Conquering the Second Tier of the Demon Prison
"What, is that not allowed?" Ian Song replied in a calm tone.
"Haha!"
A mocking laugh rang out from behind Ricky the Rat King, coming from an early Fusion-stage subordinate: "Kid, aren't you afraid of biting your own tongue with such big talk? You're just a mid Soul-Split nobody, and you dare claim you killed Bear King!"
"Black-Furred Rat, watch your mouth! My master's skills aren't something a frog in a well like you could ever understand!" Yellowhide, emboldened by Ian Song's arrival, jumped up and cursed loudly.
"Yellowhide, are you looking to die? If so, I'll be happy to oblige!"
The man called Black-Furred Rat flew into a rage and cursed back.
"Enough!"
Ricky the Rat King suddenly barked, "We're leaving!"
Rats are naturally timid, and even though Ricky the Rat King had reached mid Fusion-stage, he couldn't change his cautious nature. He had already secretly sensed that there was no trace of Bear King's aura in the territory, which meant Bear King was likely dead. That made him uneasy.
"Master, are we really just letting them go?" Leo Hunter frowned.
"It's fine, let them go for now." Ian Song frowned slightly. The real reason he let Ricky and his group leave was that he'd already exhausted his Puppet Mastery Divine Art for the day. Killing Fusion experts would be a waste—better to enslave them later. So, once the puppet technique refreshed, he'd deal with them then.
Back in his own territory, Ricky the Rat King grew increasingly uneasy. He sent one Fusion expert to check the passageway, and another to keep watch on Bear King's domain.
An hour later, the early Fusion-stage demon sent to the passage returned, bringing back a chunk of Bear King's flesh.
With this piece of flesh, Ricky the Rat King was now certain Bear King had been killed. He was shocked—Bear King was mid Fusion-stage, equal in strength to himself. How could he be killed so easily?
He considered one possibility: that the human youth they'd met earlier was merely the disciple or servant of the true killer.
After thinking it over, Ricky decided to seek out Tiger King.
Tiger King was the strongest of the five demon lords, so teaming up with him meant that unless the killer was late Fusion-stage, they wouldn't be in danger. Even if the enemy was late Fusion, the two of them together could still escape!
"Someone, prepare some blood food for me. I'm going to visit Tiger King!"
Half an hour later, Ricky the Rat King arrived at Tiger King's territory with two subordinates and a portion of blood food.
Compared to Ricky and Bear King's domains, Tiger King's territory was much more luxurious.
Tiger King didn’t snub Ricky the Rat King; he received him in the main hall.
"Ricky, you never show up here for no reason. Out with it—what do you want?" Compared to Ricky, Tiger King was enormous, easily two meters tall, with the character for "king" boldly marked on his forehead.
"Tiger King, Bear King may have been killed!" Ricky said gravely.
"Are you joking?" Tiger King's eyes narrowed to slits, a hint of killing intent flashing out.
"My subordinate found this chunk of flesh at the passage!" Ricky produced the bloody piece. "I suspect the killer came up from the First Tier of the Demon Prison."
Ricky then explained everything he knew in detail.
"No mistake!" Tiger King set down the flesh. "This is Bear King's—he really was killed!"
"So what should we do now?"
Ricky the Rat King asked cautiously.
"Obviously, we avenge Bear King!" Tiger King replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"Should we contact Silas the Snake King and the Eagle King too?" Ricky suggested.
Tiger King waved a big paw. "No need. My strength is more than enough!" Of course, he didn’t want to call Snake King or Eagle King—there were at least eighty servings of blood food at stake. If they joined in, he’d have to share, and that was the last thing he wanted. In the Demon Prison, maintaining cultivation meant constantly devouring blood food.
An hour later, Tiger King and Ricky the Rat King led fourteen early Fusion-stage fighters to Bear King's territory.
From afar, Yellowhide spotted them coming and quickly reported the news to Ian Song. He felt a bit speechless, but since they were already here, he figured they might as well take them down first.
So, he brought Leo Hunter, Lana Blue, Yellowhide, Whitney White, and Gavin Black out to the edge of the territory.
"Kid, call out the guy behind you!"
Ricky the Rat King pointed at Ian Song and barked, full of confidence.
Ian Song was momentarily stunned, then realized what Ricky meant. He smiled, "If you want to meet the man behind me, you'll have to beat me first—or kill me!"
"Hmph! A mid Soul-Split punk acting so arrogant—you're asking for death!"
Ricky snorted and flicked out a burst of finger force.
