Father

Grace's heart skipped a beat, and she stared at him in a daze.

Evan Xiao smiled slightly and whispered in her ear, "Tonight..."

He only said those four words, but Grace immediately blushed from head to toe.

Evan Xiao saw she got the hint instantly, chuckled again, and turned to leave.

The skin of the Boros Fruit was translucent, revealing the bright red, tempting flesh inside.

Grace used them, along with other medicinal ingredients, to make pills and successfully refined two Ninefold Serenity Pills.

She took one herself, then began channeling her energy to absorb it.

Unconsciously, her body began to float in the Sanctum, and the tree-shaped Natal Spirit Light above her head slowly sank into her body, merging into her Spirit Core...

...

After a long while, Grace suddenly opened her eyes.

She did it!

Her Natal Spirit Light merged into her body—she'd reached Spirit Master Grandmaster!

Then she realized she was floating in midair again.

This time, she didn't fall. She channeled her Yuan Force to stabilize herself and gently landed on the ground.

If she could do this, flying couldn't be far off!

Overjoyed, she left the Sanctum.

It was already dark outside.

I wonder how Evan Xiao and the others are doing?

Grace went out to take a look.

From the Celestial Hall came music and dancing—it looked like the festivities would go on late into the night.

She still slipped out through the side door and stepped onto the Grand Plaza.

Tonight, the moon was especially bright—she could see clearly that the plaza was empty.

"Ugh! When is this going to end..." Grace squatted there by herself, bored, poking at the ground.

Suddenly, a pair of feet appeared in front of her.

She looked up and saw someone standing there.

Grace stood up, utterly dumbfounded.

"Dad?" Grace blurted out. "What are you doing here?"

This person... was actually Minister Zhuo!

"Grace..." Minister Zhuo looked both excited and restrained. He glanced at the hall, then leaned close and whispered, "Let's talk over there."

Grace forced herself to tamp down her shock and excitement, and nodded.

So, Minister Zhuo turned and walked toward the front of the plaza.

Grace hurried after him, afraid her dad would disappear again.

Her dad had a habit of walking with his left hand tucked behind his lower back.

When he was relaxed, his hand was loose.

When he was tense, his hand would ball into a fist.

And right now, it was just like that.

He tucked his left hand behind his lower back, leading Grace forward.

But as they walked, Grace suddenly stopped.

"Dad!" Grace called out.

"Hm?" Minister Zhuo turned to look at her.

"Where's your Double Beast Ring—the one you wore when you married Mom?" Grace stared at his fingers. "You never take it off, so why aren't you wearing it now?"

"Your mother is gone, so I put it away," Minister Zhuo replied. "Let's go a bit farther—so no one sees us."

Grace stood there in silence for a moment. "Wait here for me, I'll go tell them first," she said.

As she spoke, Grace turned to leave, pulling out the Dragon Scale pendant at her neck and biting down hard.

Back in the now-fallen Blue Moon Kingdom, there was a wedding custom: the bride wore a bracelet, the groom wore a ring.

You could only take them off if your spouse died.

Everyone thought Lena was already dead.

But Minister Zhuo knew perfectly well—she was still alive...

This Minister Zhuo looked, acted, and felt just like her dad, but suddenly, Grace worried he might be an imposter.

She needed Evan Xiao to help her verify.

But after only two steps, a massive force appeared behind her.

That power was something her current cultivation couldn't resist!

Grace was pulled backward, completely against her will.

She looked back, but saw no one—only a pitch-black vortex!
