Chapter 1464

Even if you destroy its body, as long as the soul isn't completely annihilated, you can't hide what happened. It won't be long before the Nightmare Leotail comes for revenge. And if the Leotail Overlord shows up—always two ranks above you—what's the point of fighting? Might as well stretch your neck and wait for death.

But a Nightmare Leotail without its tail has lost all its proud defenses, lost the power to transform, lost the ability to send its soul away to await resurrection upon death.

A Nightmare Leotail like that, appearing in the ocean, would be a feast for any creature bold enough to try a bite—if not a thousand, at least hundreds would take their chances.

Tubby quietly stayed by my side, and after pointing the way, kept his mouth shut.

Leon stared at the little path ahead, feeling a strong sense of déjà vu. The trail stretched deep into the forest, looking exactly like one from his memories.

Yet there was nothing obviously wrong with the surroundings. Leon took a quiet breath and led Tubby onto the path.

The moment Leon stepped onto the path, he glanced back—only to see the coastline had vanished, replaced by a trail stretching into the forest, as if he’d materialized in the very middle of it.

But space, elements, mana—none of it felt off. Everything seemed perfectly normal.

Leon wasn’t surprised. The Realm of Nightmares is, after all, the Lord of Nightmares’ dream. Anything can happen here. The Lord is so powerful that his dream is barely different from a real world.
