Reuniting with Old Friends

Evan Yang smiled, "Yeah."

"You really came back at the worst possible time." Mason White sighed helplessly. In his eyes, the continent was on the brink of destruction—worse than the insect disaster from before. These new invaders were far stronger.

But little did they know, Evan Yang's cultivation had skyrocketed—those Sevenmile Peak people were no match for him at all.

"Actually, I came back at just the right time," Evan said with a smile. If he hadn't returned, who knows what might have happened here.

"You—" Mason was confused, but Evan didn't bother explaining. He simply asked, "Where's the Shadowhand Guild?"

"I'll take you." Mason said.

Evan nodded, leaving Lance Blue and the woman behind to catch up with the others. To everyone there, Lance seemed much stronger than Evan—after all, Lance's power was well-known. But they had no idea what Evan was truly capable of.

Inside the Free Alliance base, Evan followed Mason White for a while until they reached another cavern, where many people sat meditating with their eyes closed, while others chatted quietly.

Evan quickly spotted many familiar faces. Mason White smiled and said, "They're inside."

"Alright, thanks. Go ahead and take care of your own things." Evan smiled.

"Alright." Mason White nodded, leaving Evan behind. Evan walked in, and his sudden appearance made everyone look up in surprise—some even thought they were dreaming.

Some even thought they were dreaming.

"What? None of you recognize me anymore?" Evan said with a grin, breaking the silence. Xin Jiang stepped forward, smiling—she never expected to see Evan again, and honestly thought the outsiders would overrun this place soon.

"Of course we recognize you." Xin Jiang laughed, her relief obvious. She had thought the outsiders would take over any day now, and never imagined Evan would walk in again.

"I thought maybe none of you remembered me." Evan scanned the crowd—there were plenty of familiar faces: the Situ Clan, the Chu Family, and lots of folks from the Shadowhand Guild.

But something puzzled Evan—Tara Chu wasn't here.

"Don't bother looking—she's out on patrol," Xin Jiang said, grinning.

"Out on patrol?" Evan was surprised—he remembered Tara Chu's cultivation wasn't that strong, so it seemed odd she'd be sent out.

"Yeah." Xin Jiang replied.

"What about City Lord Tu?" Evan asked, curious.

Xin Jiang looked a bit sad. "He died decades ago. The outsiders killed him when they invaded."

Evan's face darkened. "So City Lord Tu really is gone..."

"Don't be reckless. They're all incredibly strong—you wouldn't stand a chance against them out there." Xin Jiang warned.

"Them? They don't even qualify to make me lift a finger," Evan said coldly. It was clear how furious he was—he wanted nothing more than to deal with those Sevenmile Peak people himself.

Xin Jiang and the others didn't quite understand what Evan meant. Had he really become that powerful, or was he just talking big without knowing the situation?

Evan glanced around and noticed some people were still missing. When he asked about them, he learned some had been weakened, others had become scattered and couldn't be found.

"Sevenmile Peak—they won't escape," Evan said coldly.

"Sevenmile Peak?" Xin Jiang looked puzzled—she had no idea who those people were.

"They're from Sevenmile Peak. I've run into them before, so I recognize them," Evan explained.

"You've met them? Who are they, and why are they so strong?" For people here, Spirit-Wandering experts were already impressive—now so many powerful outsiders had appeared, it was hard to imagine.
