Chapter 1049: Repelled
Two gigantic hands of light closed in on Leon from both sides, while massive meteors rapidly coalesced and rained down, threatening to crush him beneath their weight.
With a single blink, Leon dodged the pincer attack from the two giant hands. Facing the barrage of meteors that swept in like a sideways rain, his magitech armor whirred into overdrive, calculating the trajectories of over a hundred meteors for the next three seconds in just one second.
That towering figure, over ten meters tall, moved through the meteor shower with the agility of an elf. Without relying on defensive spells, Leon evaded the meteors using only basic dodging techniques—none of them even grazed him.
Leon had even calculated the air currents whipped up by the meteors in advance, timing his evasions perfectly and using the force between them to neutralize their impact.
All the while, Leon's eyes never left Krav. When he was just fifty meters from Krav, Leon rapidly chanted three runes.
In an instant, countless runes erupted from the phantom wheel behind Leon like a geyser.
Boom, boom, boom...
It was as if a dozen massive torches ignited at once—the roar of flames mingled with the rush of water.
Twelve magma vortexes, each seven or eight meters tall, formed a semicircle in front of Krav, flanking him on both sides.
As the magma vortexes spun wildly, endless streams of molten magic surged toward Krav at the center.
Faced with this terrifying burst attack, Krav's expression changed drastically. He hurriedly retracted the two giant hands of light, using them as shields to block the raging flood of magma spells.
While retreating, Krav unleashed a surge of mana, summoning hundreds of massive meteors midair to rain down on Leon.
Meanwhile, far off in the distance, Anderson—who was helping the Bloodfang Tribe assault the Golden Orcs—muttered quietly to himself.
"That Golden Orc is a real idiot. Leon closed in to within a few dozen meters—does he really think it's just to form a semicircle of spells around him?"
Sure enough, after Krav retreated a dozen meters, he suddenly sensed an even more terrifying wave of magic behind him. Over a dozen gigantic magma spheres, each at least sixteen meters across, materialized at his back.
As Leon charged in again, Krav decisively chanted a spell.
Those twelve magma vortexes were just the appetizer—the real feast was still to come...
With four magma spheres closing in, Krav had nowhere left to run. He could only summon layer upon layer of shields, adding the two giant hands to form more than ten layers of protection, bracing himself to take the full force of the spell.
Krav stood his ground, stacking spell buffs on himself. At that moment, Leon casually tore open a half-meter-long scroll. At the very top of the sky, a pinpoint of light seemed to rip through space and hurtle toward Krav at breakneck speed.
Leon stared at the spot, momentarily stunned.
The twelve magma vortexes formed a ring, trapping Krav at the center. Endless magma spells surged like a flood, relentlessly pounding and suppressing him.
After three seconds, Krav finally managed to catch his breath, his face ashen as he burst out from the torrent of spells.
"Damn bastard, your luck has run out..."
But before Krav could finish his threat, he realized Lin Yun was already retreating. Lin Yun blinked backward through the magma pool, and in the blink of an eye, was over a hundred meters away...
A terrifying pressure descended from above. Only then did Krav notice a meteor hurtling down at him at a truly monstrous speed. When he glanced up, it was still at least a kilometer high, but in a blink, it was just dozens of meters overhead...
With Krav gone, Leon didn't bother chasing him. Instead, he soared into the sky, heading off to assist Didala.
On the ground, the people of Odin Kingdom stared at Leon in shock.
The meteor grazed Krav's body as it struck the ground, and the shockwave was like a giant's slap, sending Krav crashing violently to earth.
As the meteor hit the ground, the blast wave erupted, and Krav landed right in the heart of it.
Krav's three-meter-tall body was like a rubber ball, slammed to the ground by a giant's hand—then, before he could land, he was kicked away again...
Crack...
A crisp snap echoed as Krav screamed, sent flying backward. A crack suddenly appeared on the golden crown atop his head...
Cracks spread across Krav's body, and his aura shield shattered instantly. The Golden Ancestor Spirit was violently ripped from Krav's body, sent flying. Its colossal form—over a hundred and fifty meters tall—collapsed to the ground like a toppled mountain...
The Golden Ancestor Spirit's arms vanished, now slowly regenerating. Its surface was covered in dense cracks, like a porcelain about to shatter—just a bit more force, and it would explode into countless fragments...
Krav spat blood, his face twisted in shock and fury. One of his arms was bent at a grotesque angle—clearly broken...
As Lin Yun charged in again, Krav decisively chanted a spell.
A massive phantom golden crown appeared above his head, its light raining down to envelop both the Golden Ancestor Spirit and Krav. In an instant, their figures vanished into the phantom crown hovering in midair.

After they disappeared, countless spells rained down where they'd just stood. The earth shattered, leaving a crater dozens of meters wide...
If the Bloodfang Tribe had been overrun, none of them would have fared any better. Facing a siege from the Golden Tribe and the Golden Orcs, casualties would have been catastrophic...
"Reverse summoning? That guy's got guts. Isn't he afraid he'll die during the ritual?"
For a pure spirit like an Ancestor, traversing a summoned channel isn't much trouble—there's no air, no elements, nothing at all. An ordinary person would explode just stepping inside.
Orc bodies are tough, but even they can't handle a reverse summoning unscathed. If their lungs don't burst, they're lucky...
"Bloodfang fools, luck's on your side today!"
Soon, the Golden Tribe's cavalry and two more Sky Rank mages withdrew as well. The Bloodfang Tribe had suffered heavy losses and didn't pursue, and the humans were even less willing to give chase—who knew if they'd stumble into an undead ambush...
With Krav gone, Lin Yun didn't bother chasing him. Instead, he soared into the sky, heading off to assist Didala.
After repelling the Golden Tribe's attack, the Bloodfang chieftain personally came to offer thanks.
"Brave warriors, thank you for exposing the Golden Tribe's foolish plot and helping us drive off those wretched fools. Those orcs who've forgotten their ancestors' valor will be abandoned by them sooner or later..."
But now, he'd witnessed Lin Yun's combat prowess...
Such explosive power... Is this guy really just a Level Seven Titled Archmage? No wonder he leads a faction, and no wonder the folks from Andalusia treat him with such respect. Of the ten slots for Andalusia, he claims the most, and the others seem genuinely pleased about it.
His burst of power surpassed the limits of a Titled Archmage—maybe even stronger than a newly advanced Sky Rank mage, at least in terms of raw force. He's probably not much weaker than Didala.
If Didala were to duel this Mafa Merlin, victory would be tough. They'd be evenly matched at first, but Didala would gain the upper hand in the end—after all, Mafa Merlin is only a Level Seven Titled Archmage. In a drawn-out fight, he wouldn't stand a chance against Didala...
Elsewhere, Morgan and Arno exchanged knowing glances, both thinking this was Lin Yun's true strength...
But Diras just looked on with disdain.
Damn bastard. So what if he's got explosive power? It's all borrowed from magic artifacts. That foolish Golden Orc—if he'd been just a bit more careful, there's no way Mafa Merlin would've driven him off in less than half a minute.
A Level Seven Titled Archmage, unleashing that kind of power, probably burned through all his mana in one go. Otherwise, he wouldn't have resorted to using that scroll at the end.
That foolish Golden Orc—if he'd held out just a few seconds longer, he could've torn that mana-exhausted Mafa Merlin to pieces. What an idiot...
Still, the Golden Orcs are the enemy, so Diras kept quiet. Whatever everyone else thought, they all breathed a sigh of relief.
After all, an enemy who can fight at Sky Rank is a massive threat to them.
If the Bloodfang Tribe had been overrun, none of them would have fared any better. Facing a siege from the Golden Tribe and the Golden Orcs, casualties would have been catastrophic...
With Krav the first to flee, the Golden Tribe's chieftain and Sky Rank warlocks instantly lost the will to keep fighting.
Watching Lin Yun soar skyward, a Sky Rank warlock from the Golden Tribe unleashed a massive firestorm at Didala, then retreated himself.
In the sky, the Golden Tribe's chieftain cursed angrily, then followed suit and retreated.
The battle came quickly and ended just as fast. The sudden appearance of the Golden Tribe left everyone baffled, and now they were even more certain—something was wrong with this world.
