The pit appeared out of nowhere, overflowing with raging demonic flames. Billowing black smoke filled the air, and Shawn Young, trapped inside, tried to look up but it was hopeless—the thick, swirling smoke blocked any view of the top. At the bottom of the pit, waves of fiery red magma churned like an enormous cauldron, sending waves of blistering heat up through his feet and body. All this burning energy was pouring out from the gigantic fire pit.
"Ah—Hellfire! That bastard can actually summon hellfire!" Shawn Young was shocked. He quickly formed the Water Chill Seal with his hands and channeled his inner energy to cast the Frost Shield, a shimmering barrier of icy white aura to protect himself. Then, with a leap, he landed on a stone at the edge of the fire pit, steadying himself. Looking down, he saw the bubbling magma churning like a giant cauldron of blazing red light, sending waves of scorching heat outward from the pit!
Suddenly, Shawn Young felt a chilling wind pressing down from above. He looked up and saw the Infernal Overlord circling overhead, its dark red eyes staring straight down at him.
Seeing that Shawn Young hadn't fallen into the boiling magma but was instead barely standing at the edge of the fire pit, the Infernal Overlord was first stunned, then let out a weird laugh: "Heh—heh—heh—so you have a barrier protecting you, huh? You're one tough little Taoist! Still trying to tough it out? Well, let me turn up the heat and see how long you can last!"
With that, the Infernal Overlord spun and swooped in midair, then opened its mouth wide at Shawn Young—"Whoosh—Whoosh—Whoosh—" Several dazzling streams of hellfire shot out like flaming serpents, raining down on Shawn, who struggled to hold on. The flames burned wildly on his Frost Shield, devouring it!

Shawn Young instantly felt his whole body engulfed by the raging hellfire. The Frost Shield protecting him was being scorched by magma below and the hellfire raining from above. Soon, he sensed the scorching heat seeping into his body like mercury, and the white aura of his Frost Shield melted away like ice under blazing fire. Clearly, it wouldn't hold out much longer against such a fierce attack.
At this moment, Shawn Young knew that if his Frost Shield was destroyed, he'd be burned alive by the next wave of hellfire. Helpless, he could only grit his teeth and force his inner energy to keep the shield from breaking.
But things were much worse than he'd imagined. Under the Infernal Overlord's relentless assault, the hellfire raining from above never stopped, like an endless inferno. Shawn felt his Frost Shield was about to shatter—the fierce heat kept invading, scorching his body. He was like dry tinder, about to catch fire. He thought of escaping, but his strength and energy were almost spent, his dantian completely drained. The Infernal Overlord's attacks were just too overwhelming.
