Chapter 976: Four-Element Bomb

Damn bastard, that wretched Leon Merlin actually came to attack Windfire Fortress. I let my guard down—far too much, in fact...

Dubois Charles gritted his teeth. Previously, he had found some clues in the Black Tower Sanctuary regarding a demi-plane left behind by an eighth-level Sky Rank Archmage. Its foundation was also built upon wind elemental rules, but in a direction utterly different from his own.

How could anyone not be tempted by a prize like this...

After painstakingly combing through countless records, he finally pinpointed it—the approximate location was right here at Windfire Fortress.

That’s why Dubois Charles personally requested to support the Furyflame Plane this time. As soon as he arrived, he launched an assault on Windfire Fortress, even taking direct action himself—just to avoid wrecking the place.

Afterward, he remained stationed at Windfire Fortress, barely leaving. Especially after discovering the plane path, he became even more vigilant, quietly laying down alchemical arrays and monitoring the place round-the-clock.

He was just waiting for the demi-plane to stabilize so he could seize this enormous windfall. As long as he claimed even a fraction of it, he was certain to break through to Sky Rank level two in no time, and his foundation would be rock solid. Before Sky Rank level five, there would be no real obstacles.

The Thunder Spirit born from the demi-plane would also experience explosive growth, its weaknesses patched, its combat power swelling dramatically.

With himself personally stationed here, he never worried about anyone attacking or sabotaging the place. After all, who in their right mind would risk offending a Sky Rank Archmage?

But who could have imagined—someone really was bold enough to pull this off, and actually managed to take the fortress...

Dubois Charles's expression shifted. He cast an Eagle Eye Spell to survey Windfire Fortress—the room concealing the Plane Path remained intact, meaning the path hadn't been exposed, and the alchemical array was undamaged. Everything was still in place...

Seeing this, Dubois finally relaxed—only for fury to surge up in his chest. The aura of a Sky Rank powerhouse erupted from him as he drifted through the air toward Windfire Fortress.

Inside Windfire Fortress, Leon was still busy inspecting the spoils—refined magical metals, companion gems, magic crystals, and all manner of treasures.

Many of these items bore magical brands. Without removing those marks, Leon wouldn’t dare toss them into the demi-plane at random.

Leon himself knew thirty-five different methods that could use a trace of a brand to deduce the coordinates of a demi-plane.

A natural demi-plane is nothing like one carved out in the void by a Sky Rank powerhouse. If you have the coordinates, some mages can even forcibly open a Plane Path and break in.

If a transcendent mage barged into the demi-plane—especially now, when control over it wasn’t complete and Leon hadn’t reached Sky Rank yet—the natural demi-plane could be destroyed or even stolen.

Naturally, Leon had to be extra cautious. Every magical metal ore was scoured with flame, and any herbs or reagents were handled directly—everything usable was turned into alchemical potions.

Just as Leon was dealing with the herbs, he suddenly sensed the aura of a Sky Rank powerhouse. A cold smirk crossed his lips as he handed off all his tasks to his alchemical golem assistant.
