The Suitcase

2/14/2026

The boys surrounded Evan Lin and Jason Liu, and Jason's face had gone a little pale.

These boys originally just wanted to scare Evan Lin a bit. There were plenty of ways to deal with a transfer student like him, and they planned to overwhelm him with sheer presence first.

But just then, they noticed a group of girls walking over. Instantly, they all got excited, eager to show off in front of the girls.

Especially when they spotted Ivy Liang in the crowd, Liam Liu’s eyes lit up. He looked at Evan Lin, smiled, and then said loudly, “Ryan, come on—just hit this kid the same way he hit you. If he dares to fight back, I’ll make him pay!”

Liam Liu’s voice was loud. As soon as he finished, Ryan Luo grinned viciously, stepped forward, and moved right up to Evan Lin, reaching out to grab Evan’s collar.

Bang!

But before his hand could even touch Evan’s collar, Evan front-kicked him in the stomach and sent him flying.

The girls rushing over saw a boy suddenly get launched out of the crowd, rolling several times on the ground, clutching his stomach in pain and looking utterly miserable.

Everyone was stunned. Liam Liu hadn’t expected this kid to strike so fast and decisively. His face darkened. "Not bad! Looks like you really want a beating. If you don’t understand what I’m saying, then don’t blame me for being rude!"

"Get him!"

When Evan said "get lost," his voice turned chilly, and he put extra weight behind the word.

The sound hit the boys like a thunderclap—two of them went pale and dropped to the ground in shock.

The rest didn’t dare make a move. Their eyes were full of panic as they scrambled to pick up Liam Liu and Ryan Luo, then bolted off the field.

Liam Liu was their go-to guy, the one they always counted on. Seeing him get wiped out so easily, none of the boys dared step up again.

They’re just gonna bail like that? Jason Liu stared after Liam and the others, totally confused.

Any one of those guys is a big shot around here.

Capitalview First High has twelve senior classes, and the three Experimental Classes are packed with prodigies. Usually, they act all high and mighty around the regular classes.

Seeing Evan drop Ryan Luo with a kick, KO Liam Liu with a slap, and scare off the rest, Jason was honestly blown away.

Take out the top dog, and the rest of the mutts run for cover.

Evan replied coolly. Not finishing him off with one slap was already showing mercy—these flies weren’t even worth his time.

Dude, you’re seriously a master! Jason Liu’s eyes lit up.

A master?

Someone nearby spoke up, glancing over.

Jason turned and saw a bunch of girls had come over without him even noticing.

Ivy Liang arched an eyebrow, checking out Evan Lin. Her cool, pretty eyes flickered. "He’s definitely got skills."

She looked Evan up and down, surprised. "So you didn’t get beaten to death last night?"

The girls perked up, suddenly curious. "Ivy, you know him?"

Hey, what’s your name? You just beat up Liam Liu and the guys—you might be in for it.

Wait, Ivy, you said last night? Did you two go out together or something?

The girls all stared at Evan, faces full of gossip and speculation.

Evan ignored them and fixed his gaze on Ivy, frowning. "Find time to bring my stuff to Class Twelve. Don’t make me come looking for it myself."

You mean the suitcase? I’ll call my cousin about it later." Ivy nodded, but clearly didn’t like Evan’s attitude. "Just so you know, you just decked Liam Liu, and if word gets out, you could get expelled. You’d better watch it and maybe go apologize."

Doesn’t matter.

With that, Evan walked off without another glance.

Jason hurried after him, leaving the girls standing there, surprised.

Oh my god, it’s been ages since I’ve seen someone like that—he didn’t even give Ivy the time of day!

Ivy, why do you have his suitcase?

Yeah, who is he anyway?

Watching Evan walk away, the girls grew even more curious, shooting Ivy sly glances. "You two... there’s nothing going on, right?"

No, we’re not even on the same wavelength. Cut the gossip." Ivy shot them a cold look. "He’s just someone my cousin ran into by chance. The suitcase ended up in her car by accident—it’s got nothing to do with me."

Yeah, yeah, everyone knows Ivy only has eyes for Leo Liu from Peiying High." One girl winked and giggled.

Oh, and by the way, Leo’s been asking around about that pretty new transfer, Lynn Chen. Ivy, you’d better keep an eye on your spot.

Doesn’t matter.

With that, Evan walked off without another glance.

Jason hurried after him, leaving the girls standing there, surprised.

Oh my god, it’s been ages since I’ve seen someone like that—he didn’t even care about Ivy!

Ivy, why is his suitcase with you?

Yeah, who is he anyway?

Watching Evan walk away, the girls grew more and more curious, shooting Ivy probing glances. "You two... there’s nothing going on, right?"

No, we’re not even on the same wavelength. Stop gossiping.' Ivy shot them a cold look. 'He’s just someone my cousin ran into by chance. The suitcase ended up in her car by accident—it’s got nothing to do with me.'

Yeah, yeah, everyone knows Ivy only has eyes for Leo Liu from Peiying High.' One girl winked and giggled.

Oh, right—by the way, Leo’s been asking about that pretty new transfer, Lynn Chen. Ivy, you’d better watch out.
