A Powerful Foe Approaches

1/5/2026

Late at night, in a luxury black car outside Dragonridge City, Fourth Lady Huo was gritting her teeth, punishing those Huo family servants who only cared about their own skins and ran for their lives.

"Beat them within an inch of their lives! I want to see bodies tonight!" Fourth Lady Huo screamed, her voice so fierce it could probably be heard miles away.

The Four Heavenly Kings stood to either side, hearts pounding. Fourth Lady Huo was infamous for her viciousness and never letting a grudge go. After the humiliation she ate at Divine Medicine Valley today, there was no way she’d just let it slide.

Under her brutal orders, someone had already been beaten to death.

They’d just escaped thanks to Ryan Ling, only to die at the hands of their own clan—just another tragedy of a powerful family.

"Did you get through to our Hong Kong contacts yet?" Fourth Lady Huo wiped blood from her hands, her expression downright deranged.

"N-no, not yet. I don’t know what’s up with the home office—they’re just not replying!" The servant barely finished before Fourth Lady Huo slapped him straight to the floor.

"Enough excuses! If you don’t get through in ten minutes, I’ll put you down myself!" Fourth Lady Huo snarled, grinding her teeth so loud it echoed. Nobody else dared make a sound—their faces had gone green with fear.

But right then, one of the older, slyer servants rushed up to Fourth Lady Huo. "Fourth Lady, the home office still isn’t answering, but I’ve got some big news you’ll want to hear!"

"Out with it! Don’t waste my time!" Fourth Lady Huo snorted coldly, her voice cracking like a gunshot.

The old servant swallowed hard and blurted out, "That guy Ryan Ling killed a young man named Nate Ye at the Jiangdong Seven-City Martial Arts Tournament not long ago. Nate Ye's master is a real monster—Tiger Hua..."

Before the servant could finish, Lady Four Huo snapped: "Out with it! Don’t waste my time! You mean Tiger Hua—the number-one Chinese fighter in North America?"

"Exactly! That's him. His disciple got killed, so he came back to Jiangdong Province a few days ago. Word just came in—he rushed overnight from Wuzhou to Dragonridge, and he’s here for blood! Tiger Hua is top dog among Chinese fighters in North America, and rumor says he hit Purple Realm ages ago—he can slice a waterfall in half with one sword! If he goes after that kid, Ryan’s a dead man!" The old servant was practically fired up now.

Lang Chen had clearly been waiting for this chance. Instantly, he dropped to his knees and kowtowed to Lady Four Huo: "I’ll go through fire and water for you, Lady Four—my loyalty is yours!"

"Right, if he comes, everything’s easy. Plus, Tiger Hua is a Rudder Master in the North-American branch of the Hong Syndicate—his status is special, and the forces behind him are strong. I bet he’s not coming to Jiangdong Province alone, either. Heh!"

Everyone around, including the Four Blue Realm grandmasters, swallowed hard. Lady Four Huo had been holding back for days—she was about to explode!

A moment later, shrieks so wild they rattled the RV rang out from inside!

It sounded like two wild women in a deathmatch on Divine Medicine Island.

But everyone in the Huo Clan knew the score: Lady Four Huo’s rise—in the clan and even in Hong Kong—was all thanks to her infamous special skills. They called her Spider Woman, and her mature-woman techniques were legendary. For most Huo Clan servants, their biggest dream was a night with Lady Four.

So seeing Lang Chen get lucky tonight, everyone swallowed hard—the envy in their hearts was off the charts.

"Good point. What's your name?" Instantly, Lady Four Huo was much more interested in this old-timer.

"Lang Chen!" he blurted out, introducing himself quickly.

"Lang Chen, you really do live up to your name. Nicely done. Akun's dead—how about you become my new right-hand man?" Lady Four Huo beckoned him over, looking very interested.

Lang Chen had clearly been waiting for this chance a long time. In a flash, he dropped to his knees and kowtowed to Lady Four Huo: "I’ll go through fire and water for you, Lady Four—my loyalty is yours!"

"Good, very good! Come, Lang Chen—tonight I want to test some of your other skills!" Lady Four Huo grabbed him and headed straight for the RV nearby.

Everyone around, including the four Blue Realm grandmasters, swallowed hard. Lady Four Huo had been holding back for days—she couldn't wait any longer!

A moment later, shrieks so intense they shook the RV rang out from inside!

It sounded almost like two wild women battling it out on Divine Medicine Island.

But most of the Huo Clan knew the truth: Lady Four Huo’s rise in the clan—and even in Hong Kong—was all thanks to her special skills. Her notorious nickname was Spider Woman, and her mature woman’s techniques were absolutely peerless. For many Huo Clan servants, their biggest dream was to enjoy a night with Lady Four.

So when they saw Lang Chen favored tonight, everyone swallowed hard—the envy in their hearts was off the charts.

"It’s complicated—I can’t explain right now!" Ryan said, giving Cindy Sun a gentle nudge to wake her.

He admired Cindy Sun’s jade-like body, still feeling restless. This little cutie always made his inner fire flare up. Just then, Ryan noticed something flash on her chest.

Surprised, Ryan saw it was a thin necklace hanging around her neck. Last night’s passion left no room to notice jewelry, but now he realized this necklace was special. It seemed to radiate a strange power, like vines wrapping him up, filling him with an irresistible urge.

"Ryan, that’s a treasure—a real treasure! I sense Wood-Element Immortal Arts on it!" The System shouted inside him, sounding even more excited than Ryan.

"Hey, that’s not what I meant. You two really are sisters!" Ryan shook his head, then refocused: "Where did you get this necklace?"

"Exactly! Immortal arts come in metal, wood, water, fire, and earth attributes. This necklace is pure wood-element. Ask her where it came from—if you can learn this Wood-Element Immortal Art, your strength will skyrocket. Even if you can’t cultivate it yet, just wearing it gives you huge defense. Wood-element defenses are second only to metal—super powerful!" The System was so excited it nearly wanted to grab it itself.

Ryan didn’t hesitate and reached out to touch it—but just then, Angie Chen woke up and grabbed his hand.

"Pervert! You wore Cindy out a dozen times last night and you’re still not done? If you’ve got any beastly urges left, come mess with me instead!"

"Take me to your mom—now!" Ryan grabbed Cindy’s hand, more urgent than ever...

"The necklace? Is it really that important?"

"It’s complicated—I can’t explain right now!" Ryan said, quickly nudging Cindy Sun awake.

Cindy Sun rubbed her eyes and mumbled, "Is it morning already?"

Ryan quickly hugged her. "Cindy, about that necklace on your chest..."

"Ryan, wait—don’t. I’m still sore down there..."

"Hey, that’s not what I meant. You two really are sisters!" Ryan shook his head, then got back on topic: "Where did you get this necklace?"

"Necklace? You mean this one?" Cindy blinked, then quickly took it off and handed it to Ryan.

"Yeah, where did it come from?" Ryan asked excitedly.

"It’s from Divine Medicine Valley. My mom made it for me—it’s just an ordinary necklace!" Cindy said, looking even more confused.

"Take me to see your mom—hurry!" Ryan grabbed Cindy’s hand, urgent as ever...
