The Summoning

That person was just standing there a moment ago, but in the blink of an eye, they've disappeared!

The scene before them made everyone present break out in goosebumps from fear.

"How is this possible?" Eric Jiang felt his worldview was seriously challenged. He looked at Jiro Hirayama in disbelief. "Is this... normal?"

Jiro Hirayama, usually a strict materialist, actually hesitated for the first time: "Well, this place isn't exactly normal, is it?"

Rona Muir watched as the fireflies turned into tiny stars and vanished from sight. She let out a deep breath. "What the hell! What is even happening here? I feel like my worldview just got shattered all over again!"

Ben immediately said to Eric Jiang, "Mr. Jiang, our CEO is missing. Right now, you're the only one who can take charge!"

Eric Jiang glanced at everyone else, feeling utterly helpless inside.

There were three teams of bodyguards, but all the bosses had vanished.

Even the bodyguards themselves felt seriously awkward.

They were getting paid so much, and yet all three bosses had disappeared!

Everyone was cursing in their hearts: "This damned place! It's seriously haunted!"

"There are just too many mysteries in this world." Eric Jiang steadied himself. At this moment, he had to stay calm—if he lost it, the whole team would fall apart.

So he forced himself to stay calm and went on, "This is the Primal Jungle, a place almost untouched by humans. Weird things happening here aren't all that surprising. After all, our planet has seen countless civilizations disappear without a trace."

Eric Jiang's words made everyone present nod subconsciously.

Yeah, just think about how many civilizations have vanished from this planet!

From the distant Ice Age, to the slightly more recent Mayan civilization, and then even closer, the Loulan civilization, and so on.

There could be lost civilizations buried in every corner of the world.

So, finding a mysterious altar in such a desolate place doesn't seem so hard to accept anymore.

"Molly Yun and Cici probably disappeared here too," Eric Jiang continued. "Charles Yin has gone to look for them. We need to hurry and find the right path to catch up. Otherwise... I'm counting on you all!"

"Yes, sir!" All the bodyguards snapped to attention. "We guarantee to complete the mission!"

"Ms. Muir, Mr. Hirayama." Eric Jiang turned to them. "The next steps could be dangerous. I'm Molly Yun's husband—this is my duty. You two..."

"We wouldn't have come all this way if we weren't ready to risk our lives!" Rona Muir declared boldly. "We may be weaklings, but even weaklings have dignity! Besides, my husband makes some killer poisons—they really work! Human or ghost, if they touch it, they're dead!"

Jiro Hirayama puffed out his chest with pride, looking absolutely delighted.

Getting praised by his wife made him so happy!

Eric Jiang chuckled softly. "Alright then, everyone take care from here on out!"

"I know." Rona Muir nodded firmly.

Inside the treehouse.

Suddenly, a swarm of fireflies flew in from outside, circling around Cecilia Gu and Molly Yun.

Cecilia Gu was still holding a branch, aiming it at her own throat.

The High Priest saw the fireflies and smiled, saying, "You don't have to threaten me. He's already arrived. If you want to see him, just follow me."
