True and False Shepherd Heavenly Venerable

2/14/2026

The Heaven Alliance was founded to overthrow the rule of the ancient gods—to topple 'Heaven' itself, which, in the Dragon-Han Era, meant the ancient gods.

At that time, Cloud-Venerable served as the Heaven Alliance’s leader. She had to unite every possible force—demigods and postnatal beings alike. As long as they aspired to overthrow the ancient gods, they could join the Heaven Alliance.

After they eliminated the Ancient-God Emperor, the Heaven Alliance’s power grew ever greater. Eventually, Cloud-Venerable realized that in toppling ‘Heaven,’ they themselves had become ‘Heaven.’

But by then, she no longer had the power to change the Heaven Alliance. She herself had become an obstacle to the Alliance’s rule over the world.

Knowing she was doomed, she devised a plan for the future—a scheme to be carried out by Dao Ancestor.

"Cloud-Venerable wanted to use the Ancient-God Emperor to split the Heaven Alliance. If necessary, she could even expose the Emperor, forcing the Alliance to temporarily abandon its suppression of the lower realms and focus on the battle to kill the Emperor."

Dao Ancestor continued, "That way, the lower realms would have a chance to develop."

Quinn’s heart trembled with shock.

Cloud-Venerable’s foresight was truly astonishing!

The Heaven Alliance would never allow the Ancient-God Emperor to be resurrected. Only with his death would they have no rival. If the Emperor returned, all their efforts would be wasted.

Every ancient god has flaws and weaknesses, bound by the rules of their own Dao. But the Ancient-God Emperor was different.

He was not bound by the Dao-laws of Heaven and Earth.

Such an Emperor was the most terrifying of all.

If they knew the Ancient-God Emperor had died but his soul reincarnated and mixed among the Ten Heavenly Venerables, the alliance they formed would instantly collapse and shatter.

If they knew who the Ancient-God Emperor was, they would put aside all grudges and join forces to eliminate him.

"Then why, during the Everpeace Cataclysm, did Dao Ancestor not reveal who the Ancient-God Emperor was?" Quinn asked.

His heart was heavy. The Everpeace Cataclysm had claimed so many lives; it was also when he felt most powerless, most shattered. He nearly couldn’t stand, but for the sake of those who survived, he kept going, forging a new path.

Yet if Dao Ancestor had revealed the Ancient-God Emperor’s identity at that time and shifted the blame onto him, perhaps the Everpeace Cataclysm would never have happened.

Dao Ancestor shook his head and said, "It was not yet time."

Quinn’s voice was hoarse: "Not yet time? When will it be time? How many must die before it’s time?"
