"Let's leave the city!"
Elder Hu sighed, "As long as we stay in the city, Sea Emperor Sect will keep targeting us!"
Hearing this, everyone felt even more dejected—even Harriet Gu wasn't immune this time.
Pristine Way Sect used to be a local overlord, but now they've been driven out of the city in disgrace. From now on, they might not even dare to lift their heads when meeting disciples from other sects.
Soon, the Pristine Way Sect group arrived at the city gate.
Unexpectedly, Logan Ao and Hugh Ao were waiting there with a group of people.
When the group approached, Hugh Ao sneered, "Well, if it isn't the Pristine Way Sect? What's this—barely arrived in the city and already leaving?"
Facing Hugh Ao's provocation, Elder Warren shouted, "Hugh Ao, don't go too far! Do you really think the Pristine Way Sect is afraid of you?"
Hugh Ao narrowed his eyes. "I don't know if you're afraid, but I do know that as long as my Ao family doesn't agree, you won't find a place to stay in this city!"
Logan Ao suddenly laughed. "Brother, how can you say that? If Pristine Way Sect wants a place in the city, there is one—the slums. Only lowly people live there. Elder Warren, Elder Hu, why not try the slums? Maybe someone there will take you in!"
Hugh Ao nodded repeatedly. "Yes! Yes! Yes! Go to the slums. I promise not to interfere!"
After saying this, Hugh Ao couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Listening to his grating laughter, Elder Warren and Elder Hu's faces turned ugly. The fifteen Pristine Way Sect disciples clenched their fists again and again.
"Let's go!"
Elder Hu said through gritted teeth.
"Wait!" Logan Ao called out.
"Is there something else, Elder Ao?" Elder Hu's voice was nearly squeezed out through his teeth.
Logan Ao's eyes flashed. "I have a proposal—Elder Hu, Elder Warren, hear me out. I know Pristine Way Sect has fifteen Sanctum Admission Tokens. Why don't we have a match? If you win, Sea Emperor Sect will treat you as honored guests. If you lose, hand over five tokens. What do you say?"
"So all of this was just for the Sanctum Admission Token!" Elder Hu stared coldly at Logan Ao.
Logan Ao nodded without hiding his intent. "That's right. Pristine Way Sect has fallen—you don't deserve fifteen Sanctum Admission Tokens." He paused. "Of course, you can refuse. But news of you slinking out of Sea Emperor City will soon spread among the Human Race, and everyone will know Pristine Way Sect is full of cowards!"
Elder Hu's expression changed abruptly. In that instant, he realized their group had walked right into the Sea Emperor Sect's trap.
Ian Song suddenly stepped forward to Elder Hu and whispered, "Elder Hu, we've reached a dead end. Accept their offer—but make them add a condition: if they lose, they have to hand over Sanctum Admission Tokens too!"
At this, he switched to voice transmission: "Elder Hu, make them set the match at the Qi-Refining stage. I'm confident I can beat them!"
Elder Hu glanced at Ian Song, hesitation flickering in his eyes.
"Trust me, Elder Hu!" Ian Song continued via voice transmission.
"Alright!"
Determination flashed in Elder Hu's eyes. He said to Logan Ao, "I can agree, but I have two conditions. First, the participants must be below Grandmaster level. Second, if you lose, you must hand over five Sanctum Admission Tokens!"
Seeing that they agreed, the Ao brothers were delighted, and, afraid Elder Hu would back out, quickly said, "Good, as you wish—the match will be tomorrow!"
Elder Hu nodded.
"Someone, escort our Pristine Way Sect friends to the city's most luxurious inn!"
Two people behind Logan Ao stepped forward and led the Pristine Way Sect group toward the inn.
Half an hour later.
Sea Emperor Sect's city stronghold.
Logan Ao and Hugh Ao arrived together.
The Sea Emperor Sect's headquarters isn't in Sea Emperor City, but on a mountain peak hundreds of miles away.
The one in charge of the stronghold was Fletcher Ximen, vice sect master of Sea Emperor Sect.
"Greetings, Vice Sect Master!"
The Ao brothers bowed.
The tall, white-robed Fletcher Ximen waved his hand. "No need for formalities, elders. Judging by your expressions, the Pristine Way Sect must have given in?"
Logan Ao nodded proudly. "That's right. They've been forced to accept the match—it's set for tomorrow. But they had two requests: the fighters must be at Qi-Refining level, and if we lose, we must hand over Sanctum Admission Tokens."
"Excellent."
Fletcher Ximen nodded with satisfaction. "Well done, elders. I'll send word to the main sect to dispatch our five strongest Inner Sect disciples. Also, spread the news of the match as quickly as possible and invite all the sects to watch. This time, we won't just win their Sanctum Admission Tokens—we'll make sure they lose all face!"
