I sat in the passenger seat, barely alive. The car didn’t shake at all—it was flying. I knew this was a paper car; I’d ridden one before.
“Brother Ethan, hang in there. I know where your place is, but for us little ghosts, we don’t dare go near it.”
I gave a weak smile and shook my head, pressing both hands to my chest. The bleeding had stopped, and I kept holding on.
“Why are you passing through here?”
“Hey, Brother Ethan, lately me and those two guys found a job—cab drivers. We work for a company now, heh, the pay’s decent and it’s pretty steady.”
“Ghosts need to take cars too?”
“Of course. For us at the very bottom, traveling far is tough. Fly for a bit and we’re done for—cars are way faster.”
The car sped along. Everything outside the window flashed by in an instant. Luckily, it was late at night, so there weren’t many people. The few we did pass were so terrified they screamed, but I couldn’t worry about that now.
There was only one thought in my mind: get back and call for help.
Before long, I arrived at the main road in front of the apartment building. But I couldn’t move at all. Leo Huang nervously looked up at the building, supporting me.
"Brother Ethan, are you really okay? I’m a little scared—every time I come here, I get scared."
I smiled and said.
"Please, help me inside."
Leo Huang supported me as we walked into the apartment building. As soon as we entered, he suddenly let out a loud cry, clutching his head and crouching on the floor. I collapsed too.
"Hey, you little ghost, if you’re holding me, don’t let go!"
Yuna Ji grabbed me just in time.
"Oh, brother, you’re pretty badly hurt. Where have you been these past few days? I couldn’t sense you at all."
John Chou smiled and walked over. I shook my head, anxious. The ghosts in the courtyard crowded around, all talking at once.
“Quiet!” Yuna Ji shouted, and the questioning stopped.
“Ethan, go ahead. Whatever it is, we’re all listening!”
Suddenly, tears streamed down my face.
“Please, I’m begging you all—help me, help me, save her…” As soon as I finished, my mind went fuzzy and I passed out.
A sharp pain stabbed my forehead and I woke up, feeling much better. Wayne Harris was there, sticking silver needles into my head.
“Ethan, drink this medicine first.” Yuna Ji said, handing me a bowl of black soup. I drank it down. Wayne Harris looked puzzled, but I couldn’t worry about that.
“Help me, save her… please…”
“Hey, Brother Ethan, who bullied you? Tell me, where are they?”
Then John Chou walked over, holding a white tooth that was already broken in half.
“Looks like this thing blocked our connection. No wonder I couldn’t sense you these past few days. Brother, get some rest—don’t go out.”
I got up. All the ghosts were watching me.
“Go ahead, Ethan. Us three old guys will go with you.”
“Master Ethan, perfect timing. I was planning to take a few of them out for some field training anyway. Go ahead.”
Leo Huang was still kneeling nearby, looking terrified.
“Get up, Xiao Long. Please, take me there one more time.”
Then all the ghosts in the courtyard left. The paper car was crawling with them. I sat in the passenger seat. The Shade Trio sat in the back, Samantha Simons and her group of female ghosts perched on the roof, and Evan Zhao and Justin Lee sat on the rear bumper.
I was badly hurt and could only ride in the car. I couldn’t move at all. Leo Huang started the car.
The car sped down the road. I felt my body slowly recovering—I could even lift my hand a little. After more than ten minutes, Samantha Simons suddenly shouted.
“Stop for a moment.”
Leo Huang slammed on the brakes. The three ghosts in the back crashed into each other.
“You brat, what are you doing?”
As we spoke, I heard the roar of engines from the street nearby. In no time, three or four black vans stopped right across from us.
“Ethan, where have you been these past few days?”
Rachel Lan was the first to rush down.
“No time to explain. How did you know I was here?”
“John Chou called and told us. We’ve all been searching for you these days. But seriously, Ethan, what are you planning? Bringing five Blue Wraiths and so many fierce ghosts—what’s with this lineup? Isn’t it a bit much?”
I let out a sound. Hugh Thompson smiled and walked over. I told them the address of the psychiatric hospital, and the paper car started up again.
With a creak, the paper car stopped at the entrance of the psychiatric hospital. I’d recovered a lot by now and could move.
With a bang, the hospital doors blasted open on their own. I walked in alone.
“Show yourself!” I roared, and stepped inside. There was no one, just the lights on.
Soon, the director’s voice rang out.
“Hmph, you dare come back? Ethan Zhang, heh, this time you won’t get away.” It was the director, coming out of the building with an evil grin. Around him stood dozens of staff members, all turned into ghosts, appearing one after another.
“Even if you’ve unlocked the Earth Fang and can use death energy, you’re still no match for me.” The director said, coming closer. Instantly, all the ghosts floated over and surrounded me.
“Where’s my friend Justin Huang?” I asked.
“You don’t need to know.” The director said, approaching. I gave a faint smile.
“There’s a saying—times have changed. Don’t you realize your situation? I suggest you hand over my friend, or else…”
Before I finished, the director suddenly charged right up to me, swinging a fist at my face.
With a dull thud, the director’s fist hit a black scorpion tail that blocked me. He stared in shock.

“Oh, what a curious human!”
Evan Zhao’s voice sounded. Suddenly, all the ghosts around whimpered and ran. Behind me, a green light flared up, and all the ghosts appeared.
“Looks like there aren’t any other enemies nearby. Ethan, I just checked.”
Wayne Harris stepped in front of me, and terror flashed in the director’s eyes.
“Ethan Zhang, what are you trying to do?”
“Nothing much—just brought some friends to fight.” I roared, swinging my fist. Death energy surged out as I punched the director’s face. With a bang, he flew back, blood spewing from his mouth, then screamed and tried to run.
“Lantern, Lantern…”
A silly, goofy voice rang out. Then I saw a tongue whip out, wrapping around the director’s leg. With a crack, his leg snapped like a matchstick. The tongue coiled around him as Lantern giggled with excitement.
“Lantern, stop—don’t kill the fat guy.” Wayne Harris said, tapping Lantern on the head with his cane.
“You’d better tell us everything you know. Otherwise, we’ve got a ghost here who’s especially good at torture.”
Petals swirled in the air as Samantha Simons appeared in front of the director.
With a bang, Evan Zhao suddenly crouched beside the director, aiming a huge black scorpion tail at him.
“That’s me, you fat pig. Spill what you know, or I’ll show you what real pain is.”
I walked over, step by step.
“Boring. Just a dead fat pig, and you called us out.” Rose Harper said, floating upward.
“Rose, hurry and help me search. There’s a Blue Wraith here—find his ghost domain.”
Wayne Harris led the other ghosts, flying into the building.
“Where’s Justin Huang?”
The director shook his head in pain.
“I... I don’t know…”
I looked at Evan Zhao.
“All right, Ethan, I’ll give this fat pig a taste of something nasty.”
“I really don’t know, I swear! I barely escaped that ghost domain—he’s nuts, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Even wanted to turn me into a zombie.”
After a while, Rose Harper came out excitedly, and the Ghost Burial Squad arrived. Hugh Thompson called headquarters to request an immediate lockdown of the scene.
After securing the director, I went to the entrance of the ghost domain with the five Blue Wraiths.
“What do we do to get in? It looks pretty complicated inside.”
“Take it apart,” I said, and charged in first.
“That’s right, Ethan, you’re clever. I didn’t even think of it—just dismantle his ghost domain.”
Once inside, in a flash, the five Blue Wraiths sprang into action. Samantha Simons transformed into a flurry of cherry blossoms, slicing open the prison cells with a crisp sound.
“There seem to be a lot of places. Can we dismantle them all?”
“Even if he has thousands of cells, I have thousands of cherry blossoms.”
Wayne Harris spoke as Samantha Simons transformed into even more cherry blossoms.
“Lantern, Lantern…”
The Lantern Spirit shrieked. In an instant, countless mouths sprouted all over its swollen body, tongues lashing out. The cell, the walls, the floor—all began to crumble and split apart.
In John Chou’s hand, a small black cockroach crawled out, gradually transforming into a massive one. It began to wreak havoc.
"Old man, just watch from the sidelines. If you make a move, there won’t be any safe ground left for us. I’ll give the kids inside something even fiercer."
Just as Red Poem finished speaking, a fierce, respectful voice echoed from nearby.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t know what crime I’ve committed against you, for you to go to such lengths."
I replied coldly.
"Get out here, or I’ll tear apart your ghost domain."
