She gripped the dagger tightly, pressing it against her own throat.

Belle's hand trembled violently.

From the wound, a drop of bright red blood slid down the gleaming blade, staining her slender fingers. The Tusita Palace boys exchanged glances, unsettled.

The stubborn resolve in her eyes left the Tusita Palace boys momentarily stunned.

“Miss Belle, please don’t...”

“I—I want to see Lord Lao,” she choked out.

One of the Tusita Palace boys stepped forward cautiously. "Miss Belle, you know what kind of person Lord Lao is. He’s in seclusion—how could he possibly..."

"If you won’t take me, I’ll go myself. Move aside... all of you, move aside..."

She advanced step by step, tears glimmering in her eyes.

The knife tip pressed deeper into her flesh.

Both Tusita Palace boys retreated in a panic.

They almost wished it were Birdie threatening her life now instead.

Belle was someone they dared not harm. After all, she was favored by Lord Lao.

Behind them, Birdie watched in a daze.

To leave this courtyard, she had thought of countless ways, but never succeeded.

She truly couldn’t understand where this frail woman found such courage. What had happened? What was she trying to do? To see Lord Lao, she was actually willing to risk her life?

For an instant, her head throbbed faintly, as if something was awakening—flashes of memory, the essence of the Sage's Path.

"Let her come," a voice sounded in the Tusita Palace boys’ minds.

"Yes, Lord Lao."

The two Tusita Palace boys quickly stepped aside to clear a path.
