Overbearing, A Father Who Does Not Avenge This Hatred Is Unworthy

2/14/2026

Prince Duan, the only Lyndarian royal with real military power and command, usually keeps a low profile and never joins political battles, almost like an invisible man. But that doesn't mean he's easy to bully.

On the battlefield, a prince who gambles his life for power is no softie. When it comes to his only son, Prince Duan doesn’t care what the emperor thinks. The moment he learns Little Dumpling’s whereabouts, he rides out that very night with five hundred troops and surrounds Princess Royal’s residence.

At the main gate of the Princess Royal Residence, guards hold torches on both sides. Prince Duan rides up and only stops at the gate. His warhorse lets out a fierce neigh as Prince Duan shouts, "Smash this gate for me."

"At once, Your Highness!"

Without giving the Princess Royal’s guards time to react, Prince Duan’s men start pounding the gate and walls with a deafening roar.

Boom—

The costly vermilion doors and priceless stonework—hauled from every corner of the realm—were smashed to rubble under the savage assault of these battle-hardened veterans. The Princess Royal’s servants shrank back in terror. By the time Helena got the news and rushed out, hastily throwing on a robe, Prince Duan was already thundering into the inner courtyard on horseback.

That posture—he was king of all under heaven, and none could challenge him.

"Ah—!" The warhorse bears down on her, and Princess Royal turns pale with fright, screaming. Her guards rush forward, shielding her with their bodies and blocking Prince Duan’s horse.

"Disgraceful," Prince Duan said with scorn.

When he was just half a step from the Princess Royal, Prince Duan pulled hard on the reins. The warhorse reared, let out a furious neigh, and stopped dead. Hot breath from its muzzle blasted straight into Helena’s face.

Shaken and humiliated, the Princess Royal’s face changed dramatically. She snapped, "What is the meaning of this, Royal Brother? Are you here to bully a weak woman?"

Prince Duan scoffed, "Hmph... A weak woman? If you’re a weak woman, then all the women under heaven ought to die of frailty." His chiseled features looked even colder in the torchlight as he mocked her mercilessly.

"Little Third, hand over my son, or I’ll flatten this Princess Royal Residence."

The Princess Royal wasn’t the former emperor’s first child, nor the first princess. It’s just that her older sisters died, so when the current emperor took the throne, she was the only princess left—and thus became the Princess Royal.

By seniority, she was third among the princesses, but only Prince Duan dared call her 'Little Third.'

"Royal Brother, what are you saying? I don’t understand." The Princess Royal’s expression shifted, but luckily it was night—no one could see her true reaction.

"Little Third, don’t play dumb with me. You know I’m not one for patience. I’ll count to three... If you don’t hand over my son, I’ll smash your Princess Royal Residence to pieces." Prince Duan was the embodiment of arrogance and menace.

"You—you dare! My residence was a gift from the late emperor. You’d burn it?" The Princess Royal was so furious her face went pale, cursing Serena Feng and Aaron Zuo a thousand times in her heart.

No need to guess—the only thing that could bring this god of slaughter here was the Little Dumpling in Serena Feng’s arms.

Prince Duan sneered, his gaze full of contempt for the Princess Royal. "Little Third, don’t think that just because I’ve kept silent all these years and let you jump around, I’m still the same pushover as when we were kids—letting you bully me and never daring to fight back, never daring to complain. Little Third, if you don’t satisfy me tonight, I won’t just burn your residence, I’ll burn you too. I dare."

"You..." The Princess Royal was shaking with rage, her beautiful eyes sharp as blades, but Prince Duan was utterly unfazed.

Whoever has the bigger fist is the boss. His years of silence and staying out of power struggles didn’t mean he was afraid—he just didn’t want to provoke the emperor’s suspicion. But if anything happened to his only son, he would never hold back.

"Little Third...do you really want me to use force?" Prince Duan didn’t care about the Princess Royal’s harsh glare. Their feud was set in stone.

"Royal Brother...I truly don’t know what you’re talking about. Your son isn’t in my residence." The Princess Royal didn’t dare provoke him, so she could only back down.

"So you want me to do this myself?" Prince Duan sneered, then vaulted off his horse in one fluid motion, not sparing the Princess Royal a glance. He barked to his men, "Search! Anyone who resists—kill without mercy!"

The Princess Royal wanted to protest, to ask what right he had to search her residence, but when she met Prince Duan’s murderous gaze, she had no choice but to swallow her words.

Prince Duan was no gentleman scholar—he killed without blinking. At fifteen, he led troops to war and ordered the burial of thirty thousand prisoners alive. He was a true cold-blooded killer who saw human life as worthless.

The Princess Royal stepped back, coldly watching as Prince Duan’s men barged in and smashed up her residence.

A gentleman’s revenge can wait ten years. Tonight’s humiliation—she would pay it back double in the future!

Prince Duan didn’t even spare her a glance. He personally led his men to search the Princess Royal Residence, quickly dragging everyone out—including the half-dressed pretty boys from her bed.

"Despicable." Prince Duan spat, shooting the Princess Royal a look of utter disdain. She burned with shame and fury, but could only grit her teeth and endure.

"Your Highness, there’s no sign of the young heir." The soldiers reported after searching both the front and back courtyards.

But the Princess Royal wasn’t happy at all. Prince Duan’s son was in Serena Feng’s courtyard—just one search would find him. His men were obviously doing this on purpose, using the search for the heir as an excuse to turn her whole residence upside down.

Scoundrels! Traitors feeding off both sides.

If she couldn’t figure out who was pulling strings behind the scenes at this point, she had no business surviving in court.

Sure enough, Prince Duan gave a cold smile and ordered again: "Search! Keep searching—leave no corner untouched. Dig three feet deep if you have to, but find my heir!"

Outside the residence, Serena Feng was perfectly aware of the chaos. She glanced gently at Little Dumpling, who was huddled with Evan and the Snow Wolf, and then leisurely sat back to watch the spectacle.

Leaking the news to Tianyu was definitely the best move—he handled this beautifully. Prince Duan’s rampage made it clear to everyone that the Princess Royal was behind it. As for evidence?

He didn’t need to throw anyone in jail—what use was evidence?

"Hopefully Prince Duan’s men are competent enough to find the gu-raiser. That would be even better." Across the courtyard, Serena Feng murmured to herself. On the other side, Prince Duan lived up to her hopes—he yanked the Ghost Doctor out from a dark corner.

The Ghost Doctor thrashed and fought, but aside from his medical skills, everything else was laughable. He was no match for Prince Duan, who dangled him effortlessly as if he were a scrawny chick.

"Even someone like this you’ll keep around—tsk tsk tsk... Little Third, your tastes are getting heavier by the day." With one line, Prince Duan made it sound like the Ghost Doctor was just another pretty boy kept by the Princess Royal.

"No, he’s—" The Princess Royal started to explain, but Prince Duan cut her off: "No need to rush, Little Third. I won’t spread it around and disgrace the royal family."

Ignoring the Princess Royal’s furious glare, Prince Duan tossed the Ghost Doctor into the crowd of guards. "Throw him in prison—better to keep it quiet, so people don’t find out the Princess Royal will take any man, not even avoiding fresh or raw!"

The Princess Royal’s face flushed scarlet—she wanted nothing more than to rip Prince Duan’s mouth off...

Prince Duan’s mouth was truly venomous!

(After the Han dynasty, the emperor’s daughters were called princesses, sisters were called Princess Royal, and aunts were called Grand Princess Royal.)
