Ouch! That Really Hurt

After the birthday banquet ended, Queenie Zhu darted out ahead of everyone else.

Grace called out to her, "Queenie Zhu!"

Queenie Zhu stopped in her tracks and glared at her.

"Why are you in such a hurry? Where are you off to?" Grace stepped in front of her, raising an eyebrow.

"What do you want?" Queenie Zhu snapped back, full of anger.

"Loser pays up! What else?" Grace said. "Or are you trying to back out?"

"Hmph! Who's backing out?" Queenie Zhu sneered. "A loss is a loss. I can take it! Hit me if you want! Go ahead!"

"There are so many people coming and going here. Wouldn't it look bad if the elders saw?" Grace replied. "Let's go to the garden."

"Fine, let's go! You think I'm scared?" Queenie Zhu followed her to the garden.

Jenny Zhu, Cindy Zhu, and a bunch of their servants all tagged along, forming quite a crowd.

On the way there, Grace was already rummaging through her storage space.

She needed to find a third-rank Spirit Burst Pill to take.

After taking the Spirit Burst Pill, she would temporarily gain the power of a third-rank Spirit Practitioner.

She was determined to return Queenie Zhu’s slap with interest!

The group arrived at the garden. Grace stopped near a patch of beautiful Thornbell Flowers and said, "Let’s do it here!"

Queenie Zhu leaned forward, sticking her face right in front of Grace, and pointed at her own cheek. "Go ahead, hit me!"

She had secretly channeled her spiritual power to her face.

If Grace dared to slap her with just a little force, it would bounce back twice as hard!

If Grace went all out, the force would rebound with double the strength!

And knowing Grace, she’d use every ounce of strength she had for payback. When that happened... she’d probably break a bone!

She wanted this loser to learn, with blood and tears, what it meant to be a Spirit Practitioner—and what it meant to be worthless!

All the other sisters watching, including Cindy Zhu, could see exactly what Queenie Zhu was up to.

But none of them said a word.

Cindy Zhu, her own little sister, even had a glint of excitement in her eyes.

The other sisters looked on—some cold, some with a hint of pity.

But nobody spoke up to warn her.

Only Rona Zhu frowned and said, "Grace, you—"

"Shut up!" Jenny Zhu shoved her. "This is their bet—none of your business!"

Rona Zhu stumbled from the push, tears welling in her eyes. She stayed quiet.

Grace looked at the face Queenie Zhu had so boldly offered up, curled her lips into a sly smile, and—sure enough—used every bit of strength she had, landing a fierce slap!

Jenny Zhu let out a cold laugh.

Cindy Zhu’s almond-shaped eyes went wide, her excitement reaching its peak.

Rona Zhu squeezed her eyes shut, looking genuinely scared.

Smack! The sound rang out, crisp and clear.

Everyone thought Grace’s hand had snapped.

But instead, Queenie Zhu was sent flying—landing right in the patch of Thornbell Flowers, screaming, "Ah! The thorns are killing me!"

Jenny Zhu was stunned!

Cindy Zhu was stunned too.

Rona Zhu looked utterly shocked.

What just happened?

How could Grace possibly be that strong?

She actually slapped Queenie Zhu so hard she went flying!

She was supposed to be a powerless loser who couldn’t even lift a scallion—how was this possible?

Grace dusted off her hands and smiled sweetly. "Thanks for your cooperation."

Queenie Zhu struggled to her feet, covered in prickly burrs, with a clear handprint on her face. Furious, she pointed at Grace, her fingers trembling, and shouted, "Grace! What’s your deal? How are you so strong?"
