When Elders Don’t Strive, the Young Suffer in Vain

2/14/2026

"That woman—is she Venerable Void?"

Quinn narrowed his eyes, gazing into the distance. Yue Tingge had once said the Void Bridge was unimaginably dangerous—even he dared not set foot on it. As someone who had reached the true-god Heaven Palace realm, Yue Tingge might act crazy and play the fool, but his strength was undeniable.

If even he didn’t dare step onto the Void Bridge, that alone spoke to its danger.

But Venerable Void was different. That woman had already ventured this far onto the Void Bridge—her strength truly defied belief.

Quinn frowned slightly. Yue Tingge had tricked two Heavenly Venerables into the Supreme Divine Sense Domain, leaving Flame-Venerable trapped there—so how had Venerable Void managed to escape?

Why had Flame-Venerable warned him to be wary of Venerable Void?

Did that warning carry some deeper meaning?

Why did Venerable Void insist on crossing the Void Bridge? Was she searching for the missing Creators, or was she after Carefree Haven?

"This Void Bridge is so treacherous. With my strength, I doubt I could make it across. Better to forget it."

Quinn’s gaze flickered as he thought, "The Other Shore Ark created by the Heaven-Craft Clan during the Pioneer Era can reach Carefree Haven. As long as I avoid Heavenly Court’s surveillance and repair the ark, I could use it to find Carefree Haven—there’s no need to risk my life here."

The Other Shore Ark’s Star-Disc was still in his hands. Back then, when the Village Chief and Mute Smith found that disc, the Chief personally placed a seal on it, saying Quinn could only pilot the Other Shore Ark to search for Carefree Haven once he had the strength to break the seal.

Now, while Quinn couldn’t claim his strength surpassed the Village Chief’s, breaking the Chief’s seal would be easy.

The Other Shore Ark was terribly damaged, but fortunately, by using the map left by Wei Suifeng, Quinn had located Gavin Zaro’s supreme god-brain hidden within Taeming Heaven of the Kaihuang Heavenly Court and obtained the Ark’s blueprints.

The only problem was that the Other Shore Ark, forged by the Heaven-Craft Clan to reach Carefree Haven, was surely under strict Heavenly Court surveillance.

Avoiding Heavenly Court’s watchful eyes would be nearly impossible!

"Or... I could build another Other Shore Ark."

He calculated in his mind, "But building a new Other Shore Ark would probably require tens of thousands of Heaven-Craft artisans working together. I can’t gather that many, and even if I could, the news would surely leak—the target would be even bigger. Maybe..."

A wild idea sprang up in his mind—once it appeared, it couldn’t be suppressed, making his heart itch with excitement!

"Maybe... I could visualize an Other Shore Ark."

"Gavin Zaro burned the Ark’s blueprints into my mind—I can use those schematics to visualize the Other Shore Ark!"

"As long as I visualize this ship and mount the Star-Disc, I’ll be able to cross the Void Bridge—maybe even reach Carefree Haven!"

...

The idea thrilled him. Outside, he was under strict surveillance; now, as Shepherd Heavenly Venerable, no matter where he went, it was almost impossible to escape Heavenly Court’s watchful gaze.

But the Grand Void Expanse was different.

Of all the Heavenly Court experts who came to the Grand Void, only Flame-Venerable and Venerable Void were confident they could leave alive. Even someone like Yue Tingge couldn’t be sure of surviving.

Here, as long as he avoided Flame-Venerable and Venerable Void, he could freely visualize the Other Shore Ark and sail it across the Void Bridge!

"But before that, I need to raise my cultivation—reach the Heaven Palace realm. Only then can I attempt to cultivate Supreme Emperor Julius’s Grand-Luo Supreme Divine Sense. With that, visualizing the Other Shore Ark will be much faster!"

Quinn was a man of action. He’d never opened Heaven Palaces before, but he’d opened Divine Treasuries twenty or thirty times—he could do this with ease.

However, in the Dragon-Han Era, people opened Heaven Palaces by sensing and borrowing power from the Dragon-Han Heavenly Court’s ancient gods. Only then could they create Heaven Palaces within themselves.

Back then, the Dragon-Han Heavenly Court still existed in the mortal world—though it floated high above, humans and gods shared the same realm, making it easy to sense Heavenly Court and draw on its power.

When a cultivator opened Heaven Palaces, the South Heaven Gate, Jade Pool, God-Slaying Terrace, Jade Capital, and Lingxiao Hall—all those structures inside the palaces—were imprints of the actual South Heaven Gate and Jade Pool of the Dragon-Han Heavenly Court. It was extremely convenient.

But in the Grand Void Expanse, that shortcut didn’t exist.

So Quinn relied on visualization—imagining the full layout of Heavenly Court, sketching out its structure, then opening up the void and manifesting the Heaven Palace realm within himself.

They were living at the Creators’ last gathering place, with Logan Cross standing guard for him, ready to fend off any attackers.

Quinn sat in silence for a long time, visualizing again and again. In his Spirit Embryo Treasury, a glazed jade South Heaven Gate slowly took shape, its runes and patterns growing clearer by the moment.

Next, the Bluewave Bridge spanning the Celestial River appeared—golden dragons with suns in their jaws soared, phoenixes crowned with cinnabar perched nearby.

Deeper in, he saw Longevity Platform, Heavenly Street, Heavenly Market, Imperial Road, Water Palace, Three Platforms, Heavenly Rampart, Three Masters; following the Celestial River further, Jade Terrace and Jade Pool emerged—vast and sprawling, with divine mountains rising from the blue sea.

Beyond Jade Pool were the Left and Right Feathered Guards, Left and Right Dragon Guards, Left and Right Divine Guards, Left and Right Divine Strategists, Left and Right Divine Might—the ten imperial guards—then the God-Slaying Terrace.

After the God-Slaying Terrace came Jade Capital City and Lingxiao Hall.

Quinn’s first Heaven Palace followed the current Heavenly Court’s specifications. He understood the Dao runes of each ancient god, and every palace and hall he visualized was imprinted with the ancient gods’ Dao runes—making his Heaven Palace more complete and perfect than ever before.

Visualization alone wasn’t enough—he couldn’t make the Heaven Palace real by imagination alone.

He still needed to open up the void and truly manifest the Heaven Palace.

Inside his Spirit Embryo Treasury, Quinn’s primordial spirit stood atop the black-and-white Taiji diagram. He stomped his foot, and the Taiji expanded rapidly—lush Origin-Root Trees sprouted, tall and graceful.

As the Taiji expanded, Quinn took out a jade bottle sealed with Origin-Root Primordial Essence. Carefully, he flicked out a single drop; it landed on the Taiji, instantly conjuring a vast, surging ocean!

Quinn drew out another drop of essence—this one became a roaring Celestial River, shooting skyward along the Origin-Root Tree behind him, piercing straight into the void!

Quinn’s primordial spirit remained atop the Taiji diagram, not following the Celestial River into the void, but instead guiding it to flow across the Taiji continent.

Quinn frowned slightly—he hadn’t obtained the Dao runes of the Home’s End Grand Abyss, so he couldn’t visualize the Abyss itself.

He could only guide the Celestial River to flow along the central Taiji chord, ending as the mighty Nether River sweeping toward Youdu, spiraling down around Earth Duke.

"I have Madam Yuanmu’s physical body here—when I have time, I’ll study it thoroughly. I must figure out the Dao runes of Home’s End!"
