to congratulate you, Sect Master Chu. You can count on me!"

"Very well, I’ll take my leave then!" Evan said, turning and vanishing from Master Shaw’s sight with a single teleport.
