Unstable Cultivation

The reason Evan Yang originally hid his identity was out of concern for the Rising Sun Sect. But now, with his identity already exposed, he no longer hides and begins using his real name.

"So it's Brother Yang. May I ask which sect you belong to, and who is your master?" Linden Lin, having failed to break the seal after several days, assumed it was the work of a talented disciple using some magical treasure.

Evan could easily see through his probing, but simply shook his head. "I don't really have a master."

"Oh? So you're a free cultivator?" Linden, who had been cautious and polite, now dropped the formal tone and addressed Evan as 'fellow Daoist' instead of 'sir.'

Evan caught the change in tone and smiled. "What, are you planning to take it by force?"

"Stinking beggar, what are you saying? It was ours to begin with! If anyone is robbing, it's you! If you don't hand it over today, you'll die right here!" With his senior present, Calvin Xie—despite having been taught a lesson by Evan before—still cursed confidently.

"Fellow Daoist, you'd better think carefully. If you don't hand it over, you'll be making an enemy of our entire sect. Then, you'll face the pursuit of all our disciples alone!" Linden Lin, always a hypocrite, sounded polite before, but now revealed his true arrogant colors.

"Your entire sect?" Evan retorted with a laugh.

"Obviously! Jade Rabbit is a key protected target of our sect!" Calvin Xie snorted, and Linden Lin looked at Evan with disdain.

"Let me tell you this: no matter what, Jade Rabbit is my friend. I won't hand her over, even if it costs me my life. So please stop harassing me." Evan wasn't intimidated at all, especially since Jade Rabbit had helped him so much—he would never abandon her.
