Xin Jiang looked out at the situation outside, her body weak. "Shuang'er, who are these?" "Xin-jie, these are the ones Patriarch Fenn brought. Hundred-Bloom Palace is already broken, and the Genius Pavilion members here have suffered heavy losses. There are only a few dozen of us left now," Winter replied bitterly. "Looks like we have no hope of seeing him again. What a pity," Xin Jiang sighed. Though her soul was weak, her mind was full of the confident figure of Evan Yang.
"Yeah, but I believe that when he finds out, he'll definitely avenge us," Winter said with a smile.
"That's right, he'll avenge us," Xin Jiang replied.
"Why are you all hesitating? Surrender now, maybe the Great Immortal will appreciate you," Patriarch Fenn said.
"Surrender? Patriarch Fenn, that's impossible. Today, we'll fight to the death and take a few down with us," Winter said.
Tara Chu echoed, "That's right, even if we die, we'll take a few with us."
After speaking, Winter led the remaining people to burn the last of their strength, making a final desperate stand, facing death as they left.
"Burning? Fine, burn all you want," Patriarch Fenn muttered. The Immortal frowned and said, "You can't let them keep this up, otherwise who will I play with? Hurry up and stop them."
"But, Great Immortal, if we charge in like that, we'll suffer heavy losses," Patriarch Fenn complained, thinking of what happened earlier.
"Then go yourself. Surely you can handle a few who barely have any strength left, right?" the Immortal asked.
Patriarch Fenn paused, looked over the group, and realized that capturing them alone would cost him dearly. So he called over several powerful allies to help.
Among them were the Black Hand leader and the Ninefold Palace Lord. The three advanced together.
Seeing the three approach, Winter shouted, "Go ahead, then! Even if we die, we'll drag you down with us!"
"Drag us down? Is that possible? Fellow cultivators, you're already in this state—why keep struggling? Wouldn't it be better to follow the Great Immortal? He can give you whatever you want," Patriarch Fenn mocked, trying to distract them.
"Dream on! You really think we'd ever join you?" Winter snapped coldly.
"Then you don't know what's good for you," Patriarch Fenn replied, secretly signaling the others to make their move.
No sooner had Patriarch Fenn finished speaking than the other two struck, rushing straight at Winter and her group.
The sudden attack scattered the energy they had been gathering, leaving their bodies even weaker and barely able to stand. The burning earlier had already drained their last reserves.
"Ha! What strength do you have left to fight us now?" Patriarch Fenn laughed, pleased his plan had worked.
"Damn it!" Winter and the others cursed angrily.
"Struggling is pointless. Now I'll take you all to the Great Immortal," Patriarch Fenn sneered.
Winter and her group quickly pressed their backs together, trying to avoid being captured, while Patriarch Fenn and his two allies closed in with strange smiles.
Just then, a thunderous voice echoed from the sky: "Scatter now—or die!"
The voice boomed with such force it seemed to shake the entire void. Patriarch Fenn and his allies trembled, feeling it was familiar yet unable to place it. The Great Immortal, who had been lounging nearby, jumped up in alarm and scanned the surroundings. "Who are you? Show yourself!" he demanded.
"Right behind you!" Suddenly, a figure appeared behind the Great Immortal.
Startled, the Great Immortal fled to Patriarch Fenn and the others, staring at the newcomer in shock. "Who are you? Where are you from?" he demanded.
"Who am I? Patriarch Fenn, surely you haven't forgotten me," the newcomer asked with a strange expression.
Everyone around was stunned. The newcomer was none other than Evan Yang.
Evan Yang's arrival instantly reignited old grudges. Patriarch Fenn, especially, gritted his teeth and shouted, "Great Immortal, that's him! That's him! His name is Evan Yang!"
Hearing Evan's name, Winter and her group quickly looked up. When they saw Evan's figure, their bodies trembled and their faces lit up with excitement.
