You Still Dare to Argue
He took the medicine with both hands, tears blurring his eyes. "I was born with demonic qi. Whether spirit beast or human, god or immortal, no one has ever treated me this kindly!"
Lucia Lu sighed and said, "Once you return, don't get involved in human kingdoms' wars anymore. Find a place to heal properly."
"Alright!" said the Demon Beast. "I'll do more good deeds, kill less, and build temples and shrines for the Divine Lady, worshipping you every day!"
Lucia Lu laughed, "Building temples and shrines isn't necessary. Killing less is just what you ought to do. You really need to keep your demonic qi under control. If you can't manage it yourself, go to the Spirit Alliance. I'll let them know to help you out."
The Demon Beast nodded and, escorted by the Divine Guard, was about to leave Drake Abyss.
But after a few steps, he suddenly came back, conjured a jade slip, and said, "Divine Lady, I want to give this to you!"
"What's this?" Lucia Lu asked.
"It's my original Invisibility Technique," said the Demon Beast. "You saved my life, Divine Lady, but I'm just a humble immortal with average cultivation and no money. I really have nothing else to repay you, except this technique. I've tested it hundreds of times—it works great! I hope you'll accept it."
Lucia Lu took it and said, "I was wondering how you got into the Celestial Hall—so it was the Invisibility Technique! Alright, I'll accept it. Thank you!"
The Demon Beast grinned, showing off a few big white teeth, and finally left.
Feeling quite at ease, Lucia Lu turned to head into the Celestial Hall.
But as she turned around, she unexpectedly saw Ethan Lu, glaring at her with a fierce expression.
"Ah! Big Brother... Why are you out here?"
"Just getting some fresh air? The scenery outside the hall is so majestic—take your time and enjoy it, I'll head inside first..." She tried to slip past Ethan Lu and make her escape.
"Stop."
Lucia Lu instantly froze, not daring to move.
Ethan Lu walked up to her. "Did you know that Demon Beast before today?"
"Nope! Today's the first time I've ever seen him," Lucia Lu replied.
"Then why did you make such a scene for him?" Ethan Lu's eyes were icy cold, his authority unmistakable even without anger.
"I wasn't doing it for anyone in particular. I saw the Clarity Charm in Fifth Highness's hand beforehand, figured he was a victim too, and thought his crime didn't deserve death!"
"So, you just did a good deed and saved someone's life, pure and simple?"
"Exactly! What else would it be?"
"Do you realize how much face you made the Azure Dragon Lord and Leo Li lose today? Liam was Leo's most beloved son, being groomed as the next Young Master Drake. With this scandal, he's definitely lost any chance at inheriting the Azure Dragon Lord's seat!"
"That's not my fault, is it?" Lucia Lu said. "Honestly, if they'd just admitted it themselves, His Majesty might not have gotten angry at all... Besides, I already gave them a hint."
"You're still arguing!" Ethan Lu snapped, furious.
"How am I arguing?" Lucia Lu protested. "Big Brother, tell me—what did I do wrong? Are you saying that if I knew the truth, I should've just let someone die instead of saving them?"
"Looks like you've gotten soft from spending too much time in the Spirit Alliance!" Ethan Lu grabbed her hand. "You don't need to stay in the Divine Guard Camp anymore—come home with me!"
"Big Brother! I don't want to!" Lucia Lu struggled.
"Come on! If you stay here any longer, who knows what kind of trouble you'll cause for the Divine Lord or our family!"
"No!" Lucia Lu looked behind him. "Divine Lord!"
Ethan Lu let go of her and turned to look.
But there was no sign of the Divine Lord anywhere.
When he turned back, Lucia Lu was already gone.
Ethan Lu took a deep breath.
