Ascension to the Throne

Crown Prince Adrian finally breathed a sigh of relief. As expected, Deathsworn would never betray their master!

Prince Ethan gave him a meaningful look, then ordered another round of torture for the second person. Like the first, the second Deathsworn refused to speak, but Prince Ethan showed no sign of impatience.

After three consecutive Deathsworn remained silent, someone finally sighed and spoke up, "Your Highness, Crown Prince Adrian, Prince Julian, if we continue interrogating like this, we might never get any answers. Perhaps we should postpone the trial to another day."

Tonight’s ordeal had left everyone shaken and exhausted. It was already late, and naturally, people hoped to rest first. Seeing how stubborn these assassins were, dragging things out seemed pointless. It was better to reconsider the approach, so everyone silently agreed with the suggestion.

Hearing the suggestion and seeing everyone’s attitude, Crown Prince Adrian secretly breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, one of the assassins also visibly relaxed—so obviously that anyone paying attention could see it.

A deep, inscrutable smile flickered in Prince Ethan’s eyes as he spoke, "Let’s interrogate one more."

Trying to hide his guilty conscience, Crown Prince Adrian did not object, and the others also remained silent. A cold glint flashed in Prince Ethan’s eyes as he pointed directly at the assassin who had just relaxed.

A guard stepped forward to torture the man, and panic flashed in his eyes. He glanced at the three unconscious, bloodied Deathsworn—their mangled bodies were a ghastly sight. When the guard pressed down on his shoulder, the man finally broke, shouting, "I confess! I confess! It was the Crown Prince! The Crown Prince ordered us!"

At those words, the crowd erupted in shock.

Crown Prince Adrian slammed the table and stood up, roaring angrily, "How dare you! You dare to frame me?"
