Destroying a Stone Mine

2/27/2026

Thinking of this, Evan Yang smiled, “Got it. Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.” Connor smiled.

Evan Yang smiled back and got up to leave. Seeing Evan heading toward the stone mine, Connor was shocked, “You’re not really going, are you?”

“Yeah.” Evan Yang nodded.

“Are you sure? It’s nearly certain death. If you faint, get seriously injured, or go mad, you’ll be sent out automatically and can never enter again.” Connor warned.

Evan Yang smiled, “I understand. Thanks.”

Connor saw Evan Yang was determined and could only watch him leave.

Evan Yang circled around the canyon, heading toward the mine. On the way, people from the canyon saw him going there and speculated wildly—some thought he’d die inside or be sent out, others believed he might make it out.

If he did make it out and returned to the canyon, he’d be hunted. But no one knew if Evan Yang would survive.

As for Evan Yang, he arrived at the so-called stone mine, which was shrouded in a strange gas. From outside, he could feel his soul trembling.

But Evan Yang wasn’t foolish—he’d prepared ahead. He spoke to Soul-Reaping Water, “I’m counting on you.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll protect your soul. I can handle it.” Soul-Reaping Water replied with a smile. Evan Yang walked slowly inside, his soul protected, so nothing happened.

No one expected Evan Yang to enter so easily. After an hour, he still hadn’t come out, so people assumed he was dead.

But after an hour, Evan Yang finally found his destination—a place filled with stones. He thought of a plan: instead of hauling them away, why not just cultivate here?

So, in a place no one would expect, Evan Yang closed his eyes. Stones gradually covered his whole body, shattering and being replaced until he became a stone statue.

Days passed. Those outside assumed Evan Yang was dead. Jalon Drake and the Nether Sky Demon King waited outside for nearly a year, but Evan never appeared.

“Do you think something happened to him?” Nether Sky Demon King asked curiously.

Jalon Drake shook his head, “I don’t know. What do you think?”

“I don’t know either—he’s just a weirdo.” Nether Sky Demon King replied.

Jalon Drake was also eager to see what Evan Yang would be like after coming out.

Meanwhile, Evan Yang was cultivating with his eyes closed. His speed was thousands of times faster than normal. Stones around him shattered and reformed repeatedly—the whole stone mine was his alone.

After three years, Evan Yang slowly opened his eyes, feeling immense power in his body. He could now contend with someone possessing seven hundred strands of Heavenly Dao Intent—even before using the Colorless Flame, which would make him even stronger.

Evan Yang originally planned to keep cultivating, but found the stones around him were gone—he’d used up the entire mine. Soul-Reaping Water told him that as the stones disappeared, the soul attacks weakened, and now they were gone.

Knowing this, Evan Yang nodded and left. When he stepped outside, he saw a crowd staring in shock—no one could survive three years in there, so they wondered if Evan had stolen many stones, not realizing he’d been cultivating.

“Hey, you’re alive!” Connor ran over and smiled at Evan Yang.

Evan Yang smiled, “Yeah, I’m back.”

“Did you get a lot of stones?” Connor asked curiously. Evan Yang shook his head, “No, not a single one.”

“What? How is that possible? You were in there for three years—how could there be no stones?” Connor asked suspiciously.

“Go see for yourself.” Evan Yang said awkwardly. The others, not believing him, went in to check. After the power had faded, they reached the deepest part and found only powder everywhere.

Soon, they guessed Evan Yang had cultivated inside and used up all the stones.

When they came out, they stared at Evan Yang in shock—he really was a weirdo. Connor was also stunned, “How did you do it?”

“That’s a secret. Anyway, I’m leaving. And stop staring at me—I really don’t have any stones.” Evan Yang smiled.

Someone shouted angrily, “Do you realize, thanks to you, we can never cultivate here again?”

“There’s nothing I can do.” Evan Yang sighed.

“You must compensate us for our loss! Everyone, get him—take whatever he has!” someone said coldly. The others lost their composure and immediately targeted Evan Yang, attacking him.

Evan Yang shouted, unleashing seven hundred strands of Heavenly Dao Intent. His roar frightened everyone—though Evan was only an Immortal Sovereign, he was terrifying. The crowd backed away, afraid to be the first to die.

Connor smiled at Evan Yang, “Alright, don’t be angry. It’s fine—give it a few tens of thousands of years and it’ll be okay again.”

“Tens of thousands of years?” Evan Yang asked curiously, snapping out of it.

Connor nodded, “Yeah, tens of thousands of years.”

“Good, I thought it was gone forever. Well, I won’t bother you—keep cultivating.” Evan Yang smiled and left.

Under everyone’s strange gaze, Evan Yang headed for the exit. He thought leaving would be easy, but as soon as he stepped out, everything turned white—clouds and mist everywhere, even underfoot.

Evan Yang asked suspiciously, “What is this place?”

“Kid, do you know why I sent you here?” the voice sounded again.

“It’s you again?” Evan Yang recognized the voice as the one who’d stopped him before.

“Of course it’s me. You destroyed my place—how could I let you leave so easily?” the person said coldly.

Evan Yang asked suspiciously, “You think you can stop me?”

“Kid, outside I was careless and couldn’t stop you, but here it’s different.” the person sneered.
