Light element continued to pour into his body. Evan Chu watched as the light color on the Element Core Pearl beside his dantian grew steadily brighter. Now, he had enough to cultivate Light Transformation, but he wanted to absorb every last bit before starting.
Time slipped by. At a certain moment, Evan Chu opened his eyes and muttered, "I wonder if cultivating Light Transformation will let me go invisible? I’m actually looking forward to it!"
He immediately began circulating the light element and Chaos Immortal Force within him to start the cultivation. With the experience from the previous seven Transformations, Evan Chu took less than two days to reach the first layer of Light Transformation. Meanwhile, Yvonne Xuan and the others were still searching for the treasures hidden behind the stone gates.
After Evan Chu stood up, he focused his mind and activated Light Transformation. He glanced at his own arm—and sure enough, it had turned invisible. He was very satisfied with the effect.
Then, he gathered light element in his palm and slowly pressed it against the Emerald Gate in front of him. Light element flowed continuously from his hand into a groove on the gate, and immediately a streak of emerald light flashed out.
The Emerald Gate let out a grinding sound and slowly began to rise, revealing a two-meter-high opening.
Without hesitation, Evan Chu stepped inside. On close inspection, the interior was nearly identical to when he entered the Dark Gate before—pitch black at first, but after a few breaths, bright light appeared.
Once again, a round platform appeared before him, topped by a massive screen, and, just like before, six stone doors lined the wall. No need to guess—Evan Chu would have to channel Immortal Spirit Force into the screen and then choose a stone door based on the sound cues.
Just then, writing appeared on the screen—but it was ancient script Evan Chu couldn’t read. He felt a bit helpless, since he had no idea what it meant. All he could do was walk up and infuse a strand of Chaos Immortal Force into the screen. He’d expected a prompt like with the Dark Gate, but after a long wait, nothing happened—just more text appeared.
This result left Evan Chu a bit bewildered. He quickly summoned Jade Chu before him—since she’d received some inheritance, maybe she could recognize the writing. Although the words disappeared right away, he was confident that if he infused his power again, they would reappear.
Jade Chu glanced at Evan Chu and asked, "Big Brother, what is this place? It feels incredibly mysterious."
"Qing'er, help me take a look at these characters. I can't read this ancient script. This is the tomb of an ancient Immortal; there are powerful things inside, and now your big brother needs to get them," Evan Chu said.
He then infused Chaos Immortal Force into the screen again. More words appeared, and Jade Chu stared at them intently. When the text faded, she smiled and said:
"Big Brother, the writing on this screen is pretty simple. It just tells you to pick one of the stone doors. Each of the six doors has powerful treasures and immortal artifacts inside, plus heaven-defying martial skills and some energy crystals.
But every door is dangerous. You have to survive the danger to get the prize. The last line is the key—it says that if you gather everything from all six doors, a seventh door will appear. Inside is the Emerald Immortal Empress’s jade body, and it seems she has something to say to whoever makes it in."
Evan Chu stared at Jade Chu in confusion. "You’re sure you read that right? I really have to go into all six doors? Each one’s dangerous—this is seriously trying to kill me! The Emerald Immortal Empress is way too cautious. Even if I wanted to help her, I might not be able to."
"Big Brother, there’s one more thing I didn’t tell you. Judging by your reaction, I’d better say it now. If you don’t collect everything from all six doors, the round platform will explode—with force not weaker than a late-stage Immortal Emperor’s self-detonation. Even God-Realm cultivators would be wiped out. And you only have three months," Jade Chu said.
Evan Chu was dumbfounded. So it was mandatory—you couldn’t skip it even if you wanted to. “If that’s how it is, let’s go take a look. For now, you’d better go back into the storage ring. I’ll call you out when I need you. This place is just too weird and dangerous.”
After stepping down from the platform, Evan Chu walked straight up to a stone door and tried infusing Chaos Immortal Force—but nothing happened for a long time. Then he tried light element, and the door instantly opened.
"So, everything here really is tied to light element. The Emerald Immortal Empress is meticulous, that’s for sure. Let’s head in and see what’s up," Evan Chu said.
After entering the stone door, the situation was just like what Yvonne Xuan and the others experienced: darkness at first, then suddenly everything grew bright, and Evan Chu could see his surroundings clearly. Soon, he found himself in a world of flowers and grass—this was the Nine-Palace Blossom Fairy Array that Nolan Nangong had faced.
Evan Chu had always only half-understood formations, but he didn’t panic at this strange sight. He figured he’d entered an illusion, though he wasn’t very familiar with illusions. Tom Chu, on the other hand, was an expert—he was born in an illusion realm as an innate spirit treasure, and no illusion could fool him.
"Big Brother, what do you need me for?" Tom Chu asked after appearing, just like when Jade Chu showed up.
"Tong’er, see if you can break this illusion!" Evan Chu asked.
Tom Chu glanced around, then spread out his soul sense. After a while, he said, "Big Brother, this isn’t an illusion—it’s a formation. I don’t know what kind exactly, but I can tell where the array eye is. See that white stone? Just smash it."
Evan Chu looked around and soon spotted the stone Tom Chu had mentioned. With a thought, he unleashed Heart-Sword, sending a powerful sword-qi flying at the stone and shattering it instantly.
The whole space shook violently, and eight more stones appeared on the grass. Before Tom Chu could say anything, Evan Chu kept unleashing Heart-Sword, quickly smashing all eight stones.
If it had been anyone else, breaking the Nine-Palace Blossom Fairy Array would’ve been tough. Nolan Nangong managed it because he’d read about this ancient array before; Evan Chu succeeded thanks to luck and the speed of his Heart-Sword.
If Lara Luo or the others had faced this Nine-Palace Blossom Fairy Array, they might have been seriously injured. Maybe the trial adjusts to the entrant’s strength—Evan Chu was just a special case.
Then the space shook again and returned to normal. In front of Evan Chu stood a stone platform, with a red box placed on top.
Evan Chu stepped forward and saw there was a jade tablet inside the box. He didn’t need to check—he knew it had to be a powerful martial skill. He casually picked up the box and put it into his storage ring. Then, the voice of the Emerald Immortal Fairy rang out overhead: "Trial passed!"
