Abducting the Kitten Part 1

12/2/2025

Yuna let out a sigh—well, at least that was some comfort! She didn’t have to worry about her safety, even though no one could really threaten her to begin with.

Yuna collapsed powerlessly on the spot, her little paws scratching at her ear. Her fluffy face twisted in confusion—there was no father in the memories she’d received. How had she come into being? Was her memory incomplete?

High up in the thick branches, Ethan Gray raised his brows slightly. So this was the Divine Beast? Aside from that furry little body, she seemed no different from an ordinary person. Interesting.

He’d only come here for the excitement, but now his interest was piqued. Keeping such a pet might not be a bad idea!

"Where exactly is the Divine Beast?"

"It should be just ahead. That pillar of white light came from that direction!"

"Let’s go have a look!"

The sound of hurried footsteps drew near, but Yuna remained motionless on the ground.

No one knew who had spread the news, but everyone in the martial world had received word of the Divine Beast’s emergence. Even the royal families of various nations had been alerted. Meanwhile, Ethan Gray received another message: his beloved sister and brother-in-law had vanished, leaving behind only a letter. They asked him to take over Cloud Sect, and if he was willing, to take charge of Lotus Sect as well.

A chill flashed in Ethan Gray’s eyes. Well played, Quentin Hua! Not only did you abduct Xier, you also spread news of the Divine Beast everywhere—clearly trying to make trouble for me!

A group of people had already approached, and when they saw Yuna lying motionless on the ground alongside a stiffened corpse, they couldn’t help but exclaim, "Why are there two Divine Beasts?"

"Could they both be dead?"

"This one is dead!"

Hearing this, everyone’s gaze landed on Yuna. If one was dead, only this one remained. It was said that the Divine Beast was intelligent, could speak human language, and possessed boundless magical power. With its help, conquering the world would be easy—who wouldn’t be tempted?

A hand reached quickly toward Yuna, clearly trying to seize the advantage.

"Ah..." Yuna suddenly cried out, startling the person so much that they instantly withdrew their hand. The group stared at her in shock.

Yuna still lay on the ground, glancing up at the excited, greedy faces surrounding her. She snorted coldly, "Anyone who dares come closer, this Divine Beast will send you straight to the Eighteen Hells!" She slipped into her role with surprising ease.

At her words, no one dared move recklessly. The legends about the Divine Beast were so fantastical that no one knew what was true or false, but they had all witnessed the pillar of white light illuminating the entire mountain. It only faded after a stick of incense’s time, leaving a single beam shooting into the sky. Such a miracle made them believe in the Divine Beast’s power, so no one dared provoke her.

Seeing that no one dared make a move, Yuna leisurely closed her eyes, clearly planning to take a good nap.

While the crowd hesitated, a figure dropped from the ancient tree not far away. With sword-like brows, a straight nose, and thin lips pressed together, his gaze settled on the white bundle below. His cold, magnetic eyes held a trace of amusement. Dressed in silver-black robes, Ethan Gray strolled over with casual steps.

When the crowd saw this strikingly handsome, noble, and commanding man, they quickly made way for him.

"Lord Dark..."

"Your Highness, Dark Lord..."

There were martial artists here, as well as people from various royal courts. Regardless of their background, everyone recognized the name Ethan Gray. Though he was only fourteen, no one dared underestimate him in the slightest.

This Lord Dark was a truly legendary figure. Granted his own domain at birth, he took over the Ghost Guild at two, and was officially crowned king at ten. His abilities were extraordinary, his methods ruthlessly effective, and his martial skills unfathomable. He could only be described as a 'monster'—surpassing even the former Ghostmaster!

If the Divine Beast were easy to capture, they might have lost all reason and fought for it regardless of status. But now, with the beast clearly hostile to everyone, none were foolish enough to offend such a formidable figure! No, not just formidable—a true demon!

Besides, even if it was the Divine Beast, it might not necessarily give Lord Dark any special treatment!

Ethan Gray ignored the crowd and walked straight to Yuna’s side. Looking down at her, he said, "Little kitten, come home with me!" There was a faint smile at the corner of his lips—so subtle that most thought it was just their imagination.

Curled up on the ground, Yuna lazily opened her eyes and glared at him. "Are you blind? How do I look like a cat?" It was clearly a sore spot for her. Though she’d resigned herself for now, it didn’t mean she was happy about turning from a person into a small animal!

Ethan Gray raised his brows and smiled, "You look like one in every way!" This Divine Beast really did resemble a feline!

This time, everyone was sure they hadn’t seen wrong. No one had ever seen Ethan Gray smile before; rumor had it he simply didn’t know how. Yet here he was, smiling so gently for the Divine Beast. Sigh... Lord Dark is human after all!

But it was undeniable—Lord Dark was incredibly charming when he smiled. If he did so more often, even more noble ladies and martial heroines would surely be chasing after him!

Comparison really is the thief of joy. He was only fourteen, always wore a stern face, but managed to win over everyone, young and old. It was enough to make people jealous!

Yuna bristled, "You’re the kitten! Your whole family are kittens!" She was already frustrated, and now he was deliberately teasing her, poking at her sore spot. She sprang up and threw a punch—only to see a white, furry paw instead of her fist. Yuna wanted to cry but had no tears.

Ethan Gray caught her raised paw and pulled her into his arms, coaxing softly, "Little kitten, it’s so gloomy here. Aren’t you scared?"

Yuna still ignored him, snorting inwardly. Did he really think she was an idiot? He was clearly trying to abduct her, and she wasn’t about to let him succeed! Still, she didn’t struggle—the warmth of his embrace was far more comfortable than the cold ground.

With a magnetic voice, he continued to tempt her: "There’s nothing to eat here. Aren’t you hungry?" Judging by the look of this little kitten, she probably wouldn’t want to eat bloody, raw meat.
