Chapter 547: Inferno Fortress
"Merlin... Archmage Leon..."
Just as Leon entered Inferno Fortress, he ran into an acquaintance—Larn Merlin, the very Title Archmage who had once accompanied him into the Winter Plane. Yet now, facing Leon, the Fourth Level Title Archmage seemed unusually nervous. After uttering a single greeting, a sheen of cold sweat broke out across his forehead.
He couldn't help it—the young mage before him had left too many psychological scars. Larn barely dared to meet Leon's eyes, especially after their ordeal in the Snow Wraith Mirage. He'd thought he was doomed then and had vented all his pent-up resentment toward the young mage...
Just thinking about it made cold sweat run down his back. The past few days had been spent in constant anxiety, fearing Leon would come looking for trouble.
He even wondered if he should request a transfer from the Ancestral Grounds, just to get out of the Blazeforge Realm.
But before he could make up his mind, he ran into the young mage again...
Talk about bad luck...
"Heh, Lord Larn..." Leon smiled and nodded, then noticed that the interior of Inferno Fortress seemed oddly empty. He frowned, "Has something happened recently?"
Inferno Fortress was one of the seven major strongholds in the Blazeforge Realm—its importance self-evident. Even with the Merlin Family's forces spread thin, there should still be at least three Title Archmages stationed here. Yet now, the magical array covered the entire fortress, and aside from Larn Merlin, there was no sign of any other Title Archmage.
