So Embarrassing

Grace had no idea what she meant, and her eyes were full of confusion.

"Heh heh!" At that moment, the Phoenix Lord laughed and said, "It's been years since we've met, but the Qilin Lord is as charming as ever! Look at that little maid standing behind the Celestial Empress—you're staring so hard, you even tilted your fan! Hahaha!"

Lord Soren Quinn glanced at Grace.

His gaze was calm, as if nothing could bother him. Yet at the same time, it felt as though it could take in the whole world...

His eyes reminded her of her master...

Soren Quinn gave a small smile and sat down in his seat.

Then Grace finally realized what was going on.

The maid the Phoenix Lord was talking about—the one being stared at so intently, the one with the crooked fan... was her.

She looked up at her fan, and sure enough...

She hurriedly straightened her fan.

What an embarrassment!

Suddenly, the temperature seemed to drop sharply. Grace shrank back a little, sneaking a glance at Evan Xiao from the corner of her eye.

He showed no emotion at all.

But that cheerful vibe from before was gone, replaced by the same cold, intimidating aura he always had...

And he seemed to notice Grace looking at him—he shot her a glance.

His look was anything but pleasant.

Grace immediately stared straight ahead, standing perfectly still and proper.

Thankfully, halfway through the banquet, things got less formal.

When no one was paying attention, she found the real fan-holding maid to take her spot and slipped away herself.

The Celestial Hall was the highest place in the Celestial Palace.

Not only was the inside of the Celestial Hall massive, but outside was an enormous terrace, with lush gardens and side platforms on both sides.

Grace originally wanted to find a way out of here.

But after searching around, she gave up.

There was simply no way out.

Flying was the only option.

Of course, it was Evan Xiao who brought her up here. Big Scarlet and Little Scarlet weren't allowed in, so she could only wander off to a quiet corner by herself.

As she strolled around, she found a spot with a spectacular view that made her feel totally refreshed.

She sat down there, leaned against a big rock, and happily admired the beauty of Drake Abyss.

After a while, someone approached from behind.

Grace turned around and saw it was Lord Soren Quinn, dressed all in white.

Grace quickly got up and bowed. "Greetings, Divine Lord!"

Soren Quinn looked at her and said, "I remember you. You're the one who was holding the fan in the Celestial Hall today."

"Heh heh!" Grace laughed a little awkwardly. "Sorry for making a fool of myself in front of you, Divine Lord!"

"What are you doing here?"

"Just enjoying the view," Grace replied. "It's my first time up here in the Celestial Hall, and the scenery is amazing."

Lord Soren Quinn stood beside her, gazing into the distance. "Yes, it's beautiful. You get the whole Drake Abyss in one glance."

Grace snuck a peek at him. "Divine Lord, I have a question for you—would you mind?"

"What is it?"

"I read in a book that you've held the Divine Lord title for over ten thousand years. Are you really over ten thousand years old?"

Soren Quinn smiled at her. "Are you wondering why I look so young?"

"Yes!" Grace nodded eagerly. "Do you take some kind of anti-aging pill?"

If only she could get her hands on such a pill—she could make a fortune selling them one day...

But Soren Quinn didn't answer. Instead, he asked, "You're not afraid of me?"

"Afraid?" Grace was genuinely confused. "Why would I be?"

"Most of the Divine Race are afraid of me," Soren Quinn said. "Especially since you're just a Spirit Master."

"Hmm... I guess it's because you remind me a lot of my master," Grace said. "So when I see you, I just feel kind of... familiar!"
