Battle Against the Seventh-Stage Immortal Emperor
"Brother, you came at the right time. I was schemed against by a villain. Let's leave here first—I'm seriously injured," Zhong Ao gasped.
Joe Di chuckled, "No need. They've already caught up to us."
With that, Joe Di signaled Blackfire to land off to the side.
As Joe Di finished speaking, a woman in golden cultivator robes descended in front of Joe Di and Zhong Ao, blocking their path.
Immortal Emperor, seventh tier—Joe Di could tell her strength at a glance.
Joe Di said speechlessly, "Old Zhong, you really are living backwards. To think a mere seventh-tier Immortal Emperor woman could chase you all over the place."
"Hmph!" Zhong Ao snorted coldly, too lazy to respond to Joe Di, or even bother healing his injuries. For an Immortal King to call a seventh-tier Immortal Emperor 'mere,' probably only someone as thick-skinned as Joe Di could say such a thing.
His injuries were now so severe that abandoning his physical body was inevitable. The only reason he hadn't done so yet was, first, because he hadn't met Joe Di—without Joe Di, there was no Pure Yin Chaos Qi. Second, he hadn't obtained Millennium Divinewood Essence. Third, he dared not rashly restore his body.
With his strength, if he tried to restore his body in this plane and failed to ascend, the rules of heaven and earth could crush him into dust.
The woman looked very young and was quite beautiful, carrying an air of noble grace. Her long hair was styled in an Immortal Emperor's bun as she stared at Joe Di, yet she did not make a move immediately.
From the moment Ava Kong arrived, Joe Di could discern her cultivation level. It was clear that Joe Di's strength would not be inferior to hers—at the very least, he would not be weaker. As for Zhong Ao, he was the most terrifying figure Ava Kong had ever encountered in her life. If he hadn't been set up and forced to start over, no one could have pinned down Zhong Ao.
"Who are you? Why are you helping Thunder Emperor's fugitive?" the woman finally spoke coldly.
Joe Di couldn't be bothered to answer Ava Kong. He tossed a few pills to Zhong Ao and asked, "Old Zhong, how are the Curator and the Silent Master?"
Zhong Ao took the pills without even looking at them and swallowed them directly. His face turned grim as he shook his head. "I doubt they're doing well. They came here with me, but I was set up. Do you think they'd fare any better?"
Joe Di noticed Ava Kong's displeased expression, but before he could question her, Ava Kong's voice turned icy. "So you're that Joe Di. I thought you'd be something extraordinary..."
Although Joe Di said nothing, his inquiry about the Curator and Silent Master still revealed his identity to Ava Kong.
Thunder Emperor had always intended to target Joe Di, so his appearance here was no surprise.
Once Ava Kong realized who Joe Di was, her jealousy vanished. She drew her long sword, which transformed into countless sword beams, enveloping Joe Di in an instant.
Ava Kong was clear about Joe Di's cultivation—rumor had it he was merely an early-stage Immortal King. In her eyes, even a late-stage Immortal King or an Immortal Venerable was still an ant.
Joe Di did not summon the Primordial Thunderstone; he wanted to test his current strength against a seventh-tier Immortal Emperor in a head-on clash.
The Azure Veil Blade appeared in Joe Di's hand. A faint, almost ethereal blade light slashed out—it was the Lawbreaker Slash from the very first move.
When Joe Di unleashed the Lawbreaker Slash, he hadn't yet sensed the laws within Ava Kong's sword technique. But the moment Lawbreaker Slash was about to collide with her sword beams, Joe Di immediately grasped the essence of her sword law.
The azure blade light twisted slightly in the void, like a wisp of smoke drifting in a gentle breeze, subtly shifting its trajectory.
Joe Di's faint azure blade light collided with Ava Kong's endless sword beams, producing a sound like a glass bottle shattering on solid ground.
In that instant, the countless sword beams vanished. Joe Di was reassured—his single slash had broken through her sword law, proving that even an Immortal Emperor was not invincible.
"What a divine technique!" Even Zhong Ao, who had seen much in his life, recognized at a glance that Joe Di's slash was one of the highest-level blade techniques in the universe.
Joe Di took a step through the void, and the Azure Veil Blade transformed into a fierce arc of blade light, descending swiftly.
Ava Kong felt her scalp tingle. Because Thunder Emperor had paid special attention to Joe Di, she too had learned much about him. Joe Di was supposed to be just an Immortal King—how could he be so formidable? Was this really an Immortal King? With a single slash, he had shattered her sword law, robbing her of any chance to fully unleash her sword technique. Was this truly the power of an Immortal King?
Thunder Emperor had not misjudged—this insignificant 'ant' held the universe's greatest secrets. Even Thunder Emperor could not break her sword law with a single slash.
Ava Kong no longer dared to judge Joe Di's strength by her previous standards. Her long sword transformed into a river of swords, merging with her Immortal Emperor domain and rolling down toward him.
At this moment, the entire space was filled with Ava Kong's Immortal Emperor domain. Joe Di felt the surrounding space grow sticky and oppressive, and his own Immortal Venerable domain seemed on the verge of splitting apart.
Zhong Ao grew anxious, but his injuries were too severe. Even if he wanted to help, there was nothing he could do.
With his current strength, even entering the domain where the two were fighting was out of reach.
A thunderous crash echoed as the sword river collided with Joe Di's Wind Howl Blade. The Wind Howl Blade scattered into the void, and Joe Di's already weakened domain shattered even further.
A mist of blood exploded from Joe Di's body, and a deep wound was torn across his chest.
Ava Kong was shocked. In her mind, her sword river technique should have split Joe Di in half, but it had only managed to tear a single wound.
But with a single thought, Ava Kong realized that Joe Di was a top-tier body cultivator.
"Even if you're a body cultivator, today I'll pin you down!" Ava Kong shouted, her sword vibrating and conjuring wave after wave of sword patterns.
Joe Di realized his earlier strategy was wrong—he shouldn't have used the Wind Howl Blade, but should've struck while the iron was hot. His opponent was a late-stage Immortal Emperor, and he had treated her as if she were merely an Immortal Venerable, which led to his injury.

Almost at the moment Joe Di's domain shattered, an even stronger Immortal Essence domain surged forth from him. The Azure Veil Blade transformed into a thunderous blade thousands of meters long, slashing down as Joe Di called out, "Old Zhong, you don't need to join in. I want to see just how formidable this woman is."
Just before, Zhong Ao had been ready to help when he saw Joe Di at a disadvantage. But at Joe Di's shout, he withdrew again.
Ava Kong knew Joe Di possessed a unique skill: he could break her sword law with a single slash. If he mastered this terrifying technique, she might not be his match at all.
She withdrew her sword river, intending to dodge the thunderous blade, when she suddenly felt a suffocating pressure from the laws of heaven and earth binding her.
Ava Kong panicked. If she couldn't move, this blade could tear her apart. Blood spurted out as she desperately expanded her domain, trying to break free from the terrifying constraints.
What terrified her most was that Joe Di's domain, which had previously been torn apart by hers, now pressed back against her domain even more fiercely. Under the pressure of this thunderous blade, her seventh-tier Immortal Emperor domain could barely withstand half the force.
Even Zhong Ao was stunned. He knew Joe Di's cultivation and divine abilities were extraordinary, but he'd never truly realized just how formidable Joe Di was. Whether it was that slash breaking Ava Kong's sword law, or the thunderous blade with binding laws, these were powers he'd never witnessed before.
Still, Zhong Ao believed Joe Di's blade could at most sever one of Ava Kong's shoulders; killing her outright was just out of reach. It wasn't that Joe Di's divine technique was lacking, but rather his cultivation was still a notch below hers.
This was the first time Joe Di had underestimated Ava Kong and suffered for it. Would he make the same mistake twice?
As the thunderous blade cleaved through space and fell, Joe Di simultaneously unleashed a punch—not at Ava Kong, but at the void beside her.
Peaks gathered like raging waves; one after another, fist mountains condensed, each like a planet being hurled through the void.
Ava Kong finally broke free from Joe Di's thunderous blade, but she was still a step too slow. Zhong Ao's prediction was right—her shoulder was swept away by the blade.
At this moment, Ava Kong had no mind to worry about her shoulder. Immortal Essence waves surged around her as she prepared to flee. Joe Di was far too terrifying, his techniques endless—staying here would be courting death.
Before she could activate her escape technique, Ava Kong saw a barrage of fist mountains hurtling toward her. Under their assault, she felt everything would be reduced to nothing—the only outcome was death.
"Joe Di, I'm Thunder Emperor's consort! You can't kill me..." Ava Kong screamed frantically, her desire to survive eclipsing everything else.
Before Ava Kong could finish her plea, the first fist mountain tore through her domain and smashed into her, followed by the second and third.
Peaks gathered, waves raged—in the aftermath of that punch, palaces for thousands of miles were reduced to nothingness...
