Why Are You So Foolish

Joe Di saw that Darren Rice had entangled Franklin Young, and instantly realized this was the perfect moment to kill a Kunpeng Clan powerhouse. The Azure Veil Blade transformed into a curtain of blades, sealing Ken Wayne's vitality and severing the void of this domain.

Ken Wayne suddenly felt an overwhelming cosmic pressure crashing down, and his escape technique slammed into an endless wall of decay, sending him tumbling out of the void.

Before he could hit the ground, Ken Wayne sensed the approach of death. His domain was locked by the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram’s aura, leaving him unable to expand his own domain to resist Joe Di. Facing the blade curtain that was about to tear apart his lifeforce, Ken Wayne could only desperately burn his blood essence and send the serrated gong whirling toward Joe Di.

Boom! The curtain of blades collided with a wild flurry of serrated shadows, shattering the space once again. The explosion of such powerful force even made the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram tremble violently.

Crack! The blade curtain shattered, and the serrated shadows were likewise reduced to broken fragments. Joe Di twisted his body slightly, and the Azure Veil Blade was summoned once more.

Pfft! A sudden spray of blood tore open at Joe Di’s chest, startling him. His blade curtain had clearly shattered Ken Wayne’s serrated gong shadow, but unexpectedly, even after breaking apart, the serrated shadow managed to recondense, injuring him a second time.

After wounding Joe Di, Ken Wayne tried to escape once more. This time, he realized immediately that unless Joe Di withdrew the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram, he had no chance to flee. At this moment, he was almost certain that Joe Di’s Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram was an innate treasure.

As Ken Wayne forcibly attempted to flee, the oppressive force of the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram swept over him again. The tiny domain space he had just managed to expand shattered once more.

Joe Di ignored his own injuries completely, tearing through space with the Azure Veil Blade toward Ken Wayne.

With the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram in hand, killing Ken Wayne was no longer difficult. What Joe Di worried about was that before he could finish Ken Wayne, Ken Blaze might return.

Ken Wayne once more frantically burned his blood essence. Just as he tried to activate the serrated gong for a second time, Joe Di’s Azure Veil Blade crossed the void and arrived at his brow.

Ken Wayne’s thoughts stalled at that moment. He stopped struggling and watched the blade light flash before him, murmuring, “Spatial stagnation—this is Chrono Mastery…”

With Chrono Mastery, Joe Di could not be defeated even without the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram. At worst, he could simply escape if he couldn’t win.

Pfft! As the blood mist exploded at Ken Wayne’s brow, despair and regret flooded his consciousness. But his despair and regret weren’t for his own life—they were for the Kunpeng Clan.

He was certain that the Kunpeng Clan had provoked Joe Di, and that could only mean disaster. He desperately wanted to warn Ken Blaze that to kill Joe Di, only the Kunpeng Dao Fusion Ancestor could succeed. But at that moment, his consciousness was swallowed by darkness.

Franklin Young was trapped by Joe Di’s Deathtrap Array, and with Darren Rice tangling him at the side, he had no chance to escape. Seeing Joe Di even summon the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram, his heart sank deeper than Ken Wayne’s.

When Franklin Young saw Joe Di kill Ken Wayne with a single slash, he cried out anxiously, “Brother Di, I never intended to harm you! It was Ken Blaze of the Kunpeng Clan—he found me and forced me…”

Boom boom boom! Franklin Young couldn’t finish his words; as Joe Di killed Ken Wayne, he sent a punch crashing over. Clearly, Joe Di had no intention of believing him.

Wave after wave of Fist Mountains surged forth, and Franklin Young simply closed his eyes. He knew that even if he blocked these Fist Mountains, he wouldn’t survive Joe Di’s next blade. And even if he did, above him loomed not only the Deathtrap Array but also the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram—escape was impossible. In that case, he might as well not resist.

Bang bang! The Fist Mountains crushed forward, and Franklin Young was reduced to nothingness.

Joe Di pocketed two rings, and the Azure Veil Blade suddenly swept out, trapping Lowell Huen. Lowell’s face turned ashen. If Franklin Young could at least put up a fight for a while, Lowell Huen, beneath Joe Di’s domain killing intent, could only wait for death.

Pfft! Another streak of blood mist swept by, and one of Lowell Huen’s arms was severed by Joe Di’s Azure Veil Blade.

Lowell Huen gritted his teeth and said nothing, not even bothering to defend himself. Joe Di glanced at him and said coolly, “Since you didn’t attack me of your own accord, I’ll spare you this time. Let’s go, Darren—let’s talk outside.”

With that, Joe Di raised his hand, gathered his Array Banners, and swiftly stepped out of Shadowhold.

Darren Rice cupped his fists to Lowell Huen and immediately followed Joe Di out.

Once outside Shadowhold, Darren Rice cupped his fists to Joe Di and said, “Thank you, Brother Di, for not holding it against me for sitting with the Kunpeng Clan and Franklin Young earlier.”

Joe Di smiled. “I know you had no choice.”

“Brother Di, since that’s the case, why not stay and deal with Ken Blaze?” Darren Rice asked, puzzled.

Logically, after killing Ken Wayne and Franklin Young, with the Deathtrap Array and his help, Joe Di could also kill Ken Blaze when he returned.

Joe Di glanced toward the Void Market. “The moment Ken Wayne was killed, Ken Blaze already knew. Ken Blaze is much sharper than Ken Wayne. With Ken Wayne dead, Ken Blaze will never come back alone. Even if he does return, he’ll bring an army of helpers. So Ken Blaze can’t be killed. Staying here is pointless. I didn’t come to kill Kunpeng Clan members—I came to find you, Darren.”

Darren Rice laughed heartily. “Brother Di, I know exactly why you’re looking for me. Come with me—we’ll talk once we leave this place.”

......

Although Shadowhold was filled with cultivators, the fortress lord’s residence had been blasted into rubble, clearly the work of a peerless powerhouse. At this moment, nearly all the cultivators had fled, leaving only those who lived here permanently—and even they dared not come out.

Even the people from the fortress lord’s residence had vanished without a trace.

“Father, Joe Di is truly unrighteous! This matter clearly has nothing to do with Shadowhold, yet he still attacked you.” On the ruins of the fortress lord’s residence, a young man at the early Prime Realm Stage rushed over. This was Lowell Huen’s son, Louis Tai.

Because Louis Tai had just entered the Prime Realm, he couldn’t participate in battles between such powerhouses, but he’d been watching over his father from the sidelines.

Lowell Huen sighed. “Joe Di must have seen that I was hoping the Kunpeng Clan powerhouse would win. I never expected Joe Di to be so cunning, ambushing Ken Wayne like that…”

Before Louis Tai could reply, Lowell Huen stopped him and said, “I need to leave and heal—help me set up a Guardian Array.”

Seeing his father leave the ruins, Louis Tai hurried after him.

The streets of Shadowhold were eerily empty; in a short time, all the cultivators had either fled or hidden themselves.

Half a stick of incense later, Lowell Huen and Louis Tai slipped into an underground palace built beneath the ruins.

After sealing the palace doors and activating all the Barrier Seals, Lowell Huen finally let out a long sigh of relief.

“Father, who is this Joe Di anyway…”

This time, before Louis Tai could finish, Lowell Huen interrupted, “Enough, Louis! Your cultivation is almost entirely built on pills and resources, lacking true life-and-death experience. You nearly died to Lord Ye once, but you seem to have forgotten. If Joe Di hadn’t intervened today, Shadowhold would be in even greater danger in the future.”

“Father, but Joe Di didn’t even ask for the full story—he just cut off your arm…” Louis Tai said in confusion. Joe Di had hurt his father, yet his father claimed Joe Di had helped them. What did he mean by that?

Lowell Huen looked at Louis Tai and sighed. “You understand too little. Joe Di cutting off my arm was helping me, not harming me. Before Ken Blaze left, he set up a Surveillance Array in Shadowhold. That array lets Ken Blaze know exactly what’s happening here. By cutting off my arm and reprimanding me, Joe Di wasn’t putting on a show for me, but for Ken Blaze. He wanted Ken Blaze to see I didn’t help him, that my heart was with the Kunpeng Clan. How can you be so clueless?”
