Ninth Royal Uncle, You Are Secretly So Bad
Assassination attempt?
Pfft... Serena couldn't help but laugh out loud. Ninth Royal Uncle really is something—he can say such outrageous things with a perfectly straight face, and with so much righteous conviction too.
It’s true—when you have absolute power, anything unreasonable becomes perfectly reasonable.
Stepping around the 'weapon' at her feet, Serena walked in and automatically took her place at Ninth Royal Uncle's side, ready to watch the show...
Su Wan had already been thoroughly dealt with, but after all this chaos she still looked disheveled. When Serena entered, Su Wan was tied up like a rice dumpling by the guards and tossed onto the floor.
The once high-and-mighty heiress was instantly reduced to a prisoner. Serena could still faintly recognize her—the same Su family daughter who used to parade around barefoot, keeping up appearances even at night.
"Ninth Royal Uncle, let me go. I didn't try to assassinate you—it was just an accident!" Su Wan's words were slurred; her left cheek was medicated and the swelling had gone down, but the four clear fingerprints were still visible. Clearly, Serena's slap had been heavy.
"Every would-be killer claims innocence. Every suspect in an attempted murder says it was an accident. Miss Su Wan, you're just making excuses." At this moment, it would seem bullying for Ninth Royal Uncle to question Su Wan directly, so naturally the task fell to Serena.
"Serena, it was you—you told Ninth Royal Uncle to frame me, didn’t you?" Only now did Su Wan notice Serena’s presence. As soon as she saw her, she tried to lunge viciously, but with her limbs bound, all she could do was roll toward her.
"Miss Su Wan, do you have no brains? Who is Ninth Royal Uncle—do you really think I could order him around? As for framing you, where would that even come from? There are witnesses and physical evidence. If Ninth Royal Uncle hadn’t been so quick, the one lying on the ground would be him." Serena pointed at the shattered 'weapon' on the floor, barely holding back a laugh.
