The Smug Little Cat

Ethan Gray watched her smug little display and couldn't help but laugh quietly, agreeing, "Yes, she's really quite ugly."

Quentin Yu was furious. "Divine Beast, just because you are a Divine Beast, does that mean you can hurt people at will? If this is what a Divine Beast is like, I have to question whether all those legends are true!"

Yuna was angry too, though she didn't bristle; her gaze turned dangerously sharp. "Old man, get your facts straight. She tried to kill me first. Why else would I have acted? Do you think I have time to waste playing with some brat who can't grow up?"

Quentin Yu glanced at Celia Yu, his face full of doubt. "Divine Beast, you say Celia tried to kill you? Why would she want to do that for no reason?"

Ethan Gray was already losing patience. If not for his good mood—thanks to his jealous little kitten—he would have exploded long ago.

Yuna pressed his hand, urging him to hold back. She narrowed her eyes, a flash of gold and silver glinting within them. No one could bully Yuna. Since this old man couldn't tell right from wrong, she didn't need to be polite!

Just as Ethan Gray thought she would leap over to deal with Quentin Yu, the dangerous aura around Yuna vanished. Her expression dramatically shifted to one of pitiful vulnerability, her eyes brimming with unshed tears as she whimpered, "Why are you so fierce? Is it just because I didn't agree to speak well of your daughter to the Dark Lord? So now she wants to kill me, and you treat me so harshly! Now I understand why she's so unreasonable—like father, like daughter. The Dark Lord doesn't even like her, and from what I've observed, she's not worthy of him. As a Divine Beast, how could I favor her just because she begged me? If that's all it takes, what if someone took a liking to you and asked me for help—should I drug you and deliver you to her bed, whether she's a beggar or has a disease?"

Her big, dark eyes stared at Quentin Yu, making it clear that if he said yes, she'd drug him and toss him onto a beggar's bed without hesitation.

Quentin Yu was left speechless, while Ethan Gray was momentarily stunned. He suddenly wondered if this little kitten had been playing dumb all along!

Most people were already siding with Ethan Gray and Yuna, but after hearing Yuna's words, the gossip about the Yu father and daughter grew even louder. Still, a few wore strange expressions, having noticed the fleeting gold and silver light in Yuna's eyes.

"Gold-Silver Mystic Eyes?!" someone exclaimed.

Others who saw it quickly chimed in, "I saw it too! It's really the Gold-Silver Mystic Eyes!"

Instead of fear, the crowd's faces were filled with excitement. Legend has it that a Divine Beast with Gold-Silver Mystic Eyes possesses limitless power, and if you sincerely move her, any wish can be granted.

Most people hadn't taken these stories seriously, not even the legends of the Divine Beast. But now, with the Divine Beast appearing before them, they couldn't help but believe. Some had regretted that the Divine Beast had fallen into the Dark Lord's hands and was out of their reach. Yet now, seeing she had the Gold-Silver Mystic Eyes, even if they couldn't possess her, as long as they could move her sincerely, their wishes might come true. How could they not be excited?

Feeling the burning gazes, Yuna grew frustrated. Thanks to their reminder, she finally remembered the legend. But she really wanted to protest! Sometimes, because of her father, her eyes would turn gold and silver for a moment before fading—it's just a hereditary trait!

Just like her soul power, which she brought with her into this world—how did it end up matching that legend so perfectly?

Truth be told, Yuna was truly fortunate. Normally, being a Divine Beast would mean being fought over, and some might even try to destroy her if they couldn't have her. But the legends not only raised her value, they protected her too.

Looking at the crowd's excitement, if they could, they'd probably worship her.

But heaven knows, Yuna was really annoyed—she didn't want people kneeling before her every day, begging for favors!

Ethan Gray couldn't help but frown; he too foresaw the trouble ahead.

As for Quentin Yu, he could say nothing more. If he kept making trouble for Yuna, he'd be setting himself against everyone. So even if Yuna had truly hurt Celia Yu for no reason, he could only swallow his anger. Besides, he hadn't forgotten: anyone who harms the Divine Beast is said to be cursed by heaven.

Faced with the crowd's heated gazes, Yuna immediately played turtle, burrowing into Ethan Gray's collar and curling up motionless inside. Ethan couldn't help but laugh at the bulge on his chest—cause trouble and she knows to hide!

Before Ethan could say anything, Lynn Yee, ever perceptive, spoke up, "The Divine Beast is tired. I think no one wants to risk angering her, right?" Secretly, he thought to himself that this so-called Divine Beast was just a silly little kitten—one with a serious ostrich complex.

Not wanting to anger the Divine Beast, the crowd gradually dispersed. After all, as long as she was with the Dark Lord, they could always find her through him. Their wishes could wait; for now, it was best to think of how to win her favor. Rumor had it, the Divine Beast loved good food...

Everyone started thinking about where the best food could be found, forgetting all about the obvious flirtation between the Dark Lord and the Divine Beast.

Ethan Gray patted the bulge on his chest, chuckling, "They're all gone now."

Yuna wriggled out, poking her head out and nuzzling Ethan's chest pitifully. "Dark Lord, you should keep me hidden!"

Ethan Gray poked her head and raised an eyebrow, "Now you know to hide? Weren't you so bold just a moment ago?"

Yuna clung to his collar, whining, "I was just righting wrongs and settling scores!"

Her big, watery eyes blinked as if asking, 'What's wrong with that?' Ethan picked up her paw and frowned at the traces of blood. He was about to say something when his gaze suddenly darkened and he said coldly, "Come out!"
