"Oh really? So that's what you think!" Ryan Ling smiled faintly, and the moment his smile landed, boundless Immortal qi erupted crazily from within him. The sheer force was so domineering that in an instant, his aura enveloped—no, sealed off—a hundred-mile radius around him!
That so-called Young Lord Shaw couldn't help but jump in fright, his eyes going wide. Clearly, by normal logic, a Profound Immortal shouldn't be able to lock down the surrounding world like this—especially when he himself was a powerful Golden Immortal!
"Stop posturing! Trying to pull tricks in front of me? You're just begging for death!" At this moment, Young Lord Shaw didn't take him seriously at all. He screamed like a madman, his voice nearly tearing his throat, and at the same time unleashed his Golden Immortal power in a wild surge. He was still convinced that his Golden Immortal realm was unbeatable!
But the instant his Golden Immortal aura collided wildly with Ryan's Profound Immortal power, something utterly unbelievable happened!
Young Lord Shaw's boundless aura couldn't break through at all. Even with his Golden Immortal strength, facing Ryan's qi barrier, all his power bounced right back—he just couldn't hold up. The scene was so shocking nobody could believe it, and Young Lord Shaw himself was instantly left dumbstruck!
"How is this possible?" Young Lord Shaw exclaimed in disbelief, unleashing his Golden Immortal power again!
But before he could even fully release it, Ryan's power clamped down on him like a giant pair of pliers, locking him in place. Young Lord Shaw felt like he was about to cough up blood—he could barely move, the pain written all over his face as it turned bright red!
"This—this can't be right, something's definitely wrong!" Young Lord Shaw shouted in shock, totally losing his composure!
Meanwhile, the men from the Savage Tribe who'd come with him were struggling to breathe—one by one, they all dropped to their knees. Partly it was fear of Ryan's overwhelming presence, but mostly his crushing pressure was just too much. These minor Divine Immortal-level nobodies were lucky to survive at all; if they slipped up now, they'd be vaporized in an instant!
"Just how strong is this guy, anyway?!" The nearby Savage Profound Immortal's face was turning purple. He'd originally wanted to fight Ryan, but thank goodness he hadn't tried—otherwise, things would've gotten way uglier. Now he was slowly backing away, clearly trying to run for it!
"Where do you think you're going? Trying to run?" Chief Mira wasn't about to let him escape and immediately shouted after him.
"Damn it, you little wench..." The Savage Profound Immortal was about to cough up blood, but before he could finish, an invisible force hoisted him upside down in midair.
"Oh my god, help! Don't kill me—I'm innocent!" Faced with death, the Savage Profound Immortal started screaming, his voice absolutely gut-wrenching. The guy was putting on a performance for the ages!
"Innocent, my ass!" Ryan nearly coughed up blood at that. He rolled his eyes hard, then struck ruthlessly—instantly, the unlucky Savage Profound Immortal exploded on the spot. Clearly, with Ryan, losers like this are just courting death!
"Husband, you're amazing!" Chief Mira clapped her hands excitedly, clearly thrilled to the max. Lily, too, was looking at Ryan with total worship—his performance right now was just like in the old days: so domineering, so heroic!
"Shut up! If you say one more word, I'll strangle you myself!" Young Lord Shaw yelled through gritted teeth, clearly on the verge of losing it—he looked like he was about to cough up blood!
"Kid, you still dare act up at this stage? Looks like I really need to show you who's boss today!" Ryan didn't waste time—he clenched his fist, and Young Lord Shaw's entire Golden Immortal aura shattered in an instant. Young Lord Shaw was left totally stunned; he never imagined a Profound Immortal could be this strong!
Right now, Young Lord Shaw could barely even speak!
"Still want to fight?" Ryan sneered, appearing beside the guy in a gust of wind, eyes locked straight onto him. At this point, Young Lord Shaw was basically useless—just a piece of trash. His only remaining value was as a source of info about Barbarian City!
Ryan needed to keep getting stronger—there was no way he'd stay here forever. He had to move on to bigger places for bigger achievements. So Barbarian City was definitely his next stop!
"Spare me! Spare me!" Young Lord Shaw immediately dropped to his knees, kowtowing in utter terror. To him, Ryan was nothing short of a total demon!
"Cut the crap. I'll spare your dog life for now—lead us to Barbarian City!" Ryan shot him a glare.
"Got it! Just leave it all to me, I promise you'll be satisfied!" Young Lord Shaw nodded furiously, instantly switching into total bootlicker mode—his words practically dripping with groveling!
"Yeah, let's go to Barbarian City. I remember I knew some people there, but it's been a hundred years—who knows how they're doing now!" Lily murmured. She knew perfectly well that Barbarian City was way better for cultivation, food, and everything else, plus you could gather way more useful info. Definitely a good place to go!
"Then let's head out!" Ryan didn't hesitate. Now that the crisis for the women's tribe was over, there was no point sticking around. Time to hit Barbarian City! Besides, the whole tribe needed an overhaul, and all those resources had to come straight from the city. So Chief Mira stayed behind to rebuild the tribe, while Ryan took Lily and dragged Young Lord Shaw off toward Barbarian City!
Barbarian City was huge, sitting at the crossroads of several prefectures, with all sorts of people passing through. It was a total mess, but for Ryan, that was perfect—he could hide out, find a quiet spot to train, and actually get the rare herbs and pills he needed for top-tier cultivation. Lovers' Gorge might've been a nice place to train, but it was too remote and lacked materials. For fine-tuned cultivation, you needed all kinds of resources—that was the safest, best way!
That was the biggest reason Ryan needed to get to Barbarian City fast. His power had already reached peak Profound Immortal, but to go further, he needed to be extra careful. Barbarian City had everything he could possibly want—and it was way easier to stay hidden there, too!
And as they traveled, Ryan learned from Young Lord Shaw that the Shen Family ran the city's medicinal herb business, with tons of rare herbs stored in their warehouses. Once they got settled, taking down the Shen Family was absolutely necessary!
"We're here—this should be the place!" The three of them arrived at a sizable residence, its gate marked: Kwan Residence.
“You guys know someone from the Kwan family?” At that moment, seeing Ryan and Lily about to enter the compound, Young Lord Shaw couldn’t help blurting out.
“Why so surprised? You know the Kwan family?” Lily shot him a look. Young Lord Shaw quickly nodded, then added:
“Of course I know them. They used to be the richest clan in all of Barbarian City, but these years the other families have squeezed them so hard they’re barely surviving. All the male heirs are either dead or crippled—see, their gate’s shut even in broad daylight. You can imagine how miserable things are for them now!”
“No way!” Lily responded, then immediately knocked on the door.
“Who is it? Who are you looking for?” The person who opened the door was a skinny old man, so thin he looked like he barely had any flesh—like a gust of wind could blow him away!
“Is Liana Kwan here?” Lily asked directly.
“Huh?” The old man froze, his face turning pale, then he raised his voice: “Who did you say you’re looking for?”
“Liana Kwan!” Lily repeated loudly.
“Are you sure you’re looking for our clan’s old ancestor?” The tall, skinny old man was stunned, clearly not believing it.
“Lian’er actually became an ancestor, huh? Sigh, a hundred years really changes everything.” As Lily spoke, she slowly reached a hand down into her pants…
