The Death of Jin Locke (2)

He sighed inwardly. Only Damien Gray could commit such reckless deeds. It seemed that until Morgan Shangguan was found, the world itself would know no peace.

Coincidentally, he also needed to settle the score with the Blood Wraith!

Although the Blood Wraith had cursed Morgan Shangguan with witchcraft, he seemed to have no intention of letting her leave the Formation Array. Jin Locke visited Morgan every day, fearing the curse would torment her, but she always greeted him with cold indifference, as if he were a stranger.

Though she had been imprisoned for so long, Morgan Shangguan was never disheveled—her expression serenely untroubled, calm as a drifting cloud, untouched by anxiety.

That day, Morgan Shangguan finally broke through the Formation Array, but the disturbance was so great it roused the Blood Wraith.

Blood Wraith and Jin Locke appeared together. Seeing her break the Formation Array, Jin Locke was unsurprised; he had always known Morgan's talent in this art was unmatched. But the Blood Wraith was far less composed.

Blood Wraith glared at Morgan, his eyes reddened with a hatred so deep it was almost unbearable. "You wield Spirit Power? Are you of the Simon Family?" Without extraordinary abilities, even knowing how to break the formation would be useless. He would never believe Morgan's power was mere witchcraft.

If it wasn’t witchcraft, then it could only be Spirit Power!

Morgan Shangguan met his murderous intent without flinching. She replied coolly, "I wield Spirit Power, but I am not of the Simon Family."

Blood Wraith sneered, "Whether you’re of the Simon Family or not, if you wield Spirit Power, you deserve death!" As he spoke, he lunged at Morgan, the thick, chilling black mist swirling as if to devour her whole.

"Father, no!" Jin Locke moved to block him.

Blood Wraith gave him no heed, only asking coldly, "Even you would stand against me?"

Suddenly, Jin Locke knelt before him. "Father, please—don’t hurt her!" He knew that if Blood Wraith truly wished it, nothing could stop him. He could only hope that some trace of fatherly affection remained.

Morgan Shangguan's eyes narrowed. In a flash, she leapt forward, gathering all her Spirit Power—her palm struck at Blood Wraith with fierce resolve, the air crackling with supernatural force.

A sphere of black mist, dense as polished stone, swelled on Blood Wraith’s chest, gleaming with sinister light. Morgan’s full-force blow made the sphere shudder and dissipate. Blood Wraith, recliner and all, slid back a meter, while Morgan staggered several meters before steadying herself, a metallic tang rising in her throat that she forced down.

Blood Wraith laughed darkly. "Well! I underestimated you. I never thought you had such skill!" He turned, eyes icy, glaring at Jin Locke. "You dare defy my command!" Morgan had attacked him, yet showed no agony—proof she was never cursed by witchcraft at all.

Jin Locke was stunned. He had seen Morgan Shangguan drink it with his own eyes!

Before he could react, Blood Wraith’s chilling voice echoed, "Since you care so much for her, I’ll let you watch her die!" Those who betrayed him would never meet a good end—even his own son.

"Quentin Hua, can you find it or not?" Damien Gray radiated violence; his patience was threadbare.

Quentin Hua glanced around and replied, "Almost there, almost!" He couldn’t be blamed—he’d only been here once, blindfolded, and the place was riddled with formations. A single misstep could change everything, so he had to think carefully.

The more he looked, the dizzier Quentin Hua became, regret etched across his face. If only he hadn’t boasted—if he couldn’t find it, Damien Gray would surely kill him!

At last, Quentin Hua sighed. Desperate times called for desperate measures. He shut his eyes, recalled the route from memory, and strode forward.

Damien Gray frowned and followed. Ethan Gu and Max Jing silently prayed that Quentin Hua would succeed this time.

"Ghost King Boss..." Suddenly, a little ghost whirled over like the wind. Seeing Damien Gray was like seeing a lifeline. "Master... Master is fighting that monster..."

Damien Gray grabbed him and demanded anxiously, "Where?"

Quentin Hua opened his eyes and glanced at Damien Gray, frowning at his actions before shifting his gaze to the empty space ahead. After so many years beside Blood Wraith, such things hardly surprised him anymore.

Suddenly, Damien Gray withdrew his hand and ordered in a low voice, "Go!" With a few swift leaps, he vanished from sight.

The other three rushed after him. With Damien Gray’s lightness skill, if they didn’t keep up, they’d be left far behind!

Morgan Shangguan and Blood Wraith were locked in a fierce struggle. Blood Wraith was wounded, but Morgan Shangguan bore the brunt of the pain, her body trembling from the force of each exchange.

With decades of cultivation, Blood Wraith far surpassed Morgan Shangguan. Another palm strike—Morgan scattered the black sphere on his chest and tried to press forward, but his overwhelming power drove her back again and again. This time, he didn’t pause; while she was still unsteady, the black sphere shot toward her at blinding speed, trailing a wake of darkness.

Morgan Shangguan's pupils contracted as she toppled backward, heart pounding—she knew escape was impossible.

Bang—the black sphere struck flesh, erupting with a thunderous explosion.

Morgan stared at the fallen figure before her, surprise flickering in her eyes. Blood Wraith’s face twisted with rage. "Seeking death!"

Jin Locke ignored Blood Wraith’s fury, gazing only at Morgan Shangguan, sorrow clouding his eyes. "Fiona... if I had recognized you sooner, would we... would we have ended up like this?" She was the only warmth in his heart, but his mistake had made it irretrievable.

Morgan Shangguan pressed her lips together, silent, unable to find words. In truth, aside from hurting Damien Gray, she cared little for what Jin Locke had done to her. When she cursed him, it was only because she despised betrayal. She knew her indifference wounded more deeply, so she remained speechless.

Jin Locke clutched her hand with desperate strength, hope shining in his gaze. "In the next life... could we be together?"
