Forcing the Master’s Hand

Landing steadily on the scorched ground, Many-Eyes gripped his horsetail whisk and strode forward.

The tightly packed crowd of demons quickly parted, forming a passageway.

When he reached the heart of the encirclement, Many-Eyes was genuinely startled, gasping in shock.

At the center, on a small mound of earth, lay a mangled, incomplete body. The skin was charred black, the face utterly deformed, its limbs severed, and both the chest and abdomen bore mortal wounds.

On that charred face, the two eyes still stared wide and round, as if refusing to close even in death.

Even more terrifying, there was not a trace of flesh or blood. Looking closely at the wounds, this lifelike body was made entirely of monkey fur!

At this moment, all the exposed monkey fur had been burned black. A foul stench filled the air, and those demons standing in the front row instinctively covered their mouths and noses.

A demon officer hurried over, escorting the goat-spirit, and shoved him to the ground.

All the demons turned to Many-Eyes, awaiting his final decision.

"What is this monstrosity, a puppet?" Pointing at the body on the ground, Many-Eyes barked sharply, "Is this the 'Great Sage' you spoke of?"

Lifting his leg, Many-Eyes kicked at the goat-spirit.

The goat-spirit scrambled away in terror, rolling and crawling to dodge.

At this moment, he too was utterly bewildered. Eyes wide with terror, he stared at the mutilated Six-Ears, mouth agape but unable to utter a single word.

"Ga-ga-ga-ga..."

Just then, a strange burst of laughter echoed out of nowhere. The demon crowd, packed tightly together, immediately panicked, glancing around in alarm.

"Who's laughing?"

At the center of the circle, Many-Eyes paused, then stepped up to Six-Ears, reaching out with his whisk to straighten Six-Ears' face. "Still not dead?"

Before he finished speaking, the body thought to be dead shuddered slightly, and its eyeballs began to roll around.

"He's still alive?" The gathered demons were shocked, instinctively taking a step back.

After mobilizing tens of thousands of demons to set up this ambush, turning the entire plain into scorched earth, fighting for four or five hours, and inflicting such grievous wounds... In the end, he was still not dead?

Many-Eyes stared coldly at Six-Ears, his gaze just as full of confusion.
