Killing Another King

1/19/2026

King Warren Lin was slaughtered by Evan as easily as crushing an ant. For a moment, King Grant Gu and the Beast King couldn’t accept this reality—only now did they truly realize the terrifying power hidden behind Evan’s calm face.

Calling Evan a mere youth now was a joke—his son was already old enough to marry. The two monarchs’ minds spun with schemes: how could they cripple him, or even kill him outright?

Evan laughed coldly. “Afraid yet? Anyone who dares touch someone under my protection ends up dead. King Lin’s crime was unforgivable—now it’s your turn. Will you come at me together, or one by one? Either way, I’ll take you on to the bitter end!”

“Arrogant brat!” King Grant Gu roared. “King Lin only died because he was careless—don’t think you scare us! Your skills may be flashy, but they’re not enough to shake the Netherworld’s true kings. Today, you’ll witness real power!”

Evan’s tone was relaxed, but his spiritual sense had already locked onto the two monarchs’ every move. Both had reached the demigod rank, their space domains surely as strong as King Victor Zhao’s. He could already see they’d try a combined domain attack.

Just as Evan predicted, King Grant Gu unleashed his space domain. But for Evan, it was nothing but a minor annoyance—and in fact, it gave him the perfect chance to strike back.

Pressure slammed down on him—King Grant Gu’s Triple Space Domain was every bit as fierce as King Victor Zhao’s. Yet in less than a heartbeat, Evan shattered it; the force vanished, and he stood free once more.

King Grant Gu’s domain fused fire, water, and earth. Evan split his focus, gathering water and fire—this time, he was ready to try his ultimate idea: fuse water and fire, then unleash it in a single, devastating attack.

The water-fire fusion would be monstrously powerful—ice and fire colliding at their extremes. But King Grant Gu was clueless, convinced Evan was trapped and about to deliver a killing blow.

Both monarchs were old hands. But after a moment, they saw Evan wasn’t in pain—no agony, no struggle, nothing like being trapped in a space domain. That alone made their hearts tremble.

“This kid can actually withstand my space domain. His defense is insane! Don’t tell me my domain has zero effect on him?” King Grant Gu muttered to the Beast King beside him, disbelief etched across his face.

“Hard to say. His identity is a total mystery—no one in the Netherworld’s ever heard of a character like him. And there’s something even crazier: his son can transform into a Golden Dragon. That means he can probably do the same.” The Beast King’s eyes narrowed, voice low and wary.

“Golden Dragons belong to the Immortal Realm. So this guy might be an Immortal Realm powerhouse. But how did one of them show up in the Netherworld? The Immortal Realm’s entrance has been sealed for tens of millions of years! Did the barrier open? Did he come here to test our Netherworld’s strength?” the Beast King said, his tone urgent and analytical.

“It’s possible. We can’t afford to be careless. If the time comes, we’ll have to join forces and take him down. Once he’s subdued, we’ll get the answers we want. But my space domain’s probably useless here—otherwise, he’d already be crushed under its pressure,” King Grant Gu said, his voice tense.

By now, Evan’s water and fire elements had gathered in full force, fusing together at breakneck speed. Only a monster like Evan could pull off such a feat—his elemental control was unmatched, not just in the Immortal Realm but in the Netherworld too.

Evan sneered, voice icy. “You two finally figured out you need to gang up on me? Too bad—it won’t help. You’re the Beast King, right? If you want to live a little longer, you’d better show your true beast form. Otherwise, your death’s coming in the very next moment.”

Even as he spoke, Evan shot toward them, his figure blurring. Seeing he wasn’t bound by the space domain, both monarchs were stunned—though they’d suspected this outcome, facing it head-on was a shock they couldn’t swallow.

Space domains aren’t like ordinary techniques—even cultivators of equal rank can get trapped inside. But this guy was totally unaffected. That left only two possibilities.

Either Evan had mastered some method to break space domains, or his strength was so overwhelming it defied imagination. Both seemed impossible—yet here he was, forcing them to treat him as the ultimate enemy.

King Lin was killed because he underestimated Evan—that much made sense. But now, things were different. “Beast King, hit this kid with everything you’ve got! Otherwise, both of us are dead meat!” King Grant Gu shouted, voice filled with crisis.

A massive copper hammer appeared in King Grant Gu’s hands—purple-gold, enormous, and obviously heavy enough to turn a man to meat paste in a single blow.

Evan’s eyes flashed. With a single thought, he sent his fused ice and fire elements hurtling toward King Grant Gu. The attack was utterly silent, transforming instantly into a mass of Heavenfire and a mass of Coldflame—then, impossibly, the two merged into one.

Heavenfire nested inside Coldflame, Coldflame wrapped around Heavenfire—a paradox never seen before. The fusion covered King Grant Gu’s body in an instant. Both Heavenfire and Coldflame were terrifying enough alone, but fused, their destructive power multiplied.

King Victor Zhao had once been driven to utter humiliation by this move, but now Evan’s technique was even more fearsome. Even with demigod-level strength, King Grant Gu was grievously wounded—his body ignited, then frozen solid.

Frozen in ice, King Grant Gu was burned again and again, unable to fight back. A demigod-rank overlord died to Evan’s bizarre strike—a fate he’d never imagined. The ice was bone-chilling, yet inside it, Heavenfire erupted with full force, while the ice itself remained completely untouched.

After just a few breaths, King Grant Gu was reduced to ash. Evan felt a stab of regret—he hadn’t snatched the man’s storage ring first. That was a fortune lost.

At that moment, the Beast King’s attack crashed down on him. Evan retreated madly, his figure moving like lightning—his Wind Element mastery pushed to the limit. But the Beast King was a top-tier powerhouse; no matter how fast Evan fled, he couldn’t fully dodge such overwhelming force...
