Evan Chu, carrying Alex the Violet Thunder Fox, walked behind the giant stone with Skylar Yule and Luna Chu. Though everyone was deeply curious why the old man had given Evan the red jade pendant, no one asked him about it.
But everyone was very curious about what he had written. Getting a token without paying any Starstones was probably a first. Luna Chu couldn’t hold back and was the first to ask, “Lin Feng, what exactly did you write? Why was that old man so nice to you?”
Seeing the anticipation in their eyes, Evan smiled and replied, "I actually wrote six characters: 'Slay Venerable Solus!'"
His words didn’t really shock the other three. In fact, Luna Chu and Skylar Yule were completely confused—they had no idea who Venerable Solus was.
Selena, however, had heard Evan mention him before. She knew he was a powerful figure from the ancient battlefield, supposedly a traitor to the Demon Realm. The details were unclear, but given Evan’s identity, it was very likely his reincarnation was meant to deal with Venerable Solus.
Seeing everyone fall silent, Evan turned his attention to the teleportation gate in front of him. The gate was bizarre—a massive log floated overhead, carved with the words 'Teleportation Gate.'
Floating there naturally, it obviously needed an energy supply, but now wasn’t the time to investigate. "Let’s go in and see what the Mermaid Kingdom in the Sea Regions is really like," Evan said.
The four of them walked directly beneath the log. Instantly, a powerful fluctuation erupted around them, followed by a tremendous suction force from ahead, and the four were involuntarily pulled inside.
Evan had never experienced this kind of teleportation before. The Teleportation Tokens in their hands flashed with golden light, each enveloping its owner, while the wind roared past their ears—proof of just how fast they were traveling.
All four felt a wave of dizziness, but the sensation vanished after just a few breaths. The golden light faded, and they found themselves standing on a wide, empty grassland.
Looking around, they saw an old woman quietly standing there, with a thatched hut behind her.
When she saw Evan Chu and his group, she immediately said, "Sell me your Teleportation Tokens. I'll give you passes to the Mermaid Kingdom. Otherwise, if you enter the Mermaid Kingdom, you'll only end up executed."
Evan glanced into the distance and saw that those who had teleported ahead were nowhere to be seen—they had clearly already left.
So the four of them walked over and each handed their token to the old woman. She looked completely ordinary, just like any commoner, with no hint of martial prowess.
The more ordinary someone looked, the more unfathomable they probably were. Skylar Yule’s token sold for three Starstones, Luna Chu’s for four, and Selena’s for seven. While buying Selena’s, the old woman gave her several extra glances, and a faint flash of killing intent appeared in her eyes—Evan saw it clearly.
It was obvious the old woman had recognized Selena's identity, but she restrained herself. Only Evan’s Teleportation Token was truly unusual.
After inspecting it several times, the old woman looked at Evan and said, "Young man, do you have anything else you haven’t taken out yet? Your Teleportation Token is a Terminus Token!"
"What does a Terminus Token mean?" Evan asked.
"It means that after your token, no more tokens of this line will ever appear. The issuer is finally released. Did he give you something and then disappear?" the old woman asked, her tone a bit excited.
Evan took out the red jade pendant from his storage ring and said, "Just as you said—he gave me this pendant and then vanished. But he told me to give it to the token buyer, so I guess that’s you!"
After taking the jade pendant, the old woman slowly walked up to Evan. Then she did something so shocking that all four of them were left stunned.
Joan He dropped to her knees right in front of Evan and said, "Sect Master, we’ve waited for you for thousands of years. Now you’ve finally appeared! Joan He, fifteenth-generation Frostbane Sect disciple, pays her respects to the Sect Master!"
Evan was completely dumbfounded. This old woman was actually from the Frostbane Sect, and she recognized his identity immediately—how could that be possible?
Still, he hurriedly helped Joan He up and asked, "Aunt Joan, why did you call me Sect Master? What’s going on here?"
Joan He glanced at the others and said, "They must be your friends, and pretty close ones too. Otherwise, I’d have killed them all long ago. Come, I’ll take you somewhere—then you’ll understand everything."
Before Evan and the others could react, an invisible force bound them and sent them flying into the air. The speed was far beyond Goldwing’s fastest flight, but there was no wind at all—only the scenery below flashing past in a blur.
After about ten minutes, they landed in a small courtyard where several servants were sweeping up fallen leaves.
When the servants saw Joan He and Evan’s group arrive, they respectfully greeted her as Aunt Joan, then went back to their work.
Joan He led Evan and the others into a main hall. She turned the chair at the head of the hall slightly, and immediately a secret door appeared in the side wall.
"Sect Master, let’s go!" Joan He said, heading straight into the secret door.
