Finally Waiting for You

1/4/2026

Looking into Miles Gu's determined eyes, Cecilia Gu suddenly didn't know what to say.

Earl Field, however, was laughing happily: "Good, my son should have this kind of pride!"

Cecilia Gu coughed lightly: "Son, that's not what we're supposed to focus on..."

Miles Gu gave his mom a knowing look and said, "Yeah, I know you want to tell me that with me and Ethan Yin being so good-looking, it's easy for people to get ideas about us. Mom, don't worry, Ethan and I won't become the next Daji! There are plenty of people who want us to smile, but those old emperors—who cares about them!"

Cecilia Gu:

Son, you're missing the point again!

Standing beside them, Rona Muir was laughing so hard she couldn't stand up straight.

Such a cute son!

Cecilia Gu thought about it and realized, yeah, her two sons were so handsome—literally the most handsome in the universe!

Of course she had to watch out for those with bad intentions!

There's just no helping it. In every mother's eyes, her child is always the best-looking!

Cecilia Gu was no exception!

After lighting a few bonfires on the mountaintop, watching the thick smoke rise straight into the sky, it really did feel like sending a signal fire to summon the lords.

On a neighboring island, someone quickly spotted the smoke across the way and rushed inside: "Mr. Yin! Look! Someone on that island lit a signal fire! There must be people over there!"

Charles Yin dashed out like an arrow. Seeing the thick smoke, he immediately ordered his team to set out!

Cici, wait for me!

I'm coming right now!

Charles Yin led his team quickly toward the small island where Cecilia Gu and the others were.

Even though Cecilia Gu and Earl Field had paddled their raft for hours to reach that island...

Charles Yin and his group were riding a powerful speedboat, so it took them less than twenty minutes to get there.

As soon as they landed, Charles Yin saw several crocodiles crawling toward him. He gave his men a nod, and immediately someone tossed a few grenades over.

Boom, boom, boom—several loud explosions completely cleared the way.

The people on the mountaintop heard the explosions down by the shore and looked at each other in confusion!

Is this... the rescue team?

Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir were instantly overjoyed. At the top of the mountain, they waved their rain tarps and shouted, "We're here! We're on the mountain! We're still alive!"

Jiro Hirayama and Earl Field exchanged a silent glance, both seeing the helplessness in each other's eyes.

These two women usually seem pretty smart, but at certain times and places, it's like their IQ just drops...

The mountaintop is so far from the base—how could the people below possibly hear them?

Still, even though Charles Yin couldn't hear Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir, he could see them waving their rain tarps, and his thermal imager locked onto their position.

After searching for so long, maybe that person was right in front of him.

Charles Yin was so excited he could barely contain himself.

His Cici, his Little Mole, he'd finally found her!

Charles Yin left everyone behind and charged up the mountain.

His mind was completely blank at that moment.

All he knew was that he had to find Cecilia Gu, hold her tightly in his arms, and never let go again!

Cecilia Gu seemed to sense something. She stopped shouting and just stared in one direction.

Inside, a small voice was shouting.

That voice told her that someone was rushing toward her with the most urgent heart and the fastest speed.

He was her salvation.

Those three minutes felt like an eternity to Cecilia Gu.

That kind of destined bond, invisible yet ever-present, wrapped itself around Cecilia Gu's heart.

It's a hand she can never let go of in this lifetime.

Under the shade of the trees, that familiar tall figure suddenly appeared before her eyes.

Cecilia Gu suddenly felt her vision blur. She wiped her face and realized she was crying without even knowing when the tears had started.

That familiar figure, that familiar face.

So close, yet so far away.

The moment Charles Yin saw Cecilia Gu, it was as if he couldn't hear any other sounds and couldn't see anything else.

In his world, there was only her.

Cici, I'm here. I've kept my promise—I've come to protect you.

Charles Yin walked toward Cecilia Gu, each step feeling like it landed directly on her heart, trembling and shaking.

Every step was hope. Every step was confidence.

Charles Yin reached out to Cecilia Gu, tears glistening at the corners of his long eyes.

He was a grown man, but right now he just couldn't control his emotions or his tears, letting them fall freely.

If you've never lost, how could you understand the pain of regaining, only to lose again?

Looking at Charles Yin, Cecilia Gu's vision was already blurred. The moment he reached out his hand, she dropped everything and ran toward him.

Her heart was pounding in her chest, filled with joy and gratitude.

It was a feeling called happiness, enveloping her whole body.

Charles Yin, I'm lucky to have you.

Charles Yin, I've finally waited for you.

Cecilia Gu ran through tree after tree that separated them, stumbling as she rushed toward Charles Yin.

That place is home. That place is where she belongs.

Wherever he is, that's where her soul finds rest.

"Cici..." Charles Yin opened his arms to Cecilia Gu, tears in his eyes.

Without any hesitation, Cecilia Gu dove into Charles Yin's embrace, burying her head deep in his chest.

It's him. It's really him!

He really came to find her!

That familiar scent, that familiar touch, and that familiar... him!

Charles Yin hugged Cecilia Gu tightly, wishing he could press her into his body so they'd never be apart again!

The others slowly gathered around, but no one disturbed their reunion.

Everyone in Charles Yin's team knew exactly what their boss had been through these past few days.

They'd never seen their CEO lose control like this before.

He was once a legendary king!

But because of his wife, he was lost, helpless, and as fragile as any ordinary man.

Turns out, when a king steps down from his throne, he's just a lovesick man.

At that moment, as Charles Yin held her, it was as if his soul was made whole again. The long-lost king had finally returned.

Earl Field stood to the side, watching the two embrace with a complicated look. A flash of emotion crossed his red eyes, impossible to read.

Earl Field quickly turned away, refusing to watch, and tried to seal away the memories of the past three days deep in his mind.

From now on, he and her could only be friends.

Watching Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin embrace, Rona Muir couldn't help but turn and hug Jiro Hirayama.

Jiro Hirayama was very pleased with his beloved woman's spontaneous embrace.

He didn't mind if Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin were separated a few more times, as long as every time it ended with Rona Muir throwing herself into his arms.

Gu Miao stood obediently to the side, her eyes red from crying.

These past few days have really been tough.

Charles Yin really wanted to keep holding Cecilia Gu, to never let go for all eternity.

But right now, there were still more things to do!

Charles Yin reluctantly let go of Cecilia Gu, turned to the others, and smiled gently: "It's so wonderful that you're all safe!"

Everyone sighed with emotion.

Yes, for everyone to be safe and sound is truly a blessing in the midst of misfortune!

Cecilia Gu waved to Gu Miao, and the three of them hugged once more.

"Let's leave here as soon as possible," Charles Yin said. "Mo Zixin and his people will be here soon. Yu Han is still in his hands—we have to go right away!"

Only then did Cecilia Gu remember that when she fell into the water, she had handed Yu Han over to Captain Hans.

Then Cecilia Gu realized that since Charles Yin was here, the only one left in charge over there was Old Mo.

With Hans's intelligence, he probably already guessed Old Mo's identity.

Oh no, something terrible has happened!

What if Hans takes Yu Han hostage?

What if Hans demands to exchange Old Mo for Yu Han?

She'd worked so hard to rescue Old Mo, but now she'd lost Yu Han!

Just thinking about it made Cecilia Gu's face change dramatically!

Everyone else immediately realized the problem too, and their expressions changed as well.

"Alright, let's not waste any more time here. Let's head back and regroup," Earl Field said. "Maybe things aren't as bad as they seem."

Cecilia Gu nodded hastily, not caring about anything else, urging everyone to leave quickly and return to base.

Yu Han, please be safe!

Otherwise, Mom will never forgive herself!

Now that they'd found Cecilia Gu, Charles Yin immediately relayed the news back.

Old Mo received the news and couldn't help but sigh.

His grandson and that girl—maybe they just weren't meant to be.

So close, just a little bit more...

Hans also received word that Cecilia Gu had returned safely.

Hans said to Yu Han, "Tell me, if I use you as a hostage to threaten your mother, and trade you for the Mo family's general, do you think she'll agree?"

Yu Han looked calmly at Hans. "Didn't you just say you wanted me as your student? Are all your students meant to be hostages?"

Hans was a little annoyed by Yu Han's retort. "I wanted you as my student, but you didn't agree, did you?"

"Fine, I agree," Yu Han suddenly changed his tune. "If you want me as your student so much, then I'll do it."

Mom has been found. Mom is safe. Now I can finally relax!

That captain is annoying, but at least he keeps his word.

As long as Mom is safe, what's the harm in sacrificing a little and becoming his student?

Hans was stunned. He hadn't expected Yu Han to agree so easily after holding out for days!

This doesn't make any sense!
