Lovers at Last

Lily Bai was silent for a moment, just about to say she wasn’t really his senior sister, when Soren Lann interrupted, “Don’t tell me you’re not her. Between us, one look is enough. I bet you’ve already recovered your past-life memories, haven’t you?”

Lily blinked hard, suddenly regretting coming to see him.

"Senior Sister—"

“If you understand with just a glance, why should I say more?” Lily didn’t turn back and walked away without hesitation.

Quentin Lian patted Soren’s shoulder worriedly, then followed after her.

Soren Lann walked to the door and stared at their retreating figures.

“Divine Lord, it’s starting to rain,” Keane Shui said beside him. “Let’s head inside!”

Outside, the rain began to pour, growing heavier by the minute.

Soren sighed softly and turned to go inside.

Just then, he noticed rain splashing under the eaves, soaking the swallow’s nest. The Golden Swallow stretched out its head to look at him, tiny water droplets clinging to its feathers.

Soren reached out and plucked her down. Azure Flame shook off the water, splattering it all over Soren’s hand and face.

Soren wasn’t mad at all. He asked, “Why are you so silly? It’s raining and you didn’t even think to come inside and stay dry?”

You’re the silly one! She clearly doesn’t like you, so why do you keep doing so much for her?

“Look at those little eyes…” Soren chuckled, rubbed her head, then—seemingly struck by a thought—ordered, “Keane Shui, bring me an umbrella.”

Keane Shui handed an umbrella to Divine Lord Soren.

Soren took it and headed out.

Azure Flame sensed something was up—he was probably going to find Lily Bai.

She had to keep an eye on him.

So, she spread her wings and flew up to Soren’s shoulder.

“What? You want to come too?” Soren turned to ask her.

Azure Flame nodded.

“Then let’s go together.” Soren caught her in his hand and, in a blink, stepped onto the Portal Array to the Spirit Alliance.

The divine soldiers guarding the portal said that he and his 'daughter' had left through here before the rain started.

Soren teleported to the Spirit Alliance.

The rain poured down, but it didn’t stop him from using tracking arts in the Spirit Alliance.

He found Lily Bai’s trail by the lakeside.

He blinked over and saw, under the old tower by the lake, Lily Bai and Sean Shaw sheltering from the rain in a small pavilion.

Sean sat expressionless, silently watching the rain ripple across the lake.

Lily, on the other hand, never stopped talking, making faces and bouncing all over the place—nothing like the dignified, reserved Lucia Lu Soren remembered.

Then, she suddenly dove straight into Sean’s arms, hugged his waist, and looked up at him with a face full of playful affection.

Whatever she said, it finally made Sean smile. He pulled her close and kissed her.

Later, he leaned against a pillar, one arm around Lily, the other reaching out to catch the rain.

Dragons are masters of water. Under his control, the raindrops paused in midair, gathering into blossoms shaped like marigolds. Then, using ice magic, he froze them into delicate, crystal-clear flowers—absolutely stunning.

Lily jumped up in delight, reaching out to touch one, her face glowing with happiness...

Azure Flame watched, her bird eyes curving into a smile.

At last... lovers had become a real couple.

As an ancient beast who’d lived hundreds of thousands of years, she’d seen too many partings and deaths.

Most of it had nothing to do with her, but as a bystander, she always preferred to witness happiness like this.

It genuinely made her feel happy.

Just as she was thinking that, a warm drop suddenly fell on her face.

She looked up and saw a single tear hanging from Soren’s face.
