Cynthia Wu the Relationship Expert

12/2/2025

On the first day of the new year, every household donned fresh clothes, welcoming the year with joy and celebration.

Early in the morning, Cynthia Wu and her family came to Lily Evans's house to pay their New Year greetings. From afar, Lily spotted Cynthia waddling along with her big belly, carefully supported by Mark Hunter, who hovered around her like she was precious cargo, afraid she might trip or bump into something.

Lily couldn't help but tease, "Wow, Cynthia, look at your husband—he's so nervous you'd think if he let go, you'd float up to the heavens and become a fairy!"

Cynthia covered her mouth and laughed, "Says you! Just look at Lucky, he wishes he could tie you to his belt so you wouldn't get away."

As soon as the two women met, they started chattering away and slipped into the room to talk in private.

It was Mark Hunter's first time meeting Sean Hayes. The moment he saw Sean, whose athletic build spoke of years of training, Mark's eyes lit up. "Lucky, your cousin Egghead's physique is impressive!" he exclaimed.

Sean's eyelids twitched. He'd been put through the wringer by Alexander Hayes since childhood—how could his body not be tough?

The men chatted for a while before heading out to the backyard to spar with fists, bows, and arrows.

Cynthia glanced outside, seeing Mark and Lucky—Egghead—competing in archery. She turned to Lily and asked, "Ali, you two still haven't consummated your marriage?"

Lily gave a wry smile and shook her head. "I haven't recovered since falling into the water."

Cynthia Wu, who knew her way around medicine, totally got why Lily Evans was struggling. She popped a sunflower seed into her mouth and gave Lily a teasing look. "Lucky is young and brimming with energy, and you want him to hold back for a whole year? He’ll be climbing the walls!"

She tapped her own belly, leaned closer, and whispered, "When I was pregnant, Su Meixiang made me so mad I ended up seriously ill. My dad said I was weak, so Mark Hunter hasn’t dared touch me since. You have no idea—he’s only been holding back for half a year, and at night, the way he looks at me, his eyes practically sparkle!"

Lily Evans’s face went crimson, her ears burning. She sputtered, "How can you talk about this stuff so openly? Aren’t you embarrassed at all?"

Cynthia Wu rolled her eyes and patted her belly. "Embarrassed? Look at me! What’s the point of pretending to be a shy maiden now? We’re both married women, nothing to be embarrassed about. Marital bliss is the secret to harmony, you know. If you keep making Lucky wait, it’s fine for a little while, but drag it out too long and you’re asking for trouble."

"Really?" Lily Evans was half convinced, half unsure.

"Why would I lie to you? Just look at our village—how many guys sneak off to the city’s brothel when their wives are pregnant? We’re lucky. My husband’s loyal, and Lucky only has eyes for you. But you can’t take that for granted and make him wait forever." Cynthia Wu was dead serious.

Lily Evans mulled it over and had to admit Cynthia Wu had a point. She’d already decided to spend her life with Lucky—what kind of real couple never shares a bed? Lucky was just so naïve about these things, and she’d managed to keep him in the dark. Any other man would’ve kicked up a fuss!

"But—but I’m not in good health. I can’t get pregnant, and I can’t take any herbal contraceptives either. What am I supposed to do?" Lily Evans fretted.

Cynthia Wu grabbed Lily’s hand, tapped her lips in a secretive way, and whispered, "You silly thing, let me tell you—there are plenty of ways for a man and woman to be close…"

Cynthia Wu murmured in Lily Evans’s ear for a while. The more Lily listened, the redder her face grew. Ancient women were so peculiar—before marriage, they were the picture of modesty, wouldn’t even glance at a man.

But once they tied the knot and had kids, it was like a switch flipped—they became so open it was almost scary! Right now, Cynthia Wu was like a seasoned driver on a wild ride, and her advice was so bold it made even Lily Evans, a modern woman, blush!

"Cynthia, you—what’s with all this talk about hands and mouths! What are you teaching me?" Lily Evans was mortified.
