Goldwing swooped down from the sky, shifting into his true form and landing beside Evan Chu. He asked, “Boss, what’s up with this thing? It looks like it’s in agony. Did you put the Ice Crystal inside its body?”
“Not yet. I just slashed it once and made a small cut. I find it strange too—why does it look like it’s suffering so much?” Evan Chu replied, equally puzzled.
Jenny Sima and Macy Mei, the Violet Thunder Fox, walked over, both stunned by the Flame Serpent King’s condition. “Evan, is it really going to die just like that?” Jenny asked.
By now, the Flame Serpent King’s flames had almost disappeared. Its massive body was still rolling around, but from the wound, red granular substance kept pouring out, radiating intense heat across the ground.
Macy Mei frowned deeply, as if lost in thought. After a moment, she suddenly exclaimed with excitement, “Boss, this guy’s done for. I never imagined it would die in such a strange way—this is incredible!”
Macy’s words immediately caught everyone’s attention. “Macy, tell us—what’s going on?” Evan Chu asked. The three of them looked at her, eager for an explanation.
A smug smile flashed across Macy’s face as she explained, “You saw it yourselves—these Flame Serpents don’t have blood. Everything that pours out is this red granular stuff.”
“This red granular substance is basically their version of blood. These fire-attribute beasts have insane defenses, as you all know. But every advantage comes with a drawback.”
“Their defenses might be tough, but their life force is actually pretty weak. Once you breach their armor, this red stuff just keeps leaking out. They can’t heal, so all they can do is wait for their energy to run dry and die.”
“Haha, the world really is full of surprises. Who would’ve thought this thing would die like that? Way more unexpected than I imagined,” Evan Chu laughed.
