The Silver Dragon Chief quickly entered the spatial black hole. At this moment, Evan Chu was already feeling a bit of regret—he really shouldn’t have torn open the black hole in space; it would have made much less of a commotion. At first, he’d assumed the opponent was a Venerable Martial Realm expert and that this attack would destroy much of Divine Dragon Valley, which would be a pity given how beautiful the environment was. Now he’s decided that next time he kills someone, he won’t bother with the spatial black hole.
"Kid, there’s a road to heaven but you won’t walk it—yet you barge into hell with no door! This spatial black hole will be your burial ground!" The Silver Dragon Chief glared at Evan Chu as he spoke, but as he did, a silver spear appeared in his hand.
"Courting death!" Evan Chu spat out the words and instantly swung the Frostbane Sword, slashing out with one swift strike. Against this Second-Layer Venerable Martial Silver Dragon Chief, he didn’t care at all. As soon as Heaven-Cleave was unleashed, a massive wave of sword-qi enveloped his opponent.
At the same time, the Silver Dragon Chief whipped his silver spear, filling the air with countless spear shadows before Evan Chu. But to his shock, all those spear shadows were instantly shattered by Evan’s sword-qi. A wave of searing pain shot through his body; looking down, he saw a bowl-sized hole in his chest—his heart had been smashed to pieces in that instant. Life drained away rapidly, and terror and unwillingness filled his eyes. He’d actually been killed in a single move.
Killing the opponent in one move felt dull to Evan Chu. He tore open the black hole’s boundary, dragged the Silver Dragon Chief’s corpse out, and tossed it beside the wounded Silver Dragon. Laughing, he said, “Trash like this isn’t fit to be a Dragon Guard commander—what a disappointment.”
But just then, in a massive secret chamber inside the Dragon Shrine, the lowest silver soul plaque suddenly shattered. Hundreds of plaques lined the chamber, and the shattering of the small plaque was immediately noticed by its caretaker. The old man’s face changed at once, and he hurried out of the chamber.
"Shrine Master, the Silver Dragon Chief’s soul plaque in the secret chamber just shattered. That means he’s fallen. With his Second-Layer Venerable Martial strength, this shouldn’t have happened. I suspect something unusual is going on and we need to investigate. It’s likely someone entered Divine Dragon Valley and the Silver Dragon Chief died trying to stop them." The old man entered a resplendent hall and reported to a burly middle-aged man seated at the top.
The middle-aged man was momentarily stunned—he hadn’t expected such a thing to happen in Dragon Clan territory. He turned to another elder in the hall and said, “Grand Elder, use soul-scrying to see what happened. The Silver Dragon line is one of our clan’s pillars; we can’t let them die in vain.”
“Rest assured, Shrine Master. I’ll look into it now!” the elder replied. He produced a basin-sized mirror—smooth as glass, but unable to reflect a person’s image. Placing his palm slowly on the surface, he rapidly infused it with dragonforce. After a moment, the mirror flashed with a white light.
Immediately, a glowing screen appeared in the hall. Soon, an image materialized on the screen: a white-robed youth of about twenty was tearing open space and killing the Silver Dragon Chief.
Upon seeing this, the Dragon Shrine Master erupted in fury. “How dare a lowly human come to my Divine Dragon Valley and even kill my Silver Dragon Chief! For someone to slay the Silver Dragon Chief in one blow, his strength is clearly no joke. Grand Elder, have the Golden Dragon Protector capture that brat immediately—I’ll punish him myself, or the Silver Dragon line will be outraged.”
“Rest assured, Shrine Master! I’ll personally accompany the Golden Dragon Protector. Even if that brat had three heads and six arms, he wouldn’t escape—just wait for me to bring him back!” the elder said respectfully, then flashed out of the hall.
The Dragon Shrine Master frowned slightly and muttered, “Why does this brat look so familiar? I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere before. To have such strength at that age is no small thing. Why has he come to my Divine Dragon Valley, and how did he get in?”
Despite his doubts, he couldn’t get many answers, which was the most frustrating part. At that moment, the old caretaker said, “This visitor is no friend, Shrine Master. You must be careful.”
“Third Elder, what do you mean by that? Could anyone possibly threaten me? My strength is at the peak of Eighth-Layer Venerable Martial Realm, and I could break through to the Ninth Layer at any time. Who in the world could be my match?” the Dragon Shrine Master said.
“The Shrine Master’s strength is indeed great, but this person is no weakling either. I’ve watched over the soul plaques for many years—my cultivation may not match yours, but I can sense the strength of a person’s soul. Even though I only glimpsed him through soul-scrying, I felt his soul was even stronger than yours. Anyone with a soul that powerful appearing here must be treated with caution,” the elder said.
“I understand. We’ll know more when the Grand Elder returns. The Dragon Clan hasn’t had any major incidents in ages—hopefully this one is resolved smoothly. Seven-Star Convergence Day is almost here; I really don’t want too many complications.” the Shrine Master said.
“Seven-Star Convergence? Maybe that’s exactly why this person came. Otherwise, why show up now of all times? This makes things even less simple,” the elder said.
Meanwhile, Evan Chu was hovering in midair, quietly waiting for the Dragon Clan experts to arrive. “Luna, do you think I went too far? I’m a dragon myself—if I keep slaughtering my own kind, won’t all the Dragon Clan hate me? When it comes time to awaken my bloodline, if I don’t get their blessing, won’t all my efforts be wasted?”
“That shouldn’t happen. As long as you have absolute strength, you’re a Dragon Clan powerhouse. When you reveal your Golden Dragon body, no one will dare oppose you. But you’ve got trouble now—the ones coming this time aren’t weak: one is Fifth-Layer Venerable Martial, and the other is Seventh-Layer,” Luna said.
Evan Chu chuckled, “Heh, didn’t expect them to show up so fast. The Dragon Clan must really think highly of me, sending such powerful experts just to deal with me.”
In the blink of an eye, the Golden Dragon Grand Elder and the Golden Dragon Protector appeared before Evan Chu. They glanced at the Silver Dragon Chief’s corpse on the ground, and the Grand Elder asked, “Who are you, and why did you kill our Dragon Guards?”
Evan Chu glanced at the elder and replied, “Who are you, and what right do you have to question me?”
“Brat, you’re about to die and still dare to speak rudely to the Golden Dragon Grand Elder? You’re begging for death!” The Golden Dragon Protector, a middle-aged man with a furious face, shouted at Evan Chu, clearly ready to fight him on the spot.
