Garrett retreated at lightning speed to Joe Di's side, where Joe Di had already grabbed a handful of array flags to start setting up a protective formation.
Having spent a long time in Swampsea Woods, Joe Di had become extremely adept at arraycraft. He swiftly placed dozens of array flags, completing a Tier-3 protective array; then, with another flurry of flags, he laid out a Tier-3 Slaughter Array around it.
By now, the herd of Marsh Lions was surging toward them. The Trap Array creaked and groaned, threatening to be torn apart at any moment.
Garrett's massive axe became a blur of blades, each swing cutting down more than a dozen Tier-1 Marsh Lions.
Meanwhile, Joe Di was constantly repairing the Trap Array and laying down new Slaughter Arrays.
More Marsh Lions were shredded by the various blades within the Slaughter Array, collapsing one after another. Compared to Garrett's dozen or so kills each swing, Joe Di's Slaughter Arrays were cutting down entire groups at a time.
Almost all of the attackers were Tier-1 Marsh Lions. Under Joe Di's control, several chained Slaughter Arrays finally stabilized and kept expanding.
Joe Di even began to infuse the blade aura from his First and Second Blades into the Slaughter Arrays. Suddenly, Garrett was struck by a wild force and sent flying.
"Joe, it's a Tier-3 Marsh Lion..." Garrett climbed up from the ground, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth.
Joe Di tossed all the array flags to Sprout. "You help me keep these Slaughter Arrays stable. I'll handle this."
