Cure Method

Evan Chu hadn’t expected Gavin Wei to ask him that. “Sect Master Treasureforge’s talismans are insanely powerful—they’ve slaughtered so many demonic soldiers out there, I’m sure everyone knows that by now.

The Yin–Yang Demon Empress totally hates his guts, so of course she wouldn’t let him go. Back then I was fighting Zane Zuo, and the Empress was there too. After I killed Zane, she came after me as well.

To stop the Yin–Yang Demon Empress from attacking Sect Master Treasureforge, I used Icefire Eye on her. The main reason was, she was way too far away—neither my martial skills nor movement arts could catch up. But I had no idea she was a cursed freak, and now look at the mess I’m in.”

Hearing Evan’s answer, Nolan Nangong said, “Evan, you’re worrying way too much about Sect Master Treasureforge. His strength is no less than mine, and that’s not even the main thing—his treasure arsenal is crazy strong, especially his defensive and life-saving artifacts. I bet even if the Yin–Yang Demon Empress showed up right in front of him, he’d walk away without a scratch.”

Evan’s face instantly turned dark. “Are you kidding me? So all my hard work was for nothing? Man, this is just my luck! Gavin, if you’ve got any way to fix me up, spit it out! If we don’t take down the Yin–Yang Demon Empress, this Immortal–Demon War is never going to end.

This war has already cost the Immortal Realm a ton of soldiers, real lives lost! As commander, I can’t just stand by and watch my people die in front of me. You get how that feels, right?”

“I get it. It’s not impossible to heal you, just a bit tricky. To break the curse backlash, you need the purest, most vigorous yang energy. Basically, you’re cursed—does that make sense?” Gavin Wei said.

“Yeah, I get it. Just hurry up and tell me how to fix it. I don’t want to hear you ramble—I still gotta check on Selena later.” Evan urged.

“The purest yang energy is actually simple—you need fresh blood. Soak in a blood bath made from the soldiers’ blood for a full day and night, and the curse will be lifted. But you need a lot of blood, and every soldier who donates has to add one drop of their essence blood too. Only then will it work,” Gavin explained.

Evan was stumped. Soaking in blood for a whole day and night—how much blood would that even take? And it needs essence blood too? We’re in the middle of a war! For a moment, he had no idea what to do.

Nolan Nangong burst out laughing. “Hahaha! That’s easy. I’ll give the order right now—everyone get ready to cut their wrists and bleed, then force out a drop of essence blood. Leave this to me and Gavin Wei. Don’t stress about it. You’re the commander, and saving you is the greatest honor for the troops—even dying for you would be worth it.

Besides, it’s just a bit of blood, nobody’s gonna die from that. Don’t blame yourself—once you recover, we can win this war. Otherwise, even more soldiers will die. You’re actually saving them by doing this,” Nolan said.

“Right, but the blood has to come from soldiers under thirty. Only they’ve got enough yang energy. Problem is, most of the guys on the front lines are over thirty, so getting enough blood is a little tricky,” Gavin Wei added.

“No problem. I refuse to believe that out of millions of Immortal Realm troops, we don’t have at least a few hundred under thirty. One bowl of blood per person is enough. I’m ordering all soldiers under thirty to assemble right now—when it comes to Evan, I’m not hesitating over anything,” Nolan declared.

Evan tried to object, but Nolan had already left the tent. Everyone desperately wanted Evan to recover; if the enemy found out their commander was seriously wounded, it’d crush the army’s morale.

At that moment, Jade walked over to Selena. A ball of white light appeared in her palm and sank into Selena’s body. Jade closed her eyes, fully focused, and the whole tent went dead silent.

After a while, Jade opened her eyes, her face full of excitement. “Young Master, I saw it—there really is a remnant soul inside Selena. Just like Gavin Wei said, she probably knew you could restore a remnant soul to the body, so she used her life force to seal it away.

To break the seal and free that remnant soul, only her closest kin can do it. In this world, only you and Lina could pull it off. That means Selena can still be saved.”

“That’s awesome! As long as Selena can be saved, I’m relieved. The Yin–Yang Demon Empress actually dared to hurt my woman—this time, I’ll tear her to pieces and erase her from this world!” Evan said coldly, murder in his voice.

Just then, Nolan Nangong walked back in. “Mission accomplished! In no time, I gathered over a thousand soldiers under thirty. When I told them we needed their blood and essence blood, they were confused and some were reluctant.

But when I told them the blood and essence blood were to heal you, everyone agreed right away. Some even wished they could drain all their blood if it would help you recover.”

“Thanks, old brother. If everyone’s willing, I won’t refuse. Go get everything ready—I want to recover as soon as possible. I can’t rest easy until the Yin–Yang Demon Empress is dead!” Evan said.

Gavin Wei and Nolan Nangong left the camp together, and Gavin pulled out a huge wooden tub that reeked of medicine—probably the one he used for storing herbs.

After Gavin explained the basic precautions, the soldiers lined up, each slicing open their wrist to let blood flow into the tub. Gavin watched carefully and stopped each person once they’d donated enough. Of course, before cutting their wrists, each soldier added a drop of essence blood to the tub.

After about half an hour, only a bit over three hundred soldiers had bled before Gavin stopped them—the tub was nearly full, and the stench of blood was so strong it made people want to vomit.

Gavin then took some herbs from his storage ring and tossed them into the tub. Once he was done, he had others help place Evan into the wooden tub. “You can only stay in the tub for half a day at a time, then the blood has to be changed. When you climb out, you might feel ‘different’ from before.”

Gavin didn’t say what ‘different’ meant, and Evan didn’t ask. It was just one day and night—he believed he’d get through it soon enough.

Meanwhile, after getting blasted away by Shadow’s Lion’s Roar, the Yin–Yang Demon Empress wasn’t seriously hurt. Now he finally realized how terrifying Evan Chu was. Even cursed, someone in the Immortal Realm could probably cure him. So the Empress had to kill Evan during this window.

But he needed a powerful body to possess first. The Yin–Yang Demon Empress quickly locked onto a late-stage Demon Emperor in the Demonic Realm as his next target…
