Are You Sure You’re Really a Direct Heir
Staring at those five blood-soaked severed heads, Ethan Yao's eyes narrowed sharply, cold light and fury flickering within them. Two of those Profound Immortals were from his own Yao Clan.
Jude Xuanyuan and Samson Bu both looked equally grim, especially when they turned their gaze on Ian Song, making no effort to hide the murderous intent in their eyes.
As for Nangong Mingyue, Queenie Green, and Piper Willow, they stared at Ian Song in utter shock—those were five Profound Immortals!
Nangong Mingyue felt his mouth go dry and asked, "Young Master Song, did you really kill them?"
"What do you think?"
Ian Song just smiled noncommittally, then suddenly glanced up at the twenty-eight Profound Immortals in the sky. If Joy could refine all their essence blood into blood pills and consume them, maybe she could evolve into a fifth-generation vampire.
Earlier, before chopping off those five Profound Immortals' heads, Ian had Cici extract and refine their essence blood into blood pills for her own use. Cici's bloodline is far weaker than Joy's, so after consuming the blood pills refined from five Profound Immortals, she's already on the verge of breaking through and is currently in seclusion inside the Divine Temple.
For some reason, when Ian Song's gaze swept over them, all the Profound Immortals from the three clans felt a chill deep in their hearts. That look of his was just too much—like he was sizing up merchandise.
"Who are you, and do you know who we are?"
Ethan Yao strode forward, his voice booming like thunder and radiating supreme pressure. His gaze held disdain and superiority, looking down on Ian Song as if he were a god gazing at an ant.
"I don't need to know who you are, because soon you'll all be dead!" Ian Song said calmly. This was a masterstroke of his, and the results were even better than expected—he'd drawn in more than thirty Profound Immortals.
At these words, Ethan Yao flew into a rage and shouted, "How dare you! I am the direct heir of the Yao Clan from the Purple Dragon Domain—kneel and beg for mercy now!"
"Are you crazy?"
Ian Song rolled his eyes in annoyance, thinking this guy was a real idiot. Didn't he feel embarrassed saying such things?
"You lowlife, you're asking for death! Do you dare fight me one-on-one?"
Ethan Yao's face turned pitch-black, terrifyingly dark. A black war spear appeared in his hand, crackling with lightning even before he activated it—its power was truly frightening.
This was a Law-grade Immortal Artifact, imbued with the power of thunder-law. If Ethan Yao also cultivated thunder-law, the synergy would make his combat strength soar.
"Since you want to die so badly, I'll help you out!"
Ian Song rose into the sky, lining up parallel to Ethan Yao, and taunted him, clearly not taking him seriously.
And as for the battle below—it ended before it even began.
Whether they were Golden Immortals from the three great clans or those from Earth-Prime Hall, everyone retreated. A Profound Immortal battle was too terrifying—anyone caught in the crossfire could lose their life.
Called an idiot, Ethan Yao couldn't stand it anymore. Gripping his war spear, he brought down a thunderous strike on Ian Song.
"Bring it on!"
Ian Song shouted lightly and swung his hand, colliding with the lightning-wreathed war spear in midair.
Crackle!
In an instant, he was wrapped in lightning.
Seeing this, Ethan Yao sneered, "Idiot, even late-stage Profound Immortals wouldn't dare take this move head-on, yet you try to block it with your bare hands!"
"Is that so?"
Just then, Ian Song's voice rang out. The lightning covering him disappeared, as if he had absorbed it into his body.
Then, he formed a seal and punched out repeatedly.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
His punches were incredibly fierce; the void trembled as the lightning-wreathed war spear bent like a longbow. Ethan Yao, holding the spear, felt his palm go numb, nearly losing his grip.
"This kid's physical body is so bizarre—it can actually ignore the impact of law power!"
Samson Bu's gaze darkened in amazement as he watched the fight.
"He hasn't even formed an immortal body, yet possesses such a powerful physique. He must have obtained an Ancient Immortal inheritance!" Jude Xuanyuan squinted, speculating, "We must capture him. If we can force out the Ancient Immortal inheritance, we will surely...!"
On the other side, Ian Song and Ethan Yao's battle was in full swing.
Ethan Yao's moves were exquisite, and with the boost from his law-grade immortal artifact, each attack rivaled a late-stage Profound Immortal. Yet Ian Song, fighting one-handed, easily fended him off and seemed to have energy to spare.
For a moment, Ethan Yao's emotions were a tangled mess. He was the direct heir of the Yao Clan, held a superior cultivation realm, and wielded a law-grade immortal artifact—yet he couldn't overcome a low-level ascended immortal who hadn't even formed an immortal body.
If he lost to this opponent, it would be a lifelong disgrace. If he returned to the Yao Clan, he'd be the laughingstock of everyone.
No, I cannot lose!
Ethan Yao roared in his heart. Then, gripping his war spear, he retreated and activated a seed within his body.
This seed was planted by the Yao Clan's Ancestral Immortal. In moments of crisis, it could boost his strength tenfold, but only for half an hour. Only direct heirs qualified to receive it, and once used, even they could never have another seed planted.
Boom!
The ancestral seed erupted, and Ethan Yao's whole body blazed with light. His aura shot up like a rocket, surging more than tenfold in an instant.
"Die!"
Ethan Yao shouted furiously, his eyes blazing. The war spear in his hand transformed into a thunder dragon and shot toward Ian Song like lightning.
Ian Song just sneered at this.
He formed a seal and punched out, colliding head-on with the thunder dragon.
Boom!
Energy exploded, a deafening roar echoed out, and the entire void collapsed into a black hole. Buildings on the ground crumbled in swathes, forcing both sides to retreat again in shock.
When the light faded, Ian Song still stood tall in the void, white robes and black hair untouched.
He looked at Ethan Yao with utter mockery. "Is that all you've got?"
"Impossible! Again!"
Ethan Yao shouted and charged with his war spear.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The relentless collisions tore the void within a hundred miles into black holes.
But after dozens of clashes, Ethan Yao was sent flying by a punch from Ian Song, crashing to the ground in a sorry state, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
So much for being the Yao Clan's direct heir—you're not even worth a damn!
Ian Song floated above him, looking down with undisguised contempt. Over the past year, he'd spent most of his time studying formations, rarely cultivating, but even so, nourished by chaotic spiritual energy, his understanding of law had advanced by several levels.
If he fought Sima Zhen again, the guy wouldn't stand a chance.
